This is your window to go for it! π£οΈ – Zach Lowe on Knicks title chances! | NBA Today
we’ve got offseason news across the league so we’re going Coast to Coast starting in Boston fresh off the Victory Parade Chris STS porzingis underwent surgery to repair that left leg injury from the NBA Finals recovery time is expected to be 5 to 6 months meaning he’ll miss the start of next season Tim how big of a deal is this for Boston yeah I listen I think it’s a pretty big deal just from the standpoint five to six months that sounds very significant and that means they don’t really know what that time frame is going to be and this isn’t something where you say it’s a few weeks and you’re pretty sure how he’s going to look after that who knows what it’s going to be after that affects their regular season remember last year they lap the field in the East that won’t happen again now to Phoenix Kevin Durant trade rumors were in the air yesterday and sunm James Jones shut it down with an emphatic no team owner Matt ishbia said that same thing earlier perk can we put KD trade rumors to rest absolutely tuck him in and read him a badtime story look KD beef last year was with Frank voger Frank voger is gone now you have Mike boen hoser in there he get a Fresh Start KD is not going nowhere no time soon down to the 305 bam adabo intends to sign a three-year $66 million contract extension putting him under contract for the next 5 years no news however on a possible Jimmy Butler extension Zach what do you make of that bam is a winner you pay guys like bam bam is heat culture this extension will take them up to about age 3132 right through his prime Jimmy Jimmy situation maybe maybe a little quiet now now you know there’s been some reporting and I’ve heard the say that he just might play out his contract or go into the last year of his contract we’ll see that’s a dicey proposition that teams don’t like to do that TBD on that the Knicks weren’t done either Adrian Ro morowski reported that OG an anobi intends to sign a 5-year $212 million contract to remain in New York the Knicks traded for OG this winter and he was a hugee part of their success they went 26 and six including the playoffs with him in the lineup so here’s a look at the Nick’s potential rotation where they are now loaded on the wing with Bridges anobi dant chenzo and Hart to put around Brunson and Randall their Center rotation still needs some work with Isaiah hartenstein an unrestricted free agent who may be too pricey for New York now after trading for Mel Bridges and resigning OG and anobi New York has 8 to one odds to win the title which ranks third in the NBA behind only the Celtics and the Nuggets if you agree with the odds Tim how big of a threat do you think the Knicks are they’ve closed the Gap some I mean you got you can’t disrespect the Celtics and say they’re on the same level that’s just you just can’t do that based on what we just watch but they absolutely have to me now singled themselves out as clearly the biggest threat as we sit here right now knowing that Philly’s got some more stuff coming you think Milwaukee’s going to do some stuff to tweak their roster we know Orlando’s going to be better Cleveland got a new coach like Miami maybe they make a return to relevance but the New York Knicks Clearly Now are on that second rung all by themselves right and now the question is how much of a threat to to Boston Celtics and we’re going to find that out later on in the season when Boston is at full strength and the Knicks hopefully are healthy at that point and you get a better idea about this Bridges and anunobi match up with those two Wings on the Boston Celtics that’s really a lot of what this is about and unfortunately we’re not going to see Boston sounds like with poring is full strength till after Christmas or after the first of the year you’re going to know a lot more then I love this move I’m not freaking out about what they gave up you have a window of opportunity to get a player like that you go get him cuz I think he fits in perfectly with what New York wants to do on both ends of the floor in a vacuum and this didn’t happen in a vacuum in a vacuum five first round picks from Mel Bridges who’s never made an All-Star team and may never make one is too much but whether you like this trade for the Knicks or not depends on how real you thought they were last year when they had that run when they had an anobi and Randall and they just ran rough shot over everybody and then the injuries happened and we never quite got that level of dominance again they eak out a playoff series against Philly then injuries decimated them and you know what perk I’m with you it looked pretty damn real to me I think they were the second best team in the East last year when they were fully healthy and I think they’re better now than they were then if the gap between them and Boston was here it’s now here and when you have a star and a bunch of really good players in their late 20s like they do this is your window to go for it you cannot wait forever for the perfect Superstar to go get this is a good trade for the N it’s going to work out for the Knicks they’re going to be really really good and depending on what Philly does and that’s the big question of the offse I think the Knicks go in right now easily the biggest threat to the Boston Celtics and the East and and look let me let me say this we’re not overreacting because we know right but it’s a lot of people out there that’s not familiar with Mel Bridges because he’s not a quote unquote household household name and his borderline disrespectful at this point to even call him a role player when you talk about a one of the better two-way players in the game he’s known for spacing the floor at times and playing his role and knocking down threes but look at him attacking the basket right off the close out finishing in traffic he’s great at finishing around the basket he also could go to the low block and PST smaller people up here’s the Drew holiday effect right here right look at him awareness awareness he has long arms I mean he could tie his shoes standing straight up here it is keeping the defender right in front of him you looking at them strap up and this is not a contest he’s going to get that he’s going to block the shot and he has Pride about it again what the New York Knicks just what they just did in acquiring Mel Bridges is what Boston did when they got Drew holiday that’s the type of void he feels and that’s the type of player that that he is and the impact he could have on this New York Knicks team the Nova Knicks coming for the Boston Celtics [Music] [Applause] [Music] NBA is

The support and encouragement shown here are uplifting. It's like having a sisterhood of thinkers cheering each other on.β¨
Mikal was a steep price but they got Brunson on a good contract for essentially free so you maximize the luck, good evaluation, or Rick Brunson tampering and go get some instant chemistry as well as an in demand good wing in Bridges.
Smh the people thinking knicks are close to the Celtics are the same people that picked the mavs over the Celtics

If knicks didnt have so many injuries, this mightve been our year
1:21 Bam is a winner what did he win.?
People always focus on names.
Fact is Knicks were basically top 5 in offense & defenseβ and top 2 rebounding. That means they have a chance, like about 5 other contenders do.
Brunson has proven to be able to put the team on his back in the playoffs. If everyone is healthy & Randle has his playoff moment, Knicks will be tough to beat
People just donβt understand how big OG and Bridges are going to be in terms of defense against Tatum and Brown
Bam's extension will net him a lot of 304s in the 305.
KNICKS ARE NIOTHING WITHOUT HARTENSTEIN AND ROBINSON.
