The Denver Nuggets are in trouble after losing KCP
hey everybody welcome back to the channel today we’re discussing Brian windhorse of ESPN recently sharing his thoughts on the current Denver Nugget situation after losing contavious calwell Pope in free agency he thinks the nuggets are in trouble and they well may be let’s break down what it means for them moving forward kcp is the latest key player to leave the Denver Nuggets signing a three $66 million deal with the Orlando Magic this loss is significant for Denver and according to Brian windhorse the nuggets are now in a tough spot wi horse pointed out that while other teams are busy improving their rosters the Nuggets don’t seem to be in a hurry to do so they’ve lost several key players from their championship team without bringing in any key Replacements wih horse mentioned and I quote I think the Denver Nuggets are a team we should be paying more attention to Jamal Murray has not extended his contract he’s playing with the Canadian national team not contract extended no one’s talking about that why why hasn’t he extended his contract Aaron Gordon is duw a contract extension this summer is he going to sign an extension are they done spending money on this roster Murray is set to make $36 million next season in the final campaign of a 5-year deal he signed in 2019 according to the latest Intel from sh chirania the nuggets and Murray are working on a $29 million extension however the star point guard is currently busy practicing with sgaa and Team Canada meanwhile Aaron Gordon has a $22.8 million player option for the 2025 26 season and it’s unclear right now what AG’s plans are last season the Nuggets lost crucial reserves in free agency when Bruce Brown and Jeff Green signed elsewhere this time around they’ve watched kcp walk through the door before kcp left GM Calvin Booth confidently said that Christian Brown would replace him in the rotation but for windhorse the small losses are accumulating for the Nuggets roster windhorse added an I quote they salary dumped Reggie Jackson a couple of days ago not that Reggie Jackson is a gigantic loss but they could have traded him for another player not just salary dump him so how do the Nuggets keep up with the jonesers how did they replace a guy in their roster who was a big part of their championship team after they lost a guy last year I think Denver is in a tough spot if you can be in a tough spot with Nicola yic Denver is in kind of a tough spot right now the Nuggets failed to defend their Championship losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2024 NBA playoffs they could have used Bruce Brown in that Minnesota series but they let him walk away without getting anyone in return looking ah head the nuggets have secured Nicola yic until at least the 2026 27 campaign with the 2027 28 season as a player option but aside from the Joker Denver has locked up only Michael Porter Jr who was signed until the end of the 2027 campaign they have made it known that Murray is a priority but right now he looks busier with the Canadian national team then signing a contract extension the Nuggets won the championship in 2023 behind a balanced attack led by yic and Murray the team boasted a solid backup unit that played a significant role in the NBA Finals however with Denver losing members of that title team one after the other it’s unclear what the long-term plan is so what do you guys think about the Denver Nugget situation are they in trouble or will they find a way to stay competitive let us know your thoughts in the comments below and don’t forget to like share and subscribe for more upcoming videos and NBA content my name is Damen Peters as always thank you so much for watching and I will see you next time
