georgean free agency which begins tonight at six o’clock so we’ll discuss that we’ll also discuss if Paul George does come here what can we expect from the success yeah and then thirdly we’ll talk about other free Asian Parts talk about Tobias Harris who could end up somewhere else today so we’ll talk about that next now Mitch what’s your hunch bro I mean what’s your hunch with P PG pg3 PG13 yeah I think um you know talking to certain folks who are very close to that situation um feeling um is that PG is quite possibly the 76ers to lose you know I’m hearing that he’s very interested um in possibly playing for the 76ers and well not possibly in playing for the 76ers um of course it’s early in the day free agency doesn’t start till what 6: pm today um you know and things could change they could muck it up but maybe they won’t uh and let’s be quite honest about it the the cupboard is pretty bare with the free agents now I mean you know you see this flurry of activity the Bri who was kind of off the table anyway but just kind of a talking P talking point uh LeBron’s off the table Jimmy Butler looks like he’s um kind of content South Beach uh and Paul George has been the apple of their eye um as you have been reporting quite some time now so you know from what I’m hearing and and and I trust where you know I trust these folks this yeah I I think he’s a 76ers to lose so I do think that when the free agency begins um I think Paul George is a 76 I don’t know how long the process takes for them they hope it takes it doesn’t take much very long at all but I think we may be gathering here you know to talk about Paul George tyres Maxi and Joel embiid and you know the trium that they should be for me yeah exactly now the same thing I’m hearing the same so you know the thing is people were like yo you know Source hit me up was like yo Paul Paul is leaving right he’s opting out I’m like okay he’s leaving okay wa what that mean like oh no he ain’t coming back but then again you know you realize that the thing about Paul George is Paul George is adamant about one in the fourth year right yeah the and this is you know I hate to be repetitive but the Clippers only wanted to give him three years around 152 whatever it was right he wanted the fouryear max they didn’t want to give it to him the Sixers will offer him four years $212 million that’s what they that’s what they willing to do so he’s adamant about that even though he lives in La his mom and them he’s from LA area his mom and them all all there his mom goes to every game his mom and dad but he’s Adam about that now the fact that he opted out now here’s the thing we both know the Sixers are the favor right but what if what if the Clippers offer him that fouryear thing now they say they didn’t want to do it they didn’t he wanted it but if they don’t all but if they offer him that fourth year does he stay and to me that’s the question yeah but outside of that I believe what everybody says and everybody thinks he’s gone in there too but Mitch if they offer him that fourth year that that could be it yeah but you know I think if they if they offer him that fourth year it’s kind of like you know they only gave they gave kawhai three years yeah and I think that I mean Kawai is a two-time champion you know um kawhai is a better player when available so you know I I think it’s almost kind of a respect thing and you know and if they were I think if they were going to make that move I think they would have reached that agreement at some point by now you know I I I think that we wouldn’t be talking about that the speculation wouldn’t be out there and I mean I mean just from some of the things that were out there uh you know you know I just want to go somewhere where they play the right way you know we read a lot into that you know the 76ers are you know I think Shan’s report the 76ers no longer are pursuing him to the degree that they were pursuing him yeah told me don’t go don’t believe that yeah and I and I think that um you know I mean obviously he wants to his heart his heart wants to be in LA but I think as much as his heart is that you know that $53 million in that last year you know of a fouryear deal is is is a lot more appeeling hey man you know Mom I’ll fly you I’ll fly you to the games if you want to get there you know I’m sure you had sometime so um so so again I’m pretty I’m pretty I’m pretty well dug in he’ll be a 76er um yeah you know if not at I mean because obviously you know he’s giv courtesy meetings you know um but the gold state thing was off the table that would have kept him in Northern Cali at least so um yeah it looks like the 76ers may get their guy you know now who you know who they’re getting who they will who they you know obviously they going to be the health concerns um because he’s 34 and he’s missed 140 games to injury and rest over the last five seasons but he did playing 74 last season and uh you know even like over that five stretch he’s appeared on the average of 53.2 two uh games per season so um you know we hey the sers the sers have been fishing and everybody else has been catching their fish you know the New York Knicks have been catching their fish Indiana Pacers appear to be getting to catch a fish that they had their eye on uh and other fish have just moved on to a different area of the ocean and they’re not interested in what they had to dangle so you know it looks like if you know they they honed in on Paul George and it sounds like Paul George is