Spurs Targeting Lauri Markkanen Trade

Spurs Targeting Lauri Markkanen Trade

going on everyone so the Utah Jazz has made Lori marinin available for trade for the right price uh they are currently listening to offers from a plethora of teams doesn’t necessarily mean that they are going to trade Lori Markin in just Danny a doing his due diligence just saying hey you know if you give me the right offer if you’re blow me away he’s yours he can be had for the right price it’s just how Danny a operates period right unless he you’re part of the long-term plan he’s willing to trade you no one’s Untouchable uh if the price is right and Lori marinin he’s looking at as not Untouchable uh for the right price and look he’s an excellent talent that could fit with pretty much every team in the league talking about him still being 27 years old he’s a real seven-footer right could play basically the two through five uh just with that height you you probably don’t want to play him much at the five but his ability to play it in spots and in moment can go a long way and his just ability to spread the floor still maintain uh having a seven-footer out there uh and this is a guy that can shoot it light it up right he’s a guy that uh from three-point range is basically a 40% three-point shooter I mean even for his career he’s a 38% last year he was 39.9% so essentially a 40% three-point shooter on eight attempts per game so high volume shot 55.9% from two-point range on eight attemp per game had an EFG of 57.8% free throw percentage of 90% uh contributed to eight rebounds two assists one steal and half a block uh with 23.2 points in 33 minutes of play time so again guy that can be he’s not your first May most likely not even your second best player on a contender but as like your third best player would be absolutely Fant fantastic and one of the teams that are linked to Lori marinin are the San Antonio Spurs now he makes a ton of sense for the Spurs and if the Spurs can get him in a Spurs jersey that would be huge right because you could slot him at the four right alongside Victor wanyama and then have Victor’s ability to stretch the floor along with Lori Markin him and then still you know have like Chris Paul at the point vassel at two castle at the three let me cook right like that would just be that would be a fun team to watch like seriously fun team to watch to have Chris Paul just wheeling and dealing out there you know dishing it out to Lori Markin and Victor whama uh however if the Spurs were to go get Lori right couple things one what’s the cost right two what’s the competition and with that demand for Lori marketing cuz again he’s a guy that can basically be Plug and Play anywhere he doesn’t need the ball in his hands he’s effective uh you know he’s just he’s a constant threat out there patrolling out on the perimeter he’s just a real impact guy that is also very cheap so the thing or at least for now he’s going to get a uh a contract extension and that contract extension is not going to be cheap at all he is going to get an absolute bag but for the moment he’s only making 8 18 million um which you’d have to work at a new extension if you were to trade for him but at$ 18 million right it wouldn’t take much to trade for him at all and pretty much every team in the league can trade for Lori marinin at that point so he’s a guy that I just I think that there’s going to be a ton of competition that could be an obstacle for the Spurs to get into but if you do end up Landing Lorie Markin in to me you you have to push your chips in right because Lori marinan yes is still young right he just turned uh 27 in May but he’s 27 right and he’s a guy that you know if you’re pairing him alongside Victor wh minyama you have two very talented seven-footers to me it’s like go get that other piece or two right really like I’m not saying you have to get it this season not saying you have to push all your chips to the table and go get you know another Superstar or something immediately but you do need to start kind of positioning yourself and keeping tabs and eyes out for who are you adding and contributing rather than the slow rebuild process because again Lori marketing you don’t want to wait three four years for you to finally get to that point and it’s like Lori Markin in is you know in his 30s and and and you who knows where he’s at what he’s capable of doing he’s had some injury concerns right this is a guy that you know has played 55 to 60 games pretty much his whole career this isn’t a guy that is basically a lock for 80 games a season you look at last year he played um in 55 games the year before that he played in 66 then 61 51 50 52 and 68 so he’s never played 70 plus games so what does he look like you know several years from now right you want to get him and you want to bring him in and have him be a guy that immediately has an impact fits seamlessly alongside Victor whama doesn’t take away from Victor whama and you know you got Chris Paul if you can go get a piece even with Chris Paul and now you have your playmaker because Chris Paul still I think has it he’s not you know you know the the point God that he once was but he is a guy that still can as like your fifth best player sixth best player right like yeah he 100% could could still have a very good impact um if he’s really allowed to playmake and and be on ball which is what the Spurs need right obviously the Spurs they want to share the ball they want to move the ball they don’t want it to be too stagnant but to have the ability to kind of just spread wide know and just play five out offense and have basically all five at the three-point line and then just let Chris Paul kind of wheel and deal and and get guys where he wants I mean it’s tough it would it’d be tough so Lori Markin in to me is one of the better fits right I I I still like the idea of going and getting like a Darius Garland if he becomes available I mean technically I mean if the Spurs really wanted to they could get both you go get Darius Garland and go get uh Lori marinin and have those three basically your big three for the future have Chris Paul Come Off the Bench and just kind of be a mentor and go with like Garland uh you know vassel castle marinin and uh Victor whama I mean that be pretty tough it’ be pretty nice if you could work something out swing that um but again it just to me it’s like what what do the Spurs have to give up right because you don’t want to give up any of like your key significant pieces like do do you really want to trade uh you know Stefan Castle to get Lori marketing now some people might but but to me I just if Lori Markin in was 24 sure right but 27 it’s like do you really want to trade a guy that you could have for the next 15 20 years for a guy that again what does he look like in three years it’s a guy that hasn’t played 70 games in a season right so what does that look like now to be fair to Lori marinan some of those were you know circumstantial right like Lor Markin was healthy and you know Utah’s tanking and they’re just sitting him just for the sake of sitting him and you know other places and destinations he was at kind of did a lot of the same thing so it’s not it’s not all just like him getting hurt and missing 40 games right it’s been a combination but it’s not like he hasn’t been hurt and it’s it’s been more of like oh he got hurt yeah maybe he don’t he’s only going to miss five games but let’s push it to 10 let’s push it to 15 type thing that’s usually what it is but I just look and envision the Chris Paul coming up the court you got Lori on one side you got Victor on the other side and those are your two SF Footers right like just think of how fun that would be and how just just the different looks and the mismatches that you could create with that you know like most like you look at a team like Minnesota right yeah they have two bigs but they don’t have two bigs that can step out and spread the floor the way they do not true seven-footers right yeah like like they got like Nas Reed that they could swap out Rudy goar for but he’s not you know a seven-footer you know how many teams have two seven Footers that can basically do everything and shoot the basketball and you know put it on the deck and go get a bucket or hit the mid-range or it just and then Lori Markin in’s ability to make a play and pass as well as well as Victor right to have those two seven-footers side by side and they can basically play off of each other right and then Lori Marin’s ability to as I mentioned earlier not take away from everything else right not take away from the development of guys or allowing other guys to get shots and opportunities allowing Victor wanyama to be Victor whama right Lori marketing gets to come in and he gets to be that effective off ball player constant threat that he is that you know teams can’t leave open but also like you know you got Victor down low who’s an incredible mismatch and it’s like okay well what do you do double him knowing that Lori marketing could just light you up right like start putting those pieces together start putting the pieces to the puzzle the Spurs could be tough like real tough um know does Markin in make the Spurs a a championship team no I don’t believe so you know I just think that they they’re still would be incredibly young still have a lot of growth and know you got you you’d be relying on a lot of rookies and stuff right or second-year players in Victor’s case so I don’t think that they would be like a contender but I think they’d definitely be a playoff team and I don’t think that they would be far right I don’t I think you know you get the right piece or two and depending on the strides that Victor himself takes I don’t think you I don’t think it’d be one of those things where it’s like ah man there there’s still another three pieces I think you know there would probably be a piece maybe two away at that point right so I I don’t know I really like the idea if they can land Lori Markin in I think you do it uh like I said it depends on the it depends on what the cost is and I do have the concerns of all these teams throwing their hat in the ring there’s like 10 reported teams that really is going to drive up the price right and you get two many cooks in the kitchen everyone wants to prepare their dish like you know do the Spurs just go ah it’s not even worth it right let’s just just let them you know tear at each other and we’ll just we’ll just wait for the next thing right CU they can be patient right they’re not in a in a rush to where it’s like we got to get this done ASAP but anyway as always this is a discussion pass question on you let me know your thoughts and opinions down in the comments below what do you think how do you feel what are your thoughts do you like the idea of going after Lori marketing you think no stay away from Lori marketing go get somebody else there’s other better targets out there uh again however you feel whatever your thoughts are I’d love to hear it so let me know down in the comments below that being said if you haven’t liked this video hit that like button helps me a lot so me The San Antonio Spurs signing of Chris Paul was huge but Spurs Trade For Lauri Markkanen would be incredible Spurs News. Lauri Markkanen alongside Victor Wembanyama would be unfair.

