It’s fair. If they can put together an entire season or two, we can get off of it. I’m a believer in r/Sengun especially and Jalen did catch me off guard after his trajectory to start the season. I’m highest on Amen and Bari bc of their two-way impact even if it’s not flashy with the latter or stands out. When you look at the board after they’ve been in and having a good game, you’re like what the?!? Sneaky production is what I’m about.
I need to see Tari stay in the court bc he supposedly leads Ime’s team in some proprietary, internal indicator towards winning. Cam needs to add something else to his game to counteract his brute force and scorching shooting. Think Russ and when he was at his prime but hopefully not the expense of touches for others. Something more advanced analytics whether defensively or offensive reads (prefer both 🥲).
They’re not wrong tho. You need a top 10 player to be a contending team and I don’t really see that player yet.
Yea agree. That’s why selling off the young core or the 3rd pick rn is dumb
You wait until you have a group of guys who you can build around and then start trading
Most realistic point is that none of our guys are proven commodities that you can consider a pillar of our franchise. Not yet at least and that’s fine but acting as if anyone on the roster is untouchable in trade talks is foolish.
Cam is going to be a star. I don’t know for how long, because he has concerns about his knee and he relies on his athleticism so much. But that guy is different and I feel like the whole world is crazy not to see it.
Got to be patient. Not everyone can turn into star at year 3.
Uh oh Sengun Stans will not like this
Definitely not wrong.
But I don’t agree with the argument that we should trade our young guys for a star
Translated: We’re not extending either of these guys this offseason.
As much as we love Sengun or Jalen, that’s a fair assessment. Sengun is right on track, but I wouldn’t say either of them are “the guy” right now. Good thing is they are young and showed signs.
Sengun and Green shouldn’t be in that same talk for “Star Potential”… Sengun is 70 percent proven after last season, 21 and 9 don’t come easy. My doubt is how well he comes back from injury. On the other hand, Green had an amazing stretch… but he hasn’t shown a glimmer of sustaining that for a season’s length. He’s more so found his stride. They both have star potential. I do have my doubts surrounding Sengun. He can become an All-Star but I have serious doubts about him reaching superstar status.
I do think that Amen could be that guy though…
Whatever man. Just play these guys. Get an actual offensive assistant who can design a system and see what our young men can do. Offense is not Ime’s strong suit.
To me, our blueprint is the Celtics. 5 years ago a lot of what is being said about our team was said about them. They just went to their second NBA finals in three years and won it all.
Sometimes, a strong team with a really, really good player is more important than some superstar lead team. Look at what Luka did; fat ass got tired and started yelling at fans.
Jabari is going to mature into a very lethal triple threat player. Closest comparison I think would be Klay Thompson. I think Amen could be a better Westbrook, the talent is there they just need to be developed
