[Fedor] “The Cavs love Cam Johnson. If he is available from the Brooklyn Nets, the Cavs will be involved in those conversations. There’s no doubt about that. The question becomes, do they have the pieces to satisfy what Brooklyn would want in return for Cam.”

I no longer believe much of anything Chris Fedor reports …
Cam is an instant upgrade from anything we have but we have people thinking LeVert is his equivalent.
With us seemingly keeping DG, we need an elite catch and shoot guy.
Cam shot 42% on almost 5 attempts on catch and shoot last year. Strus shot 36% on 6 attempts.
Why’d it have to be Fedor who said it😭
Now it’s definitely not happening
Johnson doesn’t have some insane value where we don’t have the value to match. Problem is he’s way less valuable than DG/Allen so no trade with that framework is happening, and I don’t think our smaller trade packages centered around Levert+20 will be enough either. Idk maybe something is there with Levert but I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re kinda in a weird spot trade packages wise and can’t get anything done.
Ugh, well I hope this isn’t the case, Fedor shoots a lot of airballs on his reporting. Cam can provide shooting and not much else, I’m not a fan of his game at all.
I just don’t see it. Niang was a good shooter too and the only difference between them is Johnson is taller. He doesn’t move well on D, he costs a lot, and he doesn’t do anything besides shoot.
Might as well just stay at 20 and take Furphy if you just want a tall guy that can shoot spot-ups.
Would be awesome if he was a midlevel guy. At $20+, and without moving Allen I don’t see him as good value for us.
LeVert should be enough.
Cam Johnson is a limited player, with a rough injury history. He’ll spread the floor, so of course CLE is interested, he won’t offer much else.
For BKL, who appears to be going full ‘process’ with their rebuild, LeVert expires after this year, clearing the Cam Johnson contract off their cap for the following three years.
There is no reason we should be offering up a 1st rounder too.
I think Cam Johnson would be a good buy low guy if the nets are not asking too much. If health luck breaks are way I think he’s a better player then his time with the nets, was a more motivated defender with the suns. Risky move if it takes significant assets. I don’t think 23mil cap hit is that bad for him, that contract won’t look bad at all with the cap jumps coming the next couple years
