This is ridiculous. The Knicks aren’t letting him go, no matter what. They’re going all in.

Knicks aren’t letting him go. PG is likely getting sent to the Warriors. Jimmy Butler is staying in Miami… It all comes down to Brandon Ingram at this point.

Sounds like it could be as soon as today: [[Neubeck] Sixers are likely NOT making a pick at #16 in the 2024 draft, instead trying to package it and another first round pick in the future (a more valuable one, such as one of the Clippers picks) to the Pelicans for Brandon Ingram. : nba (reddit.com)](https://new.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1donxj9/neubeck_sixers_are_likely_not_making_a_pick_at_16/)

  3. it would be very knicks of the knicks to let him hit FA but unlikely

Windy saying the same thing everyone and their mother had been saying since he got traded there and getting paid for it is wild

I don’t really want to give OG the max

His max is only 42M compared to 49M for PG btw

Not saying I think this would happen in a million years — but is it financially possible to trade for Ingram or Lauri and also sign OG to a max (or near-max)?

  8. First, OG is most likely not leaving NY. Knicks will do everything they can to negotiate a lower contract, but at the end of the day they don’t make the Mikal trade without the expectations of also keeping OG.

IF OG just happened to shake free and landed on the Sixers, it wouldn’t make me jump in joy by itself. There would need to be like 2-3 other significant moves for the Sixers to really solidify a contending squad. Signing OG would be more about subtracting talent from NY than anything else. He’s obviously injury prone, and lacks the offensive skill set to justify a max from the Sixers, specifically. It makes sense for the Knicks to pay that price because they’re so close. The Sixers on the other hand have an entire roster to fill.

I’d only want OG if Morey can cook and get like 2 more guys on the same level, talent-wise, as OG.

  9. I’d rather be tied to max contract extension Jimmy Butler for 2 years than max contract OG for 4-5 years.

Neither are ideal options, but we just went through a situation where we ate shit for giving a non-All Star player a max deal and here we are with some people looking to do it again.

Do people not realize that Tobias Harris was considered a VERY good player before he came here? We maxed him because that’s what it was going to cost to sign him as other teams were preparing to offer him the same thing. His play didn’t turn to dog shit until after that first year here (before the contract) and most people thought he’d still be a good fit after moving back to his natural position and going from the fourth option to the third.

I do not see any world where OG becomes anything more than the highest tier of starting role player and that’s just not the best way to spend that much money.

He not a max player ppl think he prime kawhi or something

There is definitely a reason not to max him lol he’s made of paper mache. Great player though

  12. No doubt the skill set would be fantastic but the actual player in reality is somewhat injury prone and his agent is the son of the Knicks president so we can really stop giving this story any attention now

If you give him a max you have to get lucky that your draft pick is a real scorer, this guy as a 3rd option on a max deal isn’t ideal honestly.

I don’t get the hype, he’s a role player who’s injured a lot. OG and Max are not a combo i want
