The Charlotte Hornets Just SHOCKED the NBA…
as a Hornets fan it almost seems like there can’t be an NBA draft without us doing something absolutely crazy this year it was taking little Prospect tishon Salon I believe I pronounced that right with the sixth overall pick he’s 6’10 with a 72 wingspan but he is potentially the rawest player in this draft now we did get KJ Simpson in the second round made a good trade as well uh so we did like that and I can see the vision of all the length in the athleticism that they want in this lineup but holy cow I mean this guy you watch him and you just think oh man I mean he’s got solid three-point mechanics I’ll give him that he can stay on the wing and knock it down very high release point but he only shot 32% from three and that is something yes we see a lot of times with younger guys he’s already shooting from the NBA 3point l so that’s an advantage he has over the guys in college um but still he’s supposed to be a three and D Wing he only shoots 32% from three um upside yes but that did not look fluent at all the the thing that he is he’s a great cutter um and he really really high motor so that’s what he’s going to bring to this organization and playing alongside of lamelo ball there could be some very very highlight re worthy plays he’s got great raw athleticism just flat out beats this dude to the rim and lays it in um he usually finishes at The Rim that’s what I mean by highle finisher I don’t mean he’s Kyrie Irving with his finishing ability I just mean he he finishes at the rim and that’s for sure that was a very crafty one right there I would have liked to see him just dunk on it but he needs to add some weight to that frame right there I’ll meet you the RMA dunk on you um but he has an insane ceiling and that’s really what the Hornets took here at six trying to get the French Giannis I guess you could say um but 9.7 points per game 3.9 rebounds 0.9 assist and a steal and to say the least Hornets fans were not the happiest about it but hey we booed the pick last year 41% from the field 32% from three on 4.4 attempts per game in his pro career so far he does have defensive upside as we’ll see with that 7’2 wingspan here but I mean he’s not fantastic at defense uh probably the best the Hornets did was one draft KJ Simpson and then we also got three second round picks just to bring in Reggie Jackson who we’re going to cut um so I like those moves but Salon I mean that’s interesting and there’s definitely a new or New Direction for the Hornets last year we were 28th in points per game in offensive rating 22 in opponent’s points per game 29th in defensive rating and 30th in net rating losing games by an average of 10 points a game that is horrific and good thing those guys are gone we’re bringing a new coach new GM and hopefully we will be better next year we fired our um Sports Medicine head of sports medicine guy their athletic trainer hopefully lamelo Mark Williams will be better now will be more healthy because last year lamelo ball missed 60 games and he is the face of our franchise he cannot be missing that many games put some ankle braces or something on him and let’s go uh 24 points per game eight assists five rebounds 1.8 steals last year he can’t be missing the whole season if we’re going to try to win games 43% from the field 36% from three on nine attempts not very good at all however right before his second ankle injury that ultimately ended his season he went on an absolute tear 32 points a game over 37 minutes a game during that nine game stretch from November 5th to 22nd he also averaged almost nine assists almost seven rebounds shot 49% from the field and 44% from three on 10.4 attempts a game that is so promising for the Hornets however what is not promising lamelo only has one season with more than 50 games played in his four-year NBA career and for his career he only shoots 44% from the field and 37% from three so we need to get that up the other guy that missed a whole bunch of time this year Mark Williams averaged 13 points 10 rebounds and 1.1 blocks which was plus four points per game and plus three rebounds a game however he missed 63 games he only played 19 games this year come on I mean why can we not get our guys healthy 65% from the field 26 minutes per game I know injuries you can’t control them but that is just frustrating because we had a really good starting five depth was an issue we addressed it but we had a really good starting five uh and also Mark Williams has proven he is a centerpiece of this franchise that stretch he had before his injury put him out for the rest of the year showed he’s a franchise piece and this game against Washington on November 10th showed me that he’s a franchise piece 21 points 24 rebounds 15 offensive rebounds and 29 minutes Mark Williams if he can stay healthy can be a monster for the Hornets with that being said let’s take a break here make sure to like button leave me a comment down below and hit that subscribe button if you are enjoying today’s video at any point as you can see here a large majority of the people that watch these videos are not subscribed to the channel so if that is you go ahead and change that and with that being said let’s go ahead and continue on here looking at the franchise guy and if lamelo is going to keep getting hurt that means