The NBA is SCARED of the New Look Oklahoma City Thunder…

the Oklahoma City Thunder and more specifically general manager Sam pry have done a phenomenal job of navigating this offseason first it was the Alex Caruso trade which ended up I think being a steal for the Thunder could work out both ways Paul George has major implications on the Thunder by going to Philly and then they resign two of their best role players to Long very very team Friendly Deals so we’re going to talk about all that and more but the big fish was obviously Isaiah hartenstein who maybe you think was a little bit of an overpay but here’s the deal uh the ther were 27th in total rebounds last year and 29th in offensive rebounds last year in the entire NBA there’s only 30 teams um and the game started he averaged 8.7 points 9.4 rebounds and 3.1 offensive rebounds in just 28 minutes a game so he should come in and off rip pretty much fix the two biggest weaknesses for the Thunder last year um you know you could say it’s one weakness as a whole rebounding all right but still at 7 foot 250 lbs with a 7 fo2 wingspan he comes in and he’s going to be the perfect compliment to Chad in that front court maybe they don’t play a lot together but as a guy that is a really good screener can protect the rim and can really rebound the ball you let cat get out on the perimeter more and they just have that interior presence that they really lacked last year and he’s very strong I mean he just stonewalls Yannis right here very very good signing for new or for um Oklahoma City I should say and yes they had to overpay a little bit to get him but it’s only three years so by the time those other extensions kick in he should be off the books 3 years 87 million but I mean even he’s a solid passer I think this could be one of those pieces that you look back and say hey OKC doesn’t win a championship without Isaiah hardstein um 3.1 assist per game in 28 minutes so maybe you know maybe that’s the missing piece for them I think it definitely puts them a little bit over the top and then the Paul George trade remember they got a Kings ransom for sh or for Paul George um including Shay goers Alexander you see all these future picks they have that Clippers pick in 2027 the rights to swap um as well as some other future Clippers assets and with PG going to Philadelphia that pretty much ends it La wins nothing with PG while Oklahoma City is the one seed with Shay and Jaylen Williams being their two best players who both came from that trade Shay averaging 30 points a game 5.5 rebounds 6.2 assists two steals one block in one of the best statistical Seasons I’ve ever seen 54% from the field 35% from three on 3.6 attempts per game um he was just absolutely another level this year he’s going to be an MVP candidate for the next 5 to 10 years for sure Jaylen Williams as well 19 points a game 4.1 assist 4.5 rebounds one steal and he only played 31 minutes a game he’s not out here playing 37 38 minutes A Night Like An embiid or somebody he was very efficient and in the minutes played he was very good at getting his 54% from the field and 43% from three that is not normal for a 22y old Wing come on now U and then the elite value that we talked about the two role players and Andrew wig or Aaron wiggin excuse me not Andrew uh and then Isaiah Joe both signing very Team friendly contracts Aaron Wiggins comes in with a 5year 47 million deal for about 9.4 annually that is fantastic value in today’s NBA for the second guy off your bench he average seven points a game 2.4 rebounds and one assist last year now you might think that’s not crazy good but he only played 17 or 15 minutes a game 56% shooting from the field 49% from three as a 25-year-old again these are not normal statistics that these young wings Oklahoma City are putting up he’s a great cutter high energy guy off the bench that can defend he’s got some size on him and I think he’s going to be a big piece for Oklahoma City down the road especially with that $9.4 million annual contract because in 5 years 9.4 is going to be even less than it is today per 36 he’s averaging 16 points a game 5 and a half rebounds two and a half assists and 1.5 steals a night and like I said he’s just a very active guy can play without the basketball and he’s a good piece to have on this OKC team Isaiah Joe another guy an Absolut Marksman four years $48 million and probably for the top shooter on the team that’s a very good contract at just 12 million a year once again as the years go on that 12 million is going to take less and less of a hit against the total percentage of the cap 8.3 points a game this year for Isaiah Joe and he shot 42% from three on 4.5 attempts and you can watch the clips here I mean he is just an absolute sniper mark dagnal runs some great action to get him open shots as well as right here where he just goes and sets the screen and I mean you’ll see it four or five times if you back it up in this Warriors game he’ll go set a ghost screen pop to the three-point line and it’s just wide open that one barely even touched his hands and his straight cords uh with that being said let’s go ahead and take a break here make sure to like button leave me a comment down below and hit that subscribe button if you are enjoying today’s video at any point as you can see here basically everybody that watches these videos is not subscribed to the channel um so that as you go ahead and change that also we’re trying to hit 200 likes on today’s video so if you could help us out with that it’d be greatly appreciated and with that being said let’s continue on looking at the draft because