honing in on him of course if you know the one thing that could throw a wedge in that would be for the Clippers to offer you know that fourth year I think I think that would that would be the six Titanic I got a question for you though is it a serious answer you see I got my Run DMC joint okay you’re the king of rock yes okay so so let let me see the bottom I see the top say king and rock what does it say in the middle DMC fresh for you yeah yeah yeah yeah fresh fresh fresh you all right you but list here’s my thing Mitch like real quick because I know we getting ready to go into the break in a little bit but but here’s my here’s my uh question to you real quick so you can look at it two ways the Clippers could come back at you and be like look they probably won’t but they could if they say we going to give you that fourth year yeah do you go from the standpoint be like look man y’all had an opportunity to do it a while ago I’m out yeah yeah um yeah I think that’ be a consideration like you know why put me through this you know if you want me that badly I know I miss business and he understands that and you know you know you saw High uh you you know you know we go low you go low we go High um but I I I don’t think there would be any bitter feelings toward the Clippers I I think he would you know I I that’s what he wants he wants that fourth year and if he wants it in h Los Angeles so I I could see him saying you know that’s why I saying that’s but I just don’t think that they’re going to do that I don’t think that Clippers are going N I think I think I think you know what and no offense to them I think if you do that you might have a problem with Kawai right who’s saying look I took three years like you know this is what y’all was saying yeah and now it’s like yeah I think I think that’ll be a problem yes think that’ll be a problem I took years he doesn’t have to say but he’s the better player he’s got the championship cache you know and so we’ll talk about that a little bit more on the other side right the NBA champs they’re gonna be the defending champs yeah Dynamite Squad the New York Knicks are the deepest team in the NBA right now like yeah there no question about it no question about it got some dogs on that team yeah they got the Nova the Nova Knicks they call them but they got more than that they got some dogs PG with the addition of PG where’re the Sixers rank to you um uh they now are if if well there’s a caveat I’ll get to in a moment that we can’t we always have to get to when talking about this team I think that you you bring PG in here and PG performs up to Snuff I I think they’re right there with him because you know you can all the one thing I look at if if if you put if you put them head-to-head against the Knicks who’s the best player in that series you know I would say Joe lmb um I would say the second uh the second best player would probably be Brunson um and and then and right behind him is then then you either say you know the next two and I love me some Mel Bridges and I love me some OG anobi but I think I take the combo of of uh Tyrese Maxi and Paul George and say the 76ers have three of the top four players in in in that pairing um you know of course you know M I think Mel bridg is very underrated I think he’s in hell of a situation um with his perimeter defense defense um of course thibo will grind him down and he’ll probably miss some games because you know thibo have some games where he plays them all 48 minutes and TI tibs um who I like because he’s old school but he just grinds his players down I remember you know he did that in Chicago he did that in Minnesota so so if they stay healthy which is the caveat if the 76ers can get Paul George to be on the floor uh and to stay healthy and he into his credit played in 74 games and again we’re putting Carriage before the horse because something but we’re being theoretical we’re being we hyperbolic right now so so that’s fine so I think um you know uh yeah I I would put the 76ers ahead of them if they can continue to fill that roster R because you know while I do like that that they’re big three that’s still pretty much all they have where the Knicks have a complete you know the Nicks Nicks have Nicks have a roster to envy you know um and and and they they had demonstrated more dog in the 76ers yeah and and and I guess the caveat that you talked about is Joel and be’s Heth right that’s always a cave ey yeah that that that’s always that you know I I look at it I also want to figure out you know who else they bring in here right like I also think that I I believe that if you go out and get those guys and especially how Paul George on his podcast when he was talking about how remember where he said how important it was to have Nico baton yeah Robert Robert ctan he said it was nothing against James but when we lost Robert coven and and Nico we lost a lot right yeah I feel like with the fact that and be really want to Nico the fact that um you know uh Paul George talking about the importance of you gotta go get him yeah you have to get him and he has to be your power forward yeah right he has to be and now I don’t know like Covington last time he played was December the 30th so I don’t know if he’s anything he’s rested he’s rested but I don’t know if they want to I mean who knows maybe but um but like you know those are the type of guys that they need they need some defensive minded wings but again you know I feel like what that does is and Paul is right