  1. “I wish I could find someone like you.. just not you” – everyone to the Lakers

  2. Mister-Stiglitz

Why does a person with that much money care about taxes.

  3. CarolinaKing704

The doomers are still gonna blame Pelinka and the front office. 😂

  4. nottherealstanlee

The why don’t matter to me. He turned down more cash here for Dallas. He don’t wanna be here? Fine. We good. On to the next.

  5. Aggravating_Pea3882

This for everyone saying Rob ain’t doing shit lol bro did not wanna come to the lakers.

who cares, this guy is 35 years old one alc and achilles injury , luka defense is bad and kyrie isnt going to get any better after the awful finals performance

  7. rybeegood

He saved the lakers from themselves tbh if that 80M is true

  8. guacdoc24

Another California transplant in Texas. Smh

  9. Supyloco

Pure leverage. Why do players always do this?

  10. AdVegetable9992

Not all lakers fan are really into klay, including me so it is not that big deal. I prefer to get young than washed player. Dont go for big names and go for the correct role player.

I’m fine with this outcome. I’m fine that they considered Klay and I’m fine with him deciding to go to Dallas as they might have better odds to reach the finals over the course of that 3 year deal.

  12. Elite_Alice

Fuck man. I just knew we’d get him because of his dad.. could’ve been a legend

  13. haluthere

It was a fucking cinderella run. Pretty sure it will not happen again this season.

  14. EddyWouldGo2

In other words, he went with the most money.

  15. Bigpoppalos

Klays a dumbass if he think mavs will return to the finals. Specially with a defense that features himself ky and luka

  16. GabeCo248

Crazy man Boston has 5 players earning 30 million and 2 of them about 50 million a year. Yet the Lakers have no cap room

  17. EddyWouldGo2

The best thing about this is Mavs will probably have to blow up the team and we’ll have a chance at Luka.

  18. EverybodyBuddy

That Mavs finals run was fools gold. If we got past the Nuggets we crush Dallas.

  19. randompanda687

Lmao after other costs, Texas isn’t even cheaper than California. But tbh 4 years of paying him 20M would have been terrible so its all good

  20. Jscott1423

This just in: we don’t give a fuck. It’s a blessing not to have him. If you can make $80,000,000 in 4 years after being washed and shooting 0/10 in an elimination game based on your name.. I’ll just change my name to Klay and sign.

  21. madvisuals

i have a feeling the Mavs are not going back to the Finals. fuck your 3 victories away.

  22. TheWonderfulLife

Bro is saving 16% on his state taxes on his reportable income… that’s it. Fucking absolutely not a real factor. Stop 😂

  23. Tipofmywhip

You could just copy and paste the very first sentence to every single free agency the past few years.

  24. Financial savings?

I guess if he doesn’t buy a home. Highest property taxes in the country. Texas doesn’t have state taxes (but state taxes aren’t typically a ton yearly). Other than that, it’s not like there’s some massive savings.

  25. WargreymonIsCool

Imagine paying 80M for a player rated 74-76

  26. MReprogle

Not that I feel that Klay tips the scales for this team, but at what point are leagues going to start changing things up so that teams that are in states that lack income taxes don’t have such an advantage. It seems insane that there are a handful of teams that get to operate with such an advantage. They should either lower those team’s salary cap to make up the tax benefits that they get, or allow other teams to increase their salary cap to make things even.
