what do you make of the Mavericks strategy this offseason well Matthew I’m in agreement with this decision by the Mavericks uh and here’s why look they’re coming off a Western Conference Championship run into the finals uh Luca and Kyrie uh Dynamic duel in this league two of the best offensive players on the same team they’ve only been together for one and a half Seasons then uh so you got to continue to let them grow there’s still a lot of growth uh left between those two and then you talk about the trade they made at the deadline adding uh Daniel Gafford and PJ Washington they’ve only been with the ball club for four months so you have a really new uh young core together with the exception of Kyrie being over 30 it has a lot of growth left there you throw in young players like Derek live and Josh uh green and um and Jaden Hardy trust your development internally that uh and that’s what we all talk about in this league today is being able to develop young players those guys were important contributors as well I like where the Mavericks are at just get better with what you have resign Derek Jones and maybe go out and add a veteran player who can score a little bit and and continue to space the you know help space the floor to take a little bit of pressure off of both Kyrie and Luca but I I I love the decision by the Mavericks [Music] [Applause] me with I’m NBA is

If they do bring it back and they go in the playoff again. Im sure eveeyone will do the same thing the Celtics were doing and attack luka and kyrie
Luka my favorite player but he is lazy … with his resources he should be in better shape
They should upgrade the bench. Celtics bench was deep
Nico Harrison already said the 7-man rotation will remain intact. That means anyone outside of Luka, Kyrie, DJJ, Washington, Lively, Gafford, and Green will probably get traded for a more solid role player.
Luka needs to look into the mirror and see what he can do like improve his defense and getting into shape

Kidd need to be fired too. If you can’t tweak the lineups based on who you’re playing to be able to match up then you’re killing your team chances

Scott Perry and Steve Mills now they might have been bad but none of them ever committed a Blunder like Leon Rose is about to do if OG Walks . You don't trade two Franchise Building Blocks and a Draft Choice and let them walk out the door and get nothing in return. This is ASSET MIS MANAGEMENT and JAMES DOLAN would be in his right to Fire Leon Rose who a lot of Knicks Fans seem to think walk on Water. My Question is WHAT IS HIS PLAN B IF OG SIGNS WITH THE 76ers ??
There should be two focuses. A proven scorer to come off the bench 15-25 mins for spacing & a bench wing who can handle the ball and shoot a little to help them run the offensive actions they like to run with DJJ when he's not on the floor. Would help a lot imo
as a thunder fan the mavs are further away from a championship than we are. if kawhi was healthy they would have lost in the first round and then PJ and Derrick Jones fluke shooting and the Thunder's inexperience and poor performance carried them to finals. The Thunder played terrible and hadn't put their best team forward playing giddey and hayward and still almost won the series. The Thunder have a future the Mavs overachieved this year and will never get back there
Dallas' 6-man rotation is good. Yet, they gotta do the following two things:
1) Scour the earth for someone who can defend Nikola Jokic; and
2) Improve their shooting (Doncic/Jones/Washington)
Right now, Dallas doesn't have a solution for the biggest problem in the NBA (ie, Denver's big man). Back in the day, every contender sought an answer (ie, Hack-a-Shaq) for the NBA's biggest problem (Shaquille O'Neal). So, if Dallas doesn't do that this offseason/season then they're not preparing to succeed.
Luka just needs to be healthy in the postseason
