    Let Stone cook?

Only time will tell how this goes down.

If we make it past tomorrow without trading a ton of picks I will believe this more

I’m gonna be honest I don’t get why anyone would celebrate this weak excuse. We might’ve just traded away Cooper Flagg for a “developmental test”

It’s a decent trade. I just don’t see the vision considering how valuable those nets picks were.

It does feel like we got the shorter end of the stick. Still, nothing to bitch and moan about

See breakout of what we know so far from Woj.

    Got:

    2027 FRP – Suns

    2025 Swap – Suns

2029 FRP – Dallas or Suns

2029 Swap – Dallas or Suns

    Gave:

    2025 Swap – Nets

    2026 FRP – Nets

So if we are hoping to make next step this year, let’s assume we are a playoff team going forward for the next 4+ years starting this year.

The 2025 Nets Swap and 2026 Nets FRP are HUGE, considering they just traded their best player and committed to the tank. It’s almost guaranteed 2 high lottery picks in the next 2 drafts, both of which could be used as amazing trade pieces if we wanted to go that route too.

The 2025 Suns Swap is basically nothing as I don’t think either front office (Suns or Rockets) currently think the Suns will have a better 2025 pick. The 2027 Suns FRP is a complete mystery – could be a lotto pick, could be the worst pick in the draft.

The 2029 pick and swap are also complete mysteries but very unlikely we get anything good out of either, and they are nowhere near as good trade pieces as the tanking Nets picks this year and next year where they are guaranteed lotto picks.

We basically gave up 2 very high lotto picks in the immediate future where we know the team is tanking and we know the players in the draft (very valuable for us and/or anyone who wants to trade with us), for ~2 FRPs from teams that are in good shape and could very well be contending during those draft years or during the years we are trying to use them as trade bait.

I’m not a fan of giving 2 guaranteed high lotto picks in the next 2 drafts for praying the Suns implode in the next 12-24 months so we can basically get the picks that we just traded away in 4 years.

If we held the Nets picks, Nets would not have tanked (traded Mikal). There’s little to no chance of getting Flagg (see Pistons tank and draft history)

That’s the argument for the Stone trade.

However, Nets netted (no pun intended) a huge haul for Mikal. They could have traded him for that haul not thinking about the Nets picks held by the Rockets and they would still have come out successful.

Another however, if the Suns decided to call it quits, we would be the first team the Suns would call for their picks back. Hopefully not for KD but for Booker (younger, the level we want Jalen to reach at least).

All this just for Brandon Ingram

We just have to survive tomorrow bois. No bs trades

Ok the only issue is the current young core SUCKS on a relative scale if winning a title is the peak of the scale.

This team is not close to winning a championship.

Amen isn’t gonna suddenly develop a shot but he’ll be an elite defender.

Jalen will suck for 5 months and have one great month a year.

Jabari showed that he can be good, but he’s not close to all star level.

    Sengun. you’re cool.

Tari is a solid player but he’s a role player. FVV is not a no. 1 guy.

    Cam Whitmore has potential.

I’m loving this trade more and more. People here got a bit delusional we were going to get Cooper Flagg. I like how this trade gives our players time to prove themselves, if they don’t do well, we draft high in 2027, no big deal.
