OG Anunoby Contract Price REVEALED… | Knicks News

OG an noi’s true contract price has been revealed as there’s a lot of updates with him according to Michael a scado and we have to break it all down so what’s up guys welcome back to Nick’s digest it’s Chris here and we’re going to jump right into the video as we always do because Michael aado recently did a mock draft on Hoops hype and gave a big dive into a bunch of different teams no more so though than the New York Knicks and let’s just jump right in and take a look what he had to say in regards to OG anobi he said that when the Knicks first acquired OG they thought they’d land him in a deal for 30 to 35 million a year in that annual range however League sources now seem to indicate that the value has gone up starting at around 35 million per year to his maximum salary for next season which is 40 million per year obviously this is all according to Michael a scado and something else that should be mentioned when discussing this is the factor of Paul George now Michael aot mentioned that he finds it very interesting that now Paul George and the Knicks seem to once again be linked to each other last season we know the New York Knicks showed some interest in Paul George the Clippers wanted too much of a hle than what the Knicks would have really liked to get back and now it seems like that door is opened again if George is to accept that player option now this fully falls on Paul George accepting a player option if the Knicks do want to go for him and we’re going to jump into that in a whole separate video so stay tuned for that I’ll drop that one soon but when it comes down to OG an anobi it now appears like the Nicks are going to have to pay the man a lot of money Brian Windor mentioned the New York Knicks low balled OG during early free agency discussions on a potential new deal and now when you look here if the Knicks do resign Isaiah hartenstein and oi costs more than 35 million per year which is likely some around the league believe that Mitchell Robinson could be traded to help New York maintain a future payroll flexibility so they have a situation where they could still make some trades now the reason why that is important is because it shows how much they do prioritize OG on anobi specifically now also hartenstein but we’ve talked about hartenstein a lot we understand he’s probably going to come back at this point with OG I think the general consensus is that he’s going to resign with the Knicks it seems very off brand for this Knicks regime that keeps Everything All in the Family to lose OG a guy who wanted to come to the Knicks for a while a CIA guy whose agent is Sam Rose the son of New York Knicks president Leon Rose OG is intertwined in this Nicks family the same way that Jaylen Bronson was I really don’t see a scenario where OG is going to want to walk from the Knicks unless he’s like you know what I’m just chasing the most money possible and and even if they do that the Knicks don’t have to offer 440 million per year to give OG anobi the biggest contract possible the Nicks can do five years 270 million if they so felt like it are they no but they could someone else just signed that contract though a former teammate of OG nonetheless you guys might know who I’m talking about here as you could see from WJ the Raptors gave Scotty Barnes that max deal to stick around and be the best player for their future hoping that works out with their young core of Emanuel quickley who they still need to resign and RJ Barrett so obviously a good young core there Raptors wanted to pay their guy they paid him now OG isn’t the next guy per se their their guy is Jaylen Bronson as everyone knows Bronson is the true NBA superstar and when you look at things from that angle you’re kind of seeing hey look obviously OG isn’t worth to us what Scotty Barnes is worth to the T Raptors one Scotty’s an All-Star and OG’s not two Scotty’s just better than OG on anobi I’m sorry three Scotty’s got more potential than OG that doesn’t mean the Knicks aren’t willing to pay OG on aobi but that is the contract they could be giving him they don’t need to give him that much for him to be the most paid player on the Knicks there’s only so much money other teams can offer they can only offer I think four years $168 million meaning shout out Fred cats for giving those numbers by the way meaning that the Knicks they don’t have to offer $40 million and I don’t think they’re going to maybe there’s a world where OG can get paid nearly 40 million per year if they incentivized that contract I don’t know why this is hard for people to wrap their heads around nowadays but the NBA is moving their contract style more into the way the NFL does it with non-guaranteed deals that is the future of basketball if you don’t believe me I don’t know what to tell you that is how basketball is moving that is the direction that it is moving moving in Brian Windor talked about this extensively over a year ago on JJ reck’s podcast it is happening there is a world where the Knicks offer OG a contract that is not fully guaranteed that doesn’t have a final year or two guaranteed on it they might give OG five five years they might give him five years 200 million give him that 40 mil per year that he wants those final two years or so might be non-guaranteed it might be on a depreciating contract where he gets paid the most money from that deal per year next season they love those depreciating deals the Knicks have been big fans of those why because the salary cap keeps increasing the Knicks have money as it is right now if you can get a guy to agree to that deal and take their most money in year one then when the salary Cap’s bigger that player’s contract is smaller you have more cap space you have more money to go out there and make your team better you have more flexibility to make your team better that is why teams especially the Knicks love depreciating contracts now I think it’s a personal preference for players I think for the most part they’d rather the money increase they’d rather get a backloaded deal so it’s increasing but you know I don’t think it’s going to matter that much I mean Brunson took that depreciating deal and look at him he’s also in the new New York Knicks CIA family thing like OG anobi what I’m saying here is I’d be stunned if OG left and I think Scotty Barnes getting that much money is an indic Ator that that is what stars are being paid OG’s not a star but they’ll be willing to pay him a lot because they understand the importance to this team but there is a difference between those two guys and we all know it Scotty Barnes was an All-Star this season he averaged 20 points per game he put up eight rebounds six assists runs the floor well can be a guard can be a forward can do a lot can do some streams online can get accused of some weird things by weird people puts up 47% from the field you guys know what I’m talking about if you follow basketball and NBA Twitter you know what I’m talking about that’s not funny though don’t don’t don’t say that about Scotty guys um 34% from three he has blossomed he’s putting up a steel and a half a a block and a half per game he’s blossomed into a great player OG is not as good he’s just not look at the numbers hide the face and look at the numbers there’s a difference now OG’s his best play does not come through stats we all know that I’m not trying to make some stats argument but but we all know that one of them is an All-Star and the other’s not now if you tell me that OG’s going to guard Scotty Barnes I think OG’s going to win the matchup because he might be the best on ball defender in basketball he’s a top 10 defender in the NBA would be all NBA defense every single year but he’s not healthy enough to do so he’s shooting 46% from three 96% of his threes are assisted he’s not playing on the ball he’s an off the- Ball third best player on the team which works in a Jaylen Brunson Julius Randall offense that also features Dante Dev venzo he’s still puts up 15 points per game despite the fact that he’s not really getting that many touches gets four rebounds he’s a good rebounder but the Knicks have great rebounding puts up a steal and a half per game gets nearly a block shoots 38% from three nearly 50% from the field came into the Nick shooting 50% from the field obviously he then started dealing with that elbow thing so I think there’s a good chance he’s shooting over 40% from three next season while also being one of the best defenders in the NBA with the way the NBA’s moving you can pay that guy I think that’s fine if the Knicks have to pay him 40 million perer to keep him I say do it and figure it out later Leon Rose is great at his job they have Brock Aller the salary cap wizard they will figure this out the ncks have the deepest analytics team in the NBA that’s part of Leon’s thing is he believes heavily in analytics I trust the Knicks front office to make the right call in a way that I never have from any other New York Knicks front office in my entire life it’s basically block trust for Leon and Co right now because they have been the best front office of my lifetime without question but guys what do you guys think about this should they pay OG 40 million per year if they have to or should they let him walk to a team like Philly that maybe will’ll pay him that or maybe somehow Detroit or OKC but I think OKC getting Caruso might put that to bed a little bit the OG to uh or did I say did OG OKC gu Caruso it puts the OG thing to bed I might have got my words jumbled I don’t even remember I can’t speak guys like subscribe have a great day go Nick

