John Calipari Says Don’t Pass on His Guards in the Draft

Video linked here of his interview on McAfee's show yesterday with timestamp.

The NBA draft always feels like crapshoot even in the top 10 picks, but drafting a guard from Kentucky is always a good bet. Booker, SGA, Herro, Fox, Monk, Maxey, Murray, Quickley, all played for him.

Also a statement he gave later in the interview that I haven't verified, but these numbers came directly from him. 70 percent of the players he's recruited in the last 15 years have been drafted. 73% of those players have received a second contract. He goes on to say that 30% of the players on current max contracts played for him.

The dude breeds NBA stars and I can't help but feel great about our pick last night.

Idk if he breeds NBA stars, highly rated recruits just turn into good NBA players. He just happened to coach them for a year. It’s a great recruiting spin for him though

How cal only has 1 championship from like 12 years ago with the talent he’s spun out is insane

John wall played for him in Kentucky. Derrick Rose played for him in Memphis.

I don’t think it’s his coaching as much it’s him getting the top recruits.
