JAMES WISEMAN IS AN INDIANA PACER!

JAMES WISEMAN IS AN INDIANA PACER!

and hey guys what is up it is the fast break report here bringing you guys another Vlog so uh I wanted to talk about this yesterday but I didn’t get a chance to uh I had a a coworker of mine died unexpectedly and I had a funeral to go to yesterday uh after work and then I had my Pool League match I had to go to from the funeral so I didn’t get home till super late at night last night and uh you know got work the next day so uh I just I didn’t make a video I was like you know what there other going on I’ll worry about this tomorrow so uh I kind of want to talk about the James wisman thing uh everybody’s been asking me to talk about it and believe it or not seems like so far public perception of it has been mostly positive where I actually expected it to be overly like negative um you know a lot of Team mostly because like all the other teams in the East are loading up and we’re just kind of running it back with what we got um you know the Philadelphia 76ers just got Paul George uh the Knicks got uh Mel Bridges and brought back OG anobi they did lose Isaiah hartenstein so the idea that like our our big free agency move is like signing James wisman I expected everybody to be kind of a smartass about it and uh even myself I was kind of tempted to be a smartass about it but so far from what I’ve seen it seems like people are more overtly positive on this move than I expected them to be and um you know I i’ I’ve been kind of you know hinting at James wisman for about a year now year and a half now uh because uh obviously he got drafted by the Warriors in 2020 uh he was the number two overall pick and he actually has an NBA championship believe it or not he was a part of the 2022 uh Golden State Warriors NBA championship team but uh he got traded to the Detroit Pistons and uh he had some really really good moments for the Detroit Pistons you know he wasn’t a guy that got you know a whole lot of burn but when he did play and got opportunity it looked pretty good um and there was one game in particular I actually have a video about it it’s called James wisman was amazing last night I I might leave a a link to it in the video description I posted it in the Discord for all the Discord guys if you’re not in the Discord I don’t know what you’re doing with your life it’s mostly Pacers fans in there we talk about all kinds of things um but I I did post uh that video in there and then I did post two highlight videos because he did have a game this past season against the Boston Celtics that was very good um and James wiseman’s a guy that I feel like just has been given a bad hand uh in the NBA he’s not a guy that I actually think is bad even Draymond Green went to that extent on his podcast one time to say that James wisman is not necessarily a bad basketball player it’s just you know when he got drafted he was going to a team that is you know used to winning you know what I’m saying like the the Golden State Warriors won what like what four NBA championships I mean um they were asking a rookie to come in and be their starting center and and hold down in the middle and and you know if you’re playing for a championship team uh and you know your aspirations are here there’s no time for off you know what I’m saying there’s no there’s not really any time for like development like yes I understand the Warriors knew they would have to you know bring them along but he didn’t come along as fast as they needed him to and because of that they traded him to the Detroit Pistons and once he got to the Pistons he had a couple games that I watched and I was like you know what James wisman is has the potential to be really really good it just somebody needs to get that out of him and uh there was a game against Mark Williams specifically I remember it was uh the Detroit Pistons versus Charlotte Hornets and Mark Williams was the guy that he was playing against I think Mark Williams was a rookie or or in his second year but still to this day Mark Williams is one of the best defenders in the NBA believe it or not like Mark Williams is a guy who will be in Defensive Player of the Year conversations in the future um but the the Hornets defense at the time was but Mark Williams was like the anchor for that defense like Mark Williams like if you go look at the advance metrics and the onoff numbers for Mark Williams and that team on defense it is night and day like Mark Williams is the defense for that team already and he’s a very very young dude um but James wisman played a game against him and I mean James wisman just ate him up all game dude I mean he had I think he finished with 23.7 rebounds a couple assists he made a three-point shot um he shot like nine of 11 had zero turnovers and I remember watching that game I’m like yo James wisman is is good you know what I’m saying like James wisman he got he’s got this little hook shot this little uh floater he’s got like from the free throw line um he goes up strong he’s not afraid of contact um he’s not afraid to dunk the ball as well so there’s a lot of positives about James wisman that I look at and I’m like you know if somebody could just teach this guy like just to be a little bit more polished as a big he could be really really good and he’s a guy that I just think hasn’t been given the right opportunity or the right location you know um the cool thing about the Pacers is we’ve we’ve become pretty good at developing like young talent and talent that other teams have given up on uh for example like you know we traded for Tyrese halberton and Tyrese halberton like we knew he was going to be good