The Houston Rockets Are Legitimately DEADLY…
all right boys welcome back to another video swaggy here today we’re talking some Houston Rockets smash the like button if you’re excited for me to be back posting daily on this team I’m super excited I did move to Houston so if anybody wants to lick up and watch a game when the season starts or just go out grab a drink I’m drinking a dois right now it’s currently 6:08 p.m. Friday just chilling talking about the AJ Griffin trade the Rockets gave up the 44th overall pick for Griffin he’s 20 years old to this point last season which was his sophomore season his efficiency was low you could tell that he wasn’t healthy he wasn’t exactly a ideal fit for the scheme that the Hawks were running so they end up trading him to the Rockets stone is hoping to get the rookie year version of Griffin who shot 39% from three on 3.6 attempts per game 47% from the field 89% from the free throw line 66 220 so he’s got the ideal size that the Rockets are looking for and because he’s 20 he fits into this timeline there has been talks around the league about Houston trading for Kevin Durant or trading for Jimmy Butler and Donovan Mitchell although obviously all of those guys would make this team better it just doesn’t make sense for the timeline of this team Mitchell of course is about to get paid so that wouldn’t really be great for the Rockets as well because they can just sort of Hope on the development of Jaylen green and since we’re talking about Jaylen Green in March he was honestly the best player in basketball and the advanced analytics backed it up there was nobody better in March than Jaylen green the thing about Jaylen is that he was hitting shots that he normally misses we talk about how Jaylen is one of the more athletic players in the league very few players can create the level of difficult shots that he does and in March Jaylen showed that not only can he score the basketball but he can rebound he can assist and he can defend and he became a much better leader give credit to Fred Van vet who came over in free agency you could tell that he was a huge mentor to jayen that was something that I kept pushing for the Rockets to do over and over again is add some reter to this team we know that they got Jeff Green of course they have Fred like I said you know Dylan Brooks is another guy Aaron holiday was a good pickup so Stone just filled out the roster nicely going into next season the Rockets just have to continue to develop their players I’m looking at cam Whitmore who played in what 47 games at the top of my head Ty een played in like 22 games and wasn’t healthy throughout those if this team can stay healthy and continue to get better Fred and Dylan these guys just need to continue to do their thing I thought Fred had an amazing season he had a kerine assist he shot the three ball very well from the field wasn’t exactly the most efficient but we know Fred’s out there to pass to defend and to knock down some threes I also personally thought that Dylan Brooks had a great season statistically speaking he wasn’t as good as I would have liked but from a leadership standpoint he was amazing from a culture standpoint he clearly helped change this around he always had the backs of these younger players and going the next season I expect him to be even better out there I mean you look at the Rockets they’ve got Jabari Smith Alper and shenon Jaylen green amen Thompson tar een cam Whitmore now they’ve got Reed Shepard and a couple of veterans that I like as well eay udoka was the biggest pickup in all of the offseason last year doesn’t matter if it’s a player or if it’s a coach he took a Rockets team that not to say had a bad culture because I don’t think that would be very fair but it was a team that clearly was lacking leadership at the head coach position it was a team that could not defend and it was a team that was a little little bit slow on offense the Rockets they had an actual system in play and we saw that in full display we saw guys again have a career year I’m looking at shenon who went out there in before he got injured which is in March and he was putting up an All-Star type of season I mean shenon was averaging what was it yeah 21 and N he also had Aur High 1.2 Steals on March 10th shangkun suffered a great three ankle injury and a spray knee he’d missed the remainder of the season but the Rockets still managed to win without him they put together a season long 11 game winning streak and a lot of that is because Jaylen green was heating up he was heating up even prior to shenon injur I hate how some people are like oh well Jaylen can’t play with shenu and look what happened when he got injured Jaylen was already on fire before shenu got injured which is something that a lot of people just leave out but this team just sort of found its identity and they were just playing high level of basketball it’s as simple as that and I expect them to be much better next season I think Reed Shepard is going to be a much bigger pickup than most people think I get it with was a weak draft but Shepard the reason why I like him so much is because he’s a lethal shooter he shot over 52% on pull-ups he shot what 53% from three he’s also very good defensively in the sense of getting in the passing lanes and being a pesky Defender average 2.5 steals per game which led the SEC Shephard’s young