A lot of people he criticism because he they were saying what you don’t want to be a two-way player you got to do this you got to do that well the thing is you want to make sure that he’s rested he’s this and that and if you have role players that can do it and he can Excel and then of course like in the games make stops get them on to other people but you’re going to need him to provide that balance as well I think if they could get Nico if they can get some other guys I think they probably can can contend but again like I don’t think it’s going to be easy I don’t think that they just roll out the ball and all of a sudden right they’re competing with these teams right you know these teams are younger they’re more healthier yeah and let’s face it Boston has that Moxy they’re the champion so but I but I do think that he does make them now here’s the deal if they don’t get them nah man they they’re battling the Milwaukee Bucks they’ll be at they’ll be lucky to battle the Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers for the battle to be the third best team in the East yeah you know yeah it’s extremely vital that they get this guy like and they know that I mean he means the world to them his his addition means it and they better and then you know let’s face it if you get him Daryl muray always said if you get a max type of player and you have Maxi and embiid then there’s going to be more players who want to play with you who GNA want to come here and may take the minimum for that yeah and it have there have to be players again if you know if in fact Paul just Paul drew a situation works out the way we believe that it will uh you know you know you have to get some other bodies in here and you’re right I mean walk I think Dame will be better next year I think I I really like Indiana man I like I like Indiana you know um and and they’ve got players who are gonna continue to get better I think that Maxi continues to be um a Rising Phoenix a player who has I mean I he had three 50-point games last season I think it was yeah yeah he has he he’s he’s 23 years old man he’s you know the sky is the limit for that kid and we’ve had conversation here about do they begin building around Maxi already because of his availability but again you know the caveat this Joel and um if if this Triumph does come together let’s beg Joel to go vegan you know you come back from Paris and go vegan man and let let that 280 in the media guide not be a myth but let it be reality and they could have something said you could finally you could finally have something special if this all comes together he comes in play in shape doesn’t use the first month and a half of the regular season to play himself in shape he’s probably if he does hear this if he watches our podcast he’s probably tired of hearing me say that but somebody’s got to say it to him yeah no doubt no was funny because like it’s like Lincoln towns it’s because you used to think of like the Lincoln Town Car like Smooth he was a 400 meter Runner yeah I used to look up to him like he not he probably never knew that but he was he was pretty good you know of course they had will Reed but then that Central that was Central no I’m saying from Philly but but over BR had a s the coach was good now who was the one man what’s the let let me correct you oh our coach was great Rosen r n Mr Rose Mr Rose Mr Rose is one of the greatest coaches in the history of this city in any sport at any level but I digress I have to give my man his props yeah he was the man but let me tell you this he turned Central into a power so who you think is the best all right see now here we go we yeah he did but who did you think was the best guy well the best guy that I’ve seen that come out of over yeah all drumming all okay okay okay all right I’m about to see about to see I mean probably and you know when I go on social media later on some of some of some of my Brook hairs would be like yo you forgot you know because they’ve had a number of Olympians man yeah they had number but see drum but the funny thing about Drummond like correct me if I’m wrong but Drummond like kind of ascended when he left Brooke like he was the man he was good but once he got the Brooke because remember he went to TCU dude and I’m sorry y’all we gonna get on the NBA in a second um but when he was at TCU they was known as the stick shifters right yeah or the flying frogs because stick shifters because they let off with the slow dude who wasn’t slow then the next leg was the second fastest third fastest or or excuse me the third fastest second leg second fastest third and then boom but this was a 4 by two oh man they were rolling but then they were flying frog so drumming yeah I I say that but that’s enough track and field stuff Tobias Harris so Tobias Harris is you know meeting with teams as well and going to meet with teams as well in LA you know there was a there was a point where it seemed like the Front Runners to get him were Detroit and Utah um there’s other teams out there but unfortunately a lot of squads don’t have the money yeah that you know he would like or but here’s a guy I think that you know I think I I wish him a lot of luck I mean I think that he can go somewhere and and probably fit in I know in Philadelphia a lot of people are thinking about the last game played you know they saying man zero points you know this and that but I feel like that his body of work over his NBA career this might impact this might impact his