I think Stone made the right move. Cooper Flagg was a long shot and we have more assets now for a big all star swing

If we don’t do a big trade, I’m fine with getting draft value farther down the timeline. We have a logjam of young players, and they’re young enough to still give them time before consolidating and reloading with the draft.
If we get Butler or PG it’s over.
Edit: If it’s for Booker, not bad. KD … ehh, but still better than Butler or PG.

I guess only time will tell on these picks. I’m just praying Stone doesn’t give up these picks for some psuedo star like he’s been itching to do with Bridges.
Or some other win now move when the team isn’t even that close to being a contender.
Emergency_Marzipan_4
Sure we give up picks of a tanking team, but we get more assets for the future. What more new draft prospects do we still need? We already have enough young players for the next 2-3 years
AutographedSnorkel
Trading guaranteed high picks for what may be could be be high picks is stupid AF.

This is a massive win-win for both sides. Nets get to tank with their own picks and rebuild, we get more overall draft capital.
When the draft capital conveys has also been delayed which is a massive win for us. We’ll have rookies coming in on cheap rookie scale contracts while our current young core is all on their extended expensive deals.

All of this, while still keeping Brooklyns 3rd pick this year and their 2027 pick swap.

Going to be funny as shit when the nets get the top pick next year
KDs_FakeAccount
I like how stone was like we ain’t giving you all the picks back. You got to learn your lesson Nets.
Anyway, great move Stone. Maybe another Wildcard move: Trade 1 of these picks to move up to #1 for Sarr 👀
NoPickles
i think we could have got more.
so we got a little scammed.

Does this mean in 2029 we get the best two picks out of the three HOU/PHX/DAL picks?
AccomplishedBake8351
I do get it from Houston’s perspective. Yes it’s further down the line but ultimately it’s 3.5 picks for 2.
DrunkenReindeer
I’m assuming the suns pick is unprotected with no deferrals?
makashiII_93
So we just missed on the chance for two near guaranteed top 5 picks for…?
Hope?
ft1778
Fingers crossed it’s for Chris Paul or James Harden.

We won the picks trade, nets surrended
camman247
KD only has two years left on his contract as well 👀👀

I hate this for us bc I immediately thought we we in the Cooper Flagg discussion when I saw the Bridges trade. The nets were going to suck. Wish he would’ve held on to their 2025 pick for a chance to get Flagg.
soonerman32
I get why they did it, but that’s very likely a bad bet
mikeracioppi
I love this for us. Huge win and extends our window with more future assets. Dynasty incoming.

The suns are only getting worse but Brooklyn even more so. Guess we’ll just have to see what happens
LoveMeLikeNelson
Hey guys, appreciate the trade. As a brooklyn fan, do we get the Worst pick out of the 2025 and 2029 swap or does PHX/DAL get those picks? Sorry this is a little foreign to me
stros2022wschamps4
Just realized the Harden trade is now:
Give:
-James Harden
Get:
-Tari Eason
-2024 Pick 3
-2025 Suns Swap (won’t use)
-2027 Suns FRP
-2029 Suns/Mavs FRP
-2029 Suns/Mavs Swap (very unlikely to use)
So we got Tari Eason and 3 FRPs from a team that may or may not be good when they come due in five years. I love Tari but I feel like we could’ve jumpstarted/helped completely rebuild much better with trading James fucking Harden than just Tari Eason to show for it 4 years later?
Caesar2122
It’s fine we have so many young players rather have more assets for the future + there’s an outside chance we’d be able to get Devin booker next year if the suns blow it up after another failed season
