People are gonna bitch about this again I bet.

Fuck r/nba discourse. It’s an entire dickhating circlejerk surrounding LeBron.

It was never about Bronny, it was about hating LeBron lol.

Great. Rob learned he can give rookies 4 year contracts. Where was this with Caruso, THT, Max Christie, or any number of rookies that got 2 year deals and were up for new contracts after their sophomore years?

  3. Extreme-Site-8496

Excited to see him play in the summer league

  4. ConcaveSnack

All the best to Bronny! Him succeeding is the Lakers succeeding

  5. sogood-_

Damn gave him the most money and years we can possibly give to a 55th pick.

Klutch really do have us by the balls.

  6. NawilzajaceMleko

He must have faked being that bad so the Lakers would pick him. I can’t see any other explanation.

It’s 8:30 in the morning in LA and we’ve gotten news about the Bron deal, the assistant coaches, and Bronny’s deal. Don’t be surprised if some kind of roster move happens today too.

Fine contract, if he’s not good they can easily waive him once LeBron leaves and or not extend his option in the 4th year.

This keeps LeBron happy, it’s what you do. It’s what the Lakers always do.

  9. Lakers must really do feel like they got a steal in bronny to guarantee this type of money for a late second rounder or this is a favor to get LeBron to give up some money. Honestly it is probably the latter.

Bryce is next. Lakers gonna be a James family reunion in two years!

Me finishing all my shit asap so i can get the long weekend started.

“Fine, I’ll just give Bron the money. What? Hire both of them, JJ, I don’t care. Rich, idgaf bro, extra year for Bronny just sign right here. Now where the ribs?”

  12. LebronsPinkyToe

This is like the same contract as Maxwell Lewis what are people bitching about lmao

  13. Surprised he signed a contract and didn’t just use Lakers for leverage

For all the accusations of nepotism, the real reason we drafted Bronnie comes to the surface…Jeannie is penny pinching. Bronnie will be in his 3rd season before he costs the same amount of money that a 10+ year veteran on a minimum contract would cost. That’s why the Lakers are so hesitant to part with draft picks and are so enamored with undrafted prospects…young players at the bottom of the draft are cheap…not because they are particularly talented or will contribute anything substantial, but because it’s cheaper than veteran minimum contracts. And of course, if they develop, we can always sign them to a cheaper deal than market rate before teams jump on them, and offer them more if necessary…and their pay scale will be lower too…🤷

I’m tired of people talking about this. Can’t wait for actual basketball to be played

My personal take, I just don’t feel like this is a serious basketball organization anymore. I’d be glad to have my foot in my mouth and wish nothing more than success for the team, but here are the facts:

    (1) We hire, for the 2nd time in a row, a 1st-time HC after failing to get a more proven option(s).

    (2) We draft Bronny, a draft pick that clearly has no place in the NBA for the next few years. Keep in mind historically we’ve had some success with 2nd round picks, we could have at least drafted a developing big man or wing. Bronny occupies a position of least need for the Lakers. I don’t even care if we did it for Lebron, no player is above the organization, and we have Lebron left for 2 years max.

    (3) We give Bronny a 4 year contract, unheard of for a 2nd round pick. An org like the Lakers should never be held by the balls like it seems they have been for some time.

    (4) We fail to sign FAs or trade for players that are vital to us contending. Doesn’t have to be a star FA, but a strong #3 thru #5 are equally as important if not more.

Altogether, these moves are reflective of an org with no accountability for performance, significant nepotism, and no serious motivation to win.

Relative to Bronny’s production, this will be an albatross contract.

  18. JoseMachismo

Heard he’s gonna buy his parents a house and a new Buick.

  19. juicewar01

Only issue i have with this is Dalton Knecht hasn’t even sign his shit yet. Shoulda waited before that atleast.. but maybe Bron wanted this before he sign his huh? No worries. Just a nitpick

  20. CyberGoatPsyOps

So funny how other teams fans have Bronny living rent free in their heads. Truly is the next Bron

  21. Bluebillion

Brown really hooked his son up with $8mil job.

  22. Various-Effective361

I wish my dad could get me a multi million dollar deal to play my favorite sport.

  23. jerome0423

Lakers will draft Bryce in 2 years and then they will run LBJ at 3, Bronny at 1, Bryce at 2, and Davis at 4.

  24. Nonameheroz

    His dad is Lebron.

This is how the world works

  25. HereForTheRightReasn

He probably gets that in allowance money.