Brandon Miller is the franchise Center Cornerstone moving forward um you know you can have multiple cornerstones but right now Brandon Miller is that guy he’s the franchise piece 17.3 points a game 4.3 rebounds 2.4 assist as a rookie and I can see why he had Paul George as his goat his game really reminds me of Paul George not quite as smooth but I mean at 67 whatever he is can shoot can score in any type of way he was also selected at the Team USA select team so he’s going to be getting a lot better this summer hopefully and people booed when we pick Brandon Miller so hopefully you know the booze when we take or took Salon those are you know kind of warranted with the same thing that happened to Brandon Miller and he turns into a steel for us not a steel but a great player for us now we need to extend miles Bridges four years $100 million is what I’m thinking the contract’s probably going to look at which is cool because the Hornets have like 60 mil once we non- guarantee all these players contracts um we just wave Seth Curry he AAG 21 points 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this year so that’s very very good we need him back on the team next year he brought us three-point percentage up to 35% from 33% so if he continues at that rate he’ll be 39% in two seasons by the second year of that new deal um 46% from the field is good and he’s a great fit alongside of Lamela ball and Brandon Miller because they are both outside scorers for sure they really rely upon the three ball and that outside shooting miles Bridges is definitely a slasher he excels at The Rim kind of like ton salon and I think both of those guys could be really nice pieces for us in the long run now the bench unit the backup point guard spot is a especially concerning I guess you could say or you know worth talking about because we have three good backup point guards Trey man more of a combo guard but he averaged 12 points per game last year 5.2 assists 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game um lamelo like we said has not been healthy at all so we needs some insurance behind him there’s also visai meic who is a really good veteran point guard I really like him I think he should be the backup point guard next year 10.8 points a game 6.2 assist and two rebounds Off the Bench Force this year I love me’s game uh just a you know very very smart high IQ player Off the Bench and then in the long run KJ Simpson will eventually be our backup point guard I like him a lot as an Andrew NIMH hard type player kind of undersized but just a pro score if he was 6’4 instead of 62 he’d been a first round pick you see the numbers there 43% from the three-point line and like I said if he had two more inches pause he would have been a first rounder but he’s just 6’2 with a 64 wingspan which is why he will probably be a backup point guard in the NBA for the length of his career maybe he turns into a jayen Bronson that’s best case scenario but he will be a very very high level backup point guard don’t get me wrong I love the pick there of KJ Simpson at 42 Now Grant Williams another guy off the bench that was good for the Hornets last year like we said we addressed the bench at the deadline 13.7 points game for him five rebounds three- point2 assist in 31 minutes of night Nick Richards Cody Williams also very viable options Off the Bench and they’re both on very very Team friendly contracts and then Nick Smith Jr the rookie that kind of uh exploded onto the scene last year at times could really score the ball from outside shot 43% from three on three attempts in 15 minutes a game we like that a lot six points per game and then also oh we had the Reggie Jackson trade and when w first reported it I don’t know if y’all saw it but it said the Hornets traded three second round picks for Reggie Jackson I was heated I threw my phone across the room because I did not know what we were doing but then he corrected it we got three second round picks to bring in Reggie Jackson who will eventually cut and I like that a lot free agency there are a couple of things we need to do uh we need a three and D Wing Off the Bench for sure that can really shoot it if we want to be contenders next year I think Salon probably starts off in the G League maybe we’ll see um and we need a serviceable shooting guard that can start um unless we wanted to run Brandon Miller at the two and then figure things out with like Grant Williams at the four we will see I don’t like this lineup too much I’m not going to lie but we’ll see what they cook up going forward with that being said that’s going to be it for today’s video thank you so much for watching This video looks at the Charlotte Hornets and their interesting draft selection of Tidjane Salaun to pair with their current core of LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges and Brandon Miller

Please note this video was made and posted before NBA free agency started so it was before any potential Miles news.
6 seed next year 😳
Healthy LaMelo and B Milly could be duo of the future but wait in see how everything develops..
Idk why people were mad at the Tidjane pick, he averaged the same amount of PPG as the #1 pick in the same league. He’s 18 years old and is already 6’9 with a 7’2 wingspan. He may end up being 7’0. He needs to get his handle right for sure though.