like I knew immediately I was like yo we got Tyrese Halton like he’s dude’s a dog I remember when when the the Pacers traded for him I made a video and everybody’s like we got tyres halberton I’m like no you don’t understand like tyres Halbert that guy you know what I’m saying and uh you know we did it with Obi toppen we did it with Jaylen Smith and that’s why I’m so confident in this is because Obi toppin was a guy that Knicks have G had given up on and now we just brought him back for four years $60 million um and Jaylen Smith was a guy that when he played for Phoenix was averaging two points per game and then once he F when when he did get play it was like six points per game he comes to us and he’s like a 13- s 13 and8 guy um and he just got a threeyear $27 million contract with the Chicago Bulls because of that and the reason I think this move exists is for a couple reasons the first being we have pretty much never had a seven-footer on our roster um for as long as I can remember Miles Turner has always been the guy at Center and while Miles Turner is very good um and he’s gotten better we we need somebody a little more you know opposing down in the paint with him um and I don’t even really so much think James wiseman’s actually going to get minutes with Miles Turner but James wiseman’s a guy who is just great in the pick and roll I mean great the dude always puts himself in a in the right position to score a basket he’s a lob threat he’s an offensive rebounding threat he’s not afraid of contact he can finish through contact he’s not afraid to like get up there and dunk the ball I’ve even seen him do some Euro steps on the fast break every once in a while like he’s he’s a center but like the dude can dribble um the the three-point shot it’s like we’ve seen flashes of it but we haven’t seen it be very consistent um I think he could develop a really good mid-range jumper um honestly if if I’m comparing him to anybody in the NBA I think he could be DeAndre Aon like as as far as his skill set goes like if you look at his per 36 numbers the guy is a 17- 10 guy per like if his per 36 numbers say he’s a 17- 10 guy so he’s a guy that I look at and I’m like you know if we could just get him some minutes like he could be really good and he’s going to provide basically what we needed out of Jaylen Smith but just at 7 foot tall which is even better you know Jaylen Smith even though we left was arguably the best rebounder on the team and James wisman career-wise I think is like a nine and five guy uh so I I like this I like this for the Pacers and the idea like I honestly a lot of people are saying like oh what’s he GNA do with uh you know Tyrese Halbert and what’s he gonna do with Andrew nard and all this stuff I think it’s TJ McConnell that is is the person we need to be talking about you know like I think James wisman has a legitimate opportunity to be our backup center and I I know that people are going to say no it’s going to be a jaacks it’s going to Becks it’s going to be Jack because of the way he played in the playoffs and you would be right like I’m I’m I’m not going to take that away from you you’re right but the thing is James wisman is 7 feet tall okay and he’s a guy that is got a lot of talent it’s just somebody needs to get that out of him you know what I’m saying because we’ve seen flashes you know we’ve seen flashes of what he can be his career high he’s like a 30o game or something like that for Golden State but he’s a guy that you can put out there next to TJ McConnell and Aaron n Smith or Benedict math and you could have a really really solid bench unit with him out there you know he’s a guy that it’s I just think it if you give him opportunity like I I like the idea that he’s not afraid you know what I’m saying he’s he’s not timid you know what I’m saying like he’s a guy’s not afraid to pull up a three he’s not afraid to pull up from the mid he’s an underrated passer if I’m being honest with you like the guy can pass the ball um it’s just a matter of he’s just he’s kind of doofy like I I don’t I don’t know how to put it any other way other than like he’s just kind of a doofy guy like he I will say this on defense somebody shared it in the Discord he doesn’t call out screens he doesn’t call out the switches which he needs to do which I’m sure somebody’s going to work with him on that um but I I love this signing and the idea is I love these lowrisk high reward uh signings that the Pacers do where it’s like they take guys that other teams have given up on give them a shot show them like just just show them some new and they they come out and you know they end up being productive guys you know and we and even with Andrew nard man like Aaron neith like there’s a lot of guys on our team that we have traded for that like at the time you know we were like okay like like we got Obi toppin for a ninth grader okay we traded uh Malcolm Brogden for Aaron n Smith we drafted Andrew neard in the second round we traded sabonis for Tyrese halberton um I forgot what happened with Jaylen Smith what we traded for him but we traded for Jaylen Smith and like you get all these guys and everyone’s like who are these guys like what are they going to contribute and then they end up becoming really really good players so I’m high on this move I I I like the Pacers track record which Just DE developing guys it seems like it’s getting a whole hell of a lot better um you know TJ McConnell is going to be huge for James wisman I think TJ McConnell is going to turn James wisman into like maybe even a 14- seven guy if I’m being honest um I think James wisman has the potential to be really really good and