Kobe it’s Michael gr from Sportsnet uh congratulations on the big night and just just wondering did you have any indication that the Raptors were targeting you um did you end up working out for them in the draft process at all no I didn’t I didn’t know honestly um and I didn’t end up working out with him but I mean this this where I was supposed to be jacobe it’s uh John chy Hill from the Canadian press congratulations thank you uh how familiar are you with the Toronto Raptors and the the young core of quickley Barrett and Scotty barns yeah I mean I I’ve watched all of them play um collegewise and um NBA um Scotty you know big personality guy you know what he brings to the team all the energy um RJ um same with him uh you you know what he brings he can score the ball very well and then quickly just great point guard so um I think I’m fit in well with them and I’m super excited Jobe congratulations um can you take us through the day what it’s been like for you not just being drafted to the Raptors but being drafted to the NBA what did this moment mean to you uh it meant the world to me um me and my family have talked about this for a long time I prayed prayed so many times for just this moment right here so now it’s finally here um it’s just dreams into reality and I’m just grateful hey jacobe Eric Kine from the athletic congratulations uh how would you describe your game uh for people who haven’t seen much of you and uh how do you like to fit into teams um I consider myself a competitor um a scorer and a two-way player somebody that will sacrifice their body on the defensive end um and kind of just do whatever it takes to win hey Jobe Aaron Rose from asi.com is there something in your game that you’re hoping to show more of at the next level um yeah I just hope to show more of my shot creation um I think a lot of people forget that uh I can score the ball very well so um just I say that part of my game is what I’m trying to show more hey Jobe Adam wasar from The Daily Hive uh I understand you have a connection with Trey young um I was was wondering if you could talk a bit about sort of what he’s meant to do as a mentor and if there’s any other NBA players that have sort of helped you through this draft process yeah um me and Trey he he gave me the opportunity to play for his team so we have a great relationship uh he just always tells me stay locked in keep killing um I also I train with uh Dame’s trainer Phil Beckner so um being around both of them uh Dame talking to Phil talking to me just give me Insight on how to stay humble stay grounded and um just always stay in the gym don’t get complacent uh hey jacobe uh Chelsea late from Raptors HQ here uh congratulations and um have you ever been to Toronto and does anything in particular about playing for the Toronto Raptors in particular excite you as you now head to the team um no I never never even been in Canada before um it’s going to be my first time but I’m just super excited for everything honestly um I know the fan base is great A lot of support um I mean trying to win championships so yeah go Savannah Hamilton nbv Canada um what are your personal expectations when you join the rappers organization um just try to make uh immediate impact in any way I can uh whatever they need me to do coming in um I’mma do it for them and uh really just try to bring that winning intensity jaob so Doug Smith with TR star on the broadcast they mentioned your first name is a rather unique combination of two great basketball players as this sort of pre preand if you get to this point Sorry say that last part again pre-ordained that you got to this point with that first name of yours um I guess so yeah Jobe Ryan wad from the Toronto Sun congratulations I’m just wondering what the Raptors said uh when they gave you the call when you first talked to them um just that they’re super excited been watching film on me so uh they just think it was a perfect fit and um that we’re ready to get get to work yeah Jobe it’s Josh wenberg from TSN again I understand that you played football at a high level growing up what made you choose and fall in love with basketball uh just me traveling for the game um quickly fell in love with it more than football um and I started to just see more success on that side of the sport on that side what was your best position in football athlete I was every position good at every thanks for watching the Toronto Raptor YouTube channel check out our latest videos and subscribe for more Trent answers back Gary side step break got it
