After initial discussion between the sides, a Heat follow-up on DeRozan is expected in next 24 hours. There’s no indication Miami would move mountains to sign him but they’ve said they like him (especially if at bargain).

“Especially at a bargain” has quelled my expectations

Not that I’m begging for DeMar on the team but this does feel like we’re getting used as leverage for his negotiations with another team.

Pat on the phone like ā€œwe will give you 1 second round pick…..hello are you still there?ā€

I can’t believe I’m begging for Derozan to join my team

  5. IamRaith

Yeah it’s not happening. Fit would probably be bad too

This front office has dugged themselves the deepest of holes of which they can’t ever seem to climb out of

Nothing will happen lol. Just the yearly offseason of blue balling some fans for a move.

This feels like a move to help them get a top 6 seed in the regular season because they expect Jimmy to miss a bunch of time and Derozan can come in and give you 20.

It’s a poor fit in the playoff with Bam and Jimmy, maybe they move Duncan for him just to switch it up but idk. Would Derozan be willing to come off the bench?

Does Barry actually have real sources or is he just Mr. Speculation?

Demar becomes our primary scorer with Jimmy slotting into an awesome second guy.

Duncan and Terry as your spacers.

Bam/Ware running screens and being lob threats.

I don’t love it but dammit I’d applaud moving Herro and at least the team realizes that build didn’t work.

Unless he is signed. I’m not gonna believe it yet.

We need scoring desperately and Demar can bring that. He’d be our 3rd or 4th best player immediately.

  12. I don’t see the point of this move honestly. More importantly, I’m really worried about them giving up what little assets they have left. I’d rather just run it back.

I just don’t get how people don’t want him. How many times did we rely on our outside shooting just for it to fail us over and over and over last year and in turn go 4, 5, 6+ minutes without a basket? DeRozan fixes that, especially in the 4th. We would probably keep one of Terry/Tyler, keep Dunc/Jovic/Love, still have Pelle, and Bam is still improving his shot. The spacing would be an issue initially but that’s what we have the best coach in the league for.

On top of that, it’d probably just be a one year deal and we’d get to unload one of Terry/Tyler. If it fails, trade him at the deadline. This is a no brainer and I can’t believe people are against it.

He is going to the Lakers isn’t he?

    PICK 1:

    42 games, 20.8 ppg, 15.7 PER, 338th best by WS%, 141st by BPM, 117th by VORP

    79 games, 24 ppg, 19.7 PER, 42nd best by WS%, 92nd by BPM, 37th by VORP
(Led the league in minutes played in the regular season)

Some of you guys need to get real

  16. SauceDab

Derozan is a former first round pick and has made multiple all star appearances. He’s not ā€œculture’dā€ enough /s

  17. SudTheThug

no demar please our spacing is ass already

  18. MrGrieves88

Why can’t we just get a capable point guard that can score lol

  19. dimesniffer

Mfs complaining about spacing swear they know ball more than the team themselves 😭

In a parallel universe, I loved watching Wade and Westbrook play alongside each other. It can’t be said with Jimmy and DeRozan