I know there’s some people out there are probably asking why did we make this signing and the truth is Miles Turner’s in a contract year um and so is T.J McConnell T.J McConnell is in a contract year and uh when you bring in a guy like James wisman it’s like you got to have some type of contingency plan you know what I’m saying like that’s that’s the reason for this I Jacks is very good but the thing is like is I Jacks a starting center I don’t think so where is if you can bring in James wisman and have him on under your your uh foot uh I don’t know what I guess in your building for a year uh I mean he’s got a two-year uh but if you can bring him in and and maybe just see what you got in him and it’s like cuz I I’m just going to be honest Miles Turner is most likely coming back I don’t I’m not saying this saying that Miles Turner is going to leave but you never know you know what I’m saying you need some type of contingency plan if Miles Turner says I’m tired of playing in Indiana sorry I want to go somewhere to win you need to have some type of contingency plan and that’s why I think they sign James wisman um James wisan is a guy that provides rebounding he provides defense he’s actually a very good Defender he’s great at blocking shots he runs the floor he’s a decent passer he’s not afraid of contact there’s a lot of positives about him there is a lot of positives about James wisman just a matter of going to the right team that can utilize him properly and get that out of him like even in Detroit a lot of people were saying well like he went to Detroit and he was better but he wasn’t great but the thing is Detroit was like they don’t have any shooting you know Monty Williams was a guy who looked like he was trying to lose his job um it’s just I I I like this opportunity for James wisman because he’s going to an organization that cares about growing players that cares about winning that cares about culture that cares you know like it’s it’s military you know what I’m saying like I I hate to say that and like that might not sound like a good thing but if you talk to anybody who’s been a Pacer they’re like yo it’s military like you don’t show up to your your massages on time they find you right so it’s just the idea like I like this for James wisman I think it’s going to do wonders for him um I also I want to say this Andrew nard was a second round pick and Andrew neard has become phenomenal um and one thing Indiana has shown the rest of the NBA it’s like you can give up on a guy but at the same time like if you don’t give him any opportunity you’ll never know what he’ll become and at least with Indiana if you get traded here you’re going to play you know what I’m saying for the most part you’re going to play now James weisman’s going to play most of his minutes with the second and and third unit um I I do not think he he’s not going to be in the starting lineup he’s not going to be a starter but you never know down the Road you know two or three years from now maybe he could be depending on what happens with Miles you know like you I don’t think miles is going to sell out Indie but it’s just the idea like you never know you got to have some type of contingency plan and that’s what they did with this so I like this I like this move a lot I’m excited for it I’ve been saying that the Pacers should trade for James wisman for a year and a half now almost two years and um just to see just to just to put him in the building and see what happens and I think James wisman is going to be very very impressive I think James wiseman’s going to be uh like the rest of the league is finally like I have a feeling by the time we’re done with this James wisman project cuz we got Benedict mathan coming up Aaron nouth coming up like we’re we’re developing young guys like that’s what we’re doing in Indie right now at the moment so um I like it and I think the rest of the NBA is going to look back on James wisman after we’re done with him and be like why didn’t we trade for that guy you know what I’m saying like that’s what I think is going to happen and I mean that wholeheartedly like I I think he’s going to be really really good for the Pacers especially with that second unit um you know if you put him out there with Ben mathine TJ McConnell and jarus Walker and stuff like you’re gonna you’re have one badass second unit okay I’m just going to let you know and Ben Shepard like that second unit’s going to be one to with so anyway tell me what you guys think about this down below in the comment section below like helps me out subscribe if you guys want to see more on The Fast Break report and um out of this peace guys

So the Indiana Pacers signed the 2020 NBA Draft #2 overall pick James Wiseman to a two year deal and this signing feels like a sneaky good one. James Wiseman is coming to a situation where he will not only get playing time but also have a chance to become a way better basketball player than he already is.

  1. I know that Jackson played better at end of year. But the first half of the year he looked like he didn't belong in the NBA at all. Point is, he hasn't proven himself over a full season. I think the backup center position is up for either of these guys.

  2. I love the pick up. Totally worth a shot. He could turn into an absolute steal for us. Specifically big for the Pacers and their weaknesses

  3. Exactly we going backwards instead of forward – what a waste of offseason by Pacers management

  4. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO. You watched the game and you gave a fair analogy about him! I hope the Pacers brings out the BEST OF HIM! He won’t disappoint you!