money but when you look at his his uh the analytics he has body of work I feel like that he’ll be okay somewhere else right and I think that for him if I’m him I’m extremely motivated wherever I end up at right because I want to prove to people that I’m better than what people in Philadelphia think I am and I and I do think that he is yeah but I think that unfortunately it’s just not a lot of money out there for a lot of teams so it might be one of those things where you know who knows what happened it could be a sign in trade it could be this it could be that but you know it’s just not a lot of money now do I think that he’s in he’s probably going to Garner to 39 million he made no no no but but but I could see him you know getting still getting paid it just won’t be close to the max yeah yeah Tobias is gonna bring value somewhere you know he I mean he reminds me his contract reminds me of a player that I covered um guy who really broke the market and one time told me you know if they’re offering me the money why wouldn’t I take it that was Jaan Howard and Jaan it was years agoan signed what I think was $109 million contract um which today sounds like nothing um but 20 some odd years ago it was a great deal to have you know and uh you know and that those that’s exactly what he told me I was like hey I’m not questioning if you can get it get it you know and so that’s kind of you know Tobias is that kind of play I mean when he was with the Clippers it was like man a guy was shooting close to 40% from the threo line he was the was he was he was a hell of a player man it just it just didn’t work out and that happens with a lot of guys they go somewhere and it’s like you just never live up to it we do know that that this the 706 there’s been a boatload of dysfunction um you know you know and before he got here when he arrived and and there was not you know since he’s you know it hasn’t been that bad lately it’s just that you know he was always expected I I had had this conversation with my brother and he couldn’t see past the money Z point for $39 million and I’m like yeah I get it you know I get it but I think Tobias will land somewhere uh you every now you hit this what would me a do but you he’s going to land somewhere and be a valuable player he’s going somewhere to start yeah and here’s the thing though people forget um when Jimmy Butler before the playoffs started like first Jimmy Butler’s first game he was balling first couple games like I know he went to Charlotte he had 30 something points H the game winning three then he goes to Brooklyn he hits a game winning three from basically the same spot the crowd was a everybody was cool then next thing you know we in the middle of January Jimmy Butler scoring three points and people like y Yoo was checking out it was kind of like they had him in the corner he wasn’t getting the ball so then Tobias come you know then Tobias signs that money and he’s standing in the corner so I’m here to say like while yes it’s the player like Tobi you can blame the player it’s also you got to be utilized the right way and what happened is when the playoffs started they gave Jimmy the ball and then Jimmy start making stuff happening and and then all of a sudden everybody start raving over him but if you look back at it there was times where he was standing over in the corner he wasn’t getting shots he wasn’t doing anything and people are like I don’t know about bull I don’t know about him so that’s what it is so Tobias will be fine um but it’s just to me the reason why he can’t come back and you never say never but the reason why he can’t come back is just because the way the fans and you know I don’t think they will stand for it and I don’t think that this is a place that he would want to play I mean just because of it was a crazy situation dude you know one thing you want to consider Keith um uh the safety that the Eagles bought back who dog the Philly fans not long after he got out here went Detroit His Name Escapes me right now um you know but you know he’s come back and now the uh this the Eagles are talking about having a star quality secondary that remains to be seen but I mean I think people now are are learning to let bygones be bygones um you talking about slle no not slle um I’ll tell you his name in a second uh or maybe I won’t um uh but the guy from Detroit e now it’s bothering me CJ CJ Gardner John yeah the ball yeah yeah yeah remember he left here and he was hurt for most of his time in Detroit but he looked like he like the second coming of Ronnie lot minus the impact hits you know when he was here in that that that year you know last year’s collapsed so so I think you know so you can you let bygones be bygones if if you want listen if you want a championship sometimes you got to swallow your pride that goes for the fans as well yeah we’ll see but yeah we’ll see but hey all I know is it seems like from what we both have that Paul George is the Sixers are the front runner to get uh Paul George so we’ll see what happens we’ll see how these meetings go um and we’ll see if he changes his mind but as of right now or you know it appears that the Sixers have a great chance of adding Paul George and making the postseason Splash yeah that Daryl M definitely had to make he definitely needs one he def yeah definitely had to make this if not I can see what with John’s gonna be talking about come Monday morning oh man oh man let’s listen listen there’s a tropical storm headed our way let’s