as well we know that he is a good sort of fit to a Rockets team that wants to get out there and shoot the basketball right when you’ve got Shang gun and green guys are going to draw a lot of attention so you’ve got to stay ready and shoot the basketball in terms of Jabari Smith he’s a guy that I haven’t really touched much upon during the draft I was talking to one of my friends Austin Tucker shout out if he’s listening and we both agreed that he would trade rather Jabari for Kevin Durant and when I went and looked at it I actually completely have changed my mind Jabari is the perfect fit for this team because his defense significantly improved he shot 36% from from Deep 81% from the free throw line 45% from the field not that that’s the best efficiency but he’s 21 years old he just turned 21 he rebounds the basketball well he had a stretch in December where he had double digit boards and seven out of 10 games he averaged almost 11 rebounds per game during that stretch he had another such surge in February where he hit double digit boards in seven out of 10 games but this time he averaged over 11 boards per game so you have a guy that can rebound the basketball at high level as we can see but he can also score the the basketball 34 and 13 on December 20th against the Hawks four of seven from Deep 14 of 14 from the free throw line we talk all the time about okay this guy’s not the best three-point shooter statistically but he can knock down his free throws which means he can only improve as a three-point shooter so I see Jabari being honestly I’m not going to say a 50 4090 guy but he can absolutely be a 5040 85 type of player which is absolutely beautiful for the Rockets a few nights after that game against the Hawks Jabari went for 26 and 11 and it went over the Pelicans 10 of 14 from the field four of five from deep and then of course he had 28 and seven March 31st against the Mavericks where he was 9 of 14 from the field five of seven from Deep Jabari has a lot of potential I get that palaban Caro was supposed to be a rocket that’s who we were hoping for at three he ended up going number one but Jabari is the perfect fit next to shenon amen Jaylen Brooks Dylan you name it Shephard right I mean this is a guy who defends rebounds knocks down the three ball and his only growing he so young I saw him actually interview Jason Tatum and ask him questions about being a better basketball player and Jason Tatum is certainly a guy that you would want to go ask that question to I mean as much as I hate to say that because I hate the Boston Celtics but I mean Tatum we know is one of the best players in all of basketball I want to talk about amen Thompson though before we get out of here because to me he is the most intriguing player on this roster which says a lot cu the Rockets have a lot of good players but Thompson we just haven’t seen a player like him I mean he’s about what 6’7 230 he’s quicker and stronger than everyone else on the court he’s a very good cutter incredible offensive rebounder and then on top of that we know that he can impact the offensive side of the ball without a jumper he shot 177% from three the thing about Thompson is his true shooting percentage was higher as a rookie than Klay Thompson’s entire career average it was higher than any season Russell Westbrook has had I get that the way those guys shoot and scores different but it proves that am men we talk all the time about oh he can’t shoot the three but he still is highly efficient because he attacks the basket guys and he dunks it and he gets to the free throw line so Thompson has Superstar potential he has all NBA type of potential I pretty sure he’s going to be an All-Star if he can stay healthy and this is something that the Rockets have been talking about inside of their locker um is that this guy is going to be that dude and I expect him to eventually be the full-time point guard for the Rockets we know that red has two years left in his deal one of them is a team option whether or not the Rockets end up picking it up or not it’s looking like a men’s going to be the future point guard which means that Jaylen and Shephard everyone’s just going to feed off him tar een cam Whitmore if these guys can stay healthy for 82 games if they can play in 70 plus I mean the Rockets to me are a playoff team they are absolutely not a championship Contender but they don’t have to be they just have to go and make the playoffs and continue to grow and grow and grow and eventually they’re going to get to a point where shenon is an All-Star Jaylen Green is is one of the best scorers in basketball Reed Shepard’s one of the best Shooters I’m looking at tar e who’s a Josh Hart type of impact guy Ken winmore with his shooting and three and D ability I mean this team is so exciting man if you’re a Houston Rockets fan like me you’ve got to be pumped up right now dude I’m so happy to be covering this team again for you guys

Rockets did what they meant to do. They built a team. Now we run it
Welcome to Houston bro, let’s hit a gane
Thanks 4 giving jabari his props. He deserves it. No one talked about how much better he got this last season.
Overload with young talent. Half of the roster is less than 24 years old. Love the blend and mix of young and veteran talent of the Rockets.
Reed Sheppard is a good choice, but not enough. Houston should trade Jaleen green…
