[Sixers_Galaxy]The #Sixers currently have “eyes on other targets” over Jimmy Butler — factoring the projected asking price of draft capital along with signing Butler to an extension, @ramonashelburne said on NBA Today. “People think Philadelphia [will trade for Jimmy Butler] because they….”

No one knows anything
I’m convinced everyone is talking out their ass.
They don’t want LaVine, they’re not waiting around for Paul, they think Jimmy is too expensive. Donovan Mitchell is expected to re-sign in Cleveland. That leaves DJM and Ingram, but I think they had their chance at Murray during the season, so they’re probably just looking at Ingram. Of course, I’m obliged to bring up Mikal and Lauri, but that still feels so incredibly unlikely.
Unless it’s someone out of complete left field, they’re trying to work something out with the Pelicans. As long as it’s not someone super mid like Keldon Johnson for example, can we please not bitch about the acquisition until we’ve seen everyone on the court together? I understand a lot of y’all are down on Ingram, but you can’t pretend he and the aforementioned names aren’t miles better than anyone else we had to flank Embiid and Maxey last year.
giving up our capital for jimmy would be so fucking stupid.
I would rather overpay for Lauri or Mikal, in that order, over any of the older stars or free agents. Failing that, I guess I’d take PG or Jimmy, but I can’t see them vaulting us over BOS or DEN. We matchup well with MIN and OKC at least, so maybe we’re over them I guess.
Honestly, if we can’t do a godfather offer for Lauri or Mikal, I’d rather give balloon deals to KCP and Obi Toppin, maintain our assets, and then we’d have the disposable salary to dump the picks if the right opportunity presents itself. We cannot settle and max some completely mediocre player again.
Fog of war motherfuckas!
I think this makes sense and the more information that comes out the more it generally seems like the preferred path is signing someone outright with our cap space and a trade is the backup plan.
PG and OG without giving up assets seems like “Plan A”, and Plan B is a trade for someone like Jimmy or PG if he opts in. If both those fail I guess we try and get 2-3 of the best role players available like KCP.
I am curious though if someone younger with star potential was available (Lauri is frequently proposed as an example), if that would be preferred over anyone in this free agent class. I would guess yes but not sure how much Morey values having the assets for more future flexibility at the deadline/next off season.
Holding out for markannen and kcp
The sixers dont want to give up what the heat want so they leaked this to make them think the don’t care about Jimmy when in reality I have a sneaky suspicion there’s just a picture of Jimmy in Daryl Morey’s office with hearts around it
I think this is real and makes very logical sense
morey is about to do something stupid i can feel it.
I think best move is no move.
Don’t make any serious multi year contracts.
Regroup at trade deadline
Overpay in trade for Lauri/ Mikal > overpay OG > overpay PG/ trade for BI (not overpay) > literally sign role players (KCP, Naji Marshall, DJJ, Kelly, Drummond > overpay for Jimmy/ trade for Lavine
Love his attitude and he’s a dog in the playoffs but age and spacing are just not right for the embiid/ Maxey core/ timeline.
I’m not bothered that these news items are being posted to the sub, but I really wish something would actually happen already 🤪
This part of the offseason is rough cause it’s hot as fuck out and talking heads are just word vomiting.