  1. What? Even if Markkanen was 23 the Spurs wouldn't trade Castle for him. Markkanen will never be an all-star, never be a top 2 or 3 player on the team. He can't even play a whole season (averaging about 56 games per season on 7 seasons). His defense is not that great. Whereas Castle is exactly the kind of player the Spurs like at both ends of the floor (he just needs to improve his shot) and he has potential to have a higher value than Markkanen on the team and in the league. Sure, Markkanen will be a BIG help to the Spurs as a scorer for a few years, but Castle can be part of the Spurs long-term strategy to build a dynasty.
I'm still interested in the Spurs getting Markkanen, I just don't think having him on the team is a guarantee of anything. He has to stay healthy and he has to have chemistry. As for Chris Paul playing with Markkanen and Wemby, we all thought that Paul would set the league on fire with the Clippers, having Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan for "Lob City." That did not work as well as we all expected. But still, that doesn't mean it won't work in San Antonio. Victor is an alien and Markkanen is a very good outside shooter, so I'm hopeful. I would make an offer but not give away the farm.

  2. they are speeding up things and that's not good for the rebuild they should be patient and go the OKC way of rebuild

  3. Well 1 win8ng team needs stars but quality role players as well have you seen the Mavs and the nuggets during play off and all this with salary cap in mind
All teams h1ve a big center now or stacking the paint with a second one or a 4