obviously the Thunder with the biggest war chest of draft picks in the NBA right now they go out they get Dylan Jones they get nicoa toic um Dylan Jones had this quote to say on Twitter and I thought this was a great Co quote because obviously he’s not going to be the guy in the NBA but he averaged 2010 and five last year at Weber State and he’s going to come in and he’s going he’s just a winning player he’s going to impact this Thunder team in a positive way 6’5 225 lbs so he’s got good height good weight um not the most athletic guy but a really really strong guard I mean he just moved St Mary’s Center probably 5et to get that open layup uh he can hang and finish with the best of him I know this is against the West Coast Conference competition but still um he can pretty much score from anywhere score going left in the mid-range uh he can score going right in the mid-range he can score going right downhill he can score going left downhill he can pull up and hit the three he can catch and shoot he can do whatever you need oh and he also averaged 10 rebounds a game as a 6’5 guard and then Nia topic uh this is a guy that the Thunder had the luxury of getting because they have so many future picks a projected top five pick he was a shorefire top five pick before the ACL news came out so yes he will miss the entire season but he’s a 6′ s dimer that can come in and run that second unit especially if K Wallace does not work out uh although K Wallace showed he probably will work out after last year but he’s very crafty finisher um does a great job of using his body and extending his arms using that wingspan to finish over people as you can see here the pro or the shooting is going to be a bit of a project but if he can get a shot down I mean he’d be even better so nicoa topic just another 67 great point guard they can have coming off the bench now the wing Doo that we talked about we’ve made a whole video talking about Caruso so I didn’t talk about it um until this point in the video but with L Dort you got the Dorter chamber and then you got Alex Caruso as well that’s going to be a very very tough defensive Wing Duo um Dort averaging 11 points 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game last year on 44% shooting from the field 39% from three on five attempts really good numbers for him and then Caruso averaged about 10 points per game 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists all three were career highs in their respective categories and he played in 71 games played um great defender very good length shot 47% from the field 41% from three on five attempts so pretty much we saw how the Celtics had so many guys hit 1003 so many guys shooting 40% from three that is what the Thunder are going to be next year their top eight guys are all going to be shooting 40% from three except for Shai or Shay excuse me um now versatility is really what Sam prey was going for this offseason if you play a team with good wings and guards you can run this lineup with the two perimeter defenders in Caruso and Dort um and play small ball with Chad and Jaylen Williams if you see a bigger lineup like cat and Rudy goar then you run your hartenstein and Chad lineup where chat’s at the four with Jaylen Williams at the three you can still you know put uh Caruso or Dort whichever one you wanted to two and then have Shay run the point the thing without gidy is you don’t have a true point guard Shay obviously more of a scorer but he’s more than capable as a passer and then next year you’ll have topic back and you got so much depth I mean all these guys are really good players you also got Dylan Jones and then topich will be back after the year um I think moving on from poku and Trey man really opened up some more minutes and that was you know an even smarter move even though the Gordon Hayward thing didn’t work out so I really like all these moves that the Thunder have made and I think their ceiling or their floor is probably a top three seed and they should probably be the favorite to win the West next year yall let me know your thoughts down in the comment section below though make sure to like button and leave me a comment down below This video looks at the Oklahoma City Thunder and why the nba is scared of them after the Isaiah Hartenstien signing to go with their core of Shai Gilgeous Alexander and Jalen Williams

  1. People still don't realize how good Boston is right now… The crazy part is that they are still the best team in the NBA without KP.

  2. They have to upgrade lou dort position with Jonathan Isaac or Deni Advija who are better rebounder and are able to guard all 5 position also having a 3 point percentage of 40

If they do that they are legit title contenders or else second round exit

  3. can someone explain i’m new. Why is it that Chet and Hartenstein won’t be on the floor together often ? Rudy and KAT made it work for the wolves …

  4. OKC's depth is insane. Starters are SGA, J-Dub, Chet, Dort, and Caruso/IHart. Wiggins will be the 4th off the bench behind Caruso/IHart, Joe, and Wallace. 10 and 11 are J-Will and Kendrich Williams. 🤯🤯🤯

  7. Any of you out there who think OKC won the Giddey/Caruso trade simply don't know basketball. We lost that one big time. Giddey was a big part of why OKC was 57-25 and finished 1st in the west and came within one play of making the west conf. finals. I don't think Caruso is as good as Wiggins and we didn't need any more wing players because we already have tons of them so it made zero sense. They're obviously better with Hartenstein as he addresses a big need but losing Giddey makes them worse.