OG Anunoby’s price for the Knicks to re-sign him has been REVEALED directly ahead of the NBA Draft and Chris Gallagher breaks down the situation, what the Knicks plans seem to be, and compares OG’s future deal to a max contract that was just signed.

  1. LEON ROSE WHO YOU ALL THINK WALKS ON WATER. Well Rose got played. ROSE thought he had a firm Agreement. Well all it takes is Philly to give a bit more and he is gone.

  2. He is not worth 40mill nice player but let's be serious knicks fan wake up his status don't call for forty million.

  3. Everyone saying “we knew this was going to happen” then maybe the trade was a bit too risky. OG is looking for a lot more money than he’s actually worth I’m sorry

  4. 40 m is alot considering the stat line. But not the eye test. I watched nearly every single game thus season start to finish. I didn't miss any since Jan. Sure his numbers don't pop out but the spacing he provides, his cutting is exactly what allowed brunson to become HIMMMMMM. His defense is great , the team is a real contender as is, gotta keep him

  5. Leon Rose let Donavon Mitchell walk Traded Obi, Grimes, RJ, IQ, now letting OG walk for nothing. 🔥🔥🔥Him

  6. YESS OG, GONNA LEAVE THE KNICKS LOL IN MASAI. WE TRUST LET'S GO RAPTORS!!! SCREW HE KNICKS I HOPE HE LEAVES YALL. NON CONTENDERS ANYORE AND YALL GAVE US IQ AND RJ BARRETT FOR NUN LOLLL

  7. The Knicks gotta pay him 35/4 yr for og or 40/4yr also pg13 pass go for dejontae Murray

  8. Right now that’s a lot of money to pay for someone who has availability issues. In the coming yrs it’s going to be a bargain with the new deal the NBA has made so in the long run it will be a bargain
