No need to rush big dog

The WWE entrance will be waiting

  2. A Porzingis return is what Celtics fans get for Christmas this year. Merry Kristaps Christmas!

In all seriousness, this wasn’t exactly unexpected. They’ll be fine.

  3. Ramblinwreck93

So out till Christmas, probably not looking like himself till the All Star break. Not good news, but not the end of the world. Just need to make sure we have a big on the roster who can split time with Al.

  4. Pale-Criticism-7420

WTF at first they said 8 week, damn 😬

  5. airmagswag

Honestly fine with it. Let him rest and get up to speed, it’s like load managing. Hell take half the season off and start to ramp up for the playoffs come Feb/march

I don’t think he comes back in 6 months I think they hold him out for longer. Plus recovery time. I’m expecting a late Jan, early Feb return

  6. PebblyJackGlasscock

I’m cool with him being out till the ASB. No need to rush things. The Queta-philes are going to he so happy with the amount of early season Neemis.

The Celtics just have to qualify for the playoffs and if KP is healthy, they are the favorites.

  7. chinesefox97

By God that’s Daniel Theis’s music.

  8. We desperately need to either add a big or hope that Queta becomes reliable

  9. obviously the biggest question is whether he can return to full form, but it’ll be great for queta (and tillman if he stays) to get some room to grow early in the season

  10. DjMoneybagzz

That “KRISTAPS PORZINGIS – AVAILABLE” post is gonna hit like crack

  11. Theis159

Effectively if the league is nicer with us (in schedule) and he comes back in 5.5 months he will be able to suit up for 50-55 games. That means he is probably playing 42-48 games or something like that for the year (b2b and stuff).

  12. InitialLingonberry

Would love to keep Kornet if price is right, he’s perfectly fine for eating up 20+ minutes per game in the regular season.

  13. HustlinInTheHall

Literally zero reason to ramp him up for start of the season anyway, we will have no issues getting into the playoffs and should still be a top 4 seed. This group knows what it needs to do, just need him healthy and ready to go by next April/May

  14. N8erade_32

Keep the man on ice. But also maybe draft a big man lol

  15. kim_marmite

I can see a ring chasing center joining us because of this

  16. Jellybeansmw

    Damn longer then expected…

    People where saying 3-4 month

  17. jjtrynagain

If this was a injury report with BB he’s be listed as doubtful with a “leg” injury

  18. Timberstocker22

He’ll be back around Christmas. Just need 40-50 games out of him then full speed come playoffs

Hopefully we find another big to give Al a break. Looking a little thin there for the first 25-30 games

I think good thing is if we can find a player that can fill out 20-25 minutes a night that game speed experience will pay dividends long term

  19. massdebator69

Need to prioritize bodies at big in FA. Don’t want to put too many miles on Al while we wait for Zingis.

  20. NotLow420

Should’ve had the surgery in September because I think it would’ve qualified us for the disabled player exemption. We could’ve gotten basically a free big out of it.

  21. Valuable-Baked

So Dec 2024 earliest, January 2025 mid range, ASG 2025 to be cautious

  22. assbaring69

This doesn’t look good for the perennially front-running Celtics. How are they going to win the N.B.A. Cup now? /s

  23. FlaminDrag0n

My regular season plan for KP is like I wouldve had for gronk in the second half of his career. They dont play in the regular season! People like this should sit frozen in carbonite until playoffs as long as your team can handle it.

  24. bigwillie814

Christmas Day game. Porzingis is risen.

  25. Jealous_Foot8613

As much as i love him , how smart is it to invest in KP long term?

We already have old Al Who will likely have to be replaced soon and with Tatum and JB signing supermaxs , the cap isn’t gonna be friendly

  26. I_Set_3_Alarms

Schedule our Christmas game against the Knicks, and KP will make that his first game back and put up 25-3-9 in limited minutes

  27. VectorTech_US

So long as he’s ready for June of next year I’m fine waiting.

  28. TheOneTrueBuckeye

Damn this really puts their chances of winning the in season tournament in jeopardy. We gotta chase that thing! The lakers already are up 1-0 on us there, gotta have it this year! Can’t let them hold that regular season championship!

  29. Bronnakus

The fact that he played with this injury at all, let alone was immensely effective in a finals closeout game 5 in Boston with it, is fucking absurd. No need to rush back at all, team showed it can manage without him just fine

  30. Simplyswag

Thats fine KP being back for Christmas is fine just in time for the 2nd half of the season and the playoff run to repeat.

  31. edg81390

I get drafting Scheierman as a potential replacement for Hauser, but with this news I’d have loved if we drafted Filipowski.

  32. PhilUpTheCup

Someone get this guy in contact with kneesovertoesguy

  33. lima9987

Crazy that he went out there and gave us minutes in game 5! Rest up KP banner 19 is loading and we need u for the playoff run.

  34. I_AM_ACURA_LEGEND

Christmas game, out the tunnel in an elf costume he comes

  35. BradWonder

I’ll say the quiet part out loud: this sucks. Let’s just cross our fingers we get more than a handful of playoff games this time. The excessive load managing last season obviously didnt amount to much.

  36. Full-Flight-5211

Doubt he is back for Christmas. They are going to be very cautious with him. I’d say mid January he returns

  37. redd_house

This is such a random thought, but do teams always dictate where players have their surgeries done? In the case of a foreign player like Porzingis, if he wanted to have the procedure done in Latvia would the Celtics just belike “lmao no buddy you’re getting it done in Boston?”

  38. Dondon1927

If he wasn’t who he is, which is a injury prone person, the timetable would have been about 4-5 months. Celtics are taking their time with him
