    > The die is cast and Sasha Vezenkov returns to Olympiacos after one season in the NBA!

    > The long-awaited deal for Olympiacos has taken shape. Sasha Vezenkov is once again an Olympiacos player. The Bulgarian forward chose to wear the “red and white” again, returning to Europe after one season.

    > The trade that brought him to Toronto from Sacramento paved the way. Vezenkov was released from the contract that tied him to the NBA and of course Olympiacos, who had been moving all this time to convince him to get back in port, made him his own.

    > Vezenkov chose to return to a familiar environment. Where he grew his status and became a EuroLeague MVP under the tutelage of Giorgos Bartzokas.

    > Last season in 42 games for the Sacramento Kings, he averaged 5.4 points on 37.5 percent three-point shooting, 2.3 rebounds and 0.5 assists.

I would consider Melayess extremely reliable when it comes to this matter. Also, Stefanou (another Greek reporter and friend of Sasha) has reported the same thing.

Maybe the Raptors should have held off on the welcome tweet.

Enjoy your team of scumbags Sasha.

I’m gonna wait for the details. The whole thing feels pretty messy from the start. If we take a hit from his entire salary then we should have got more compensation from the kings

I’ll also add this may be Olympiakos putting pressure on the Raptors to get the deal done. It’s typical scumbag behavior by these scumbags.

If watching soccer has taught me anything it is you have to wait for real confirmation on any European sport coverage

Does mean they have an open roster spot then which means they can use it in free agency or a Bruce trade

Man, do former Euroleague players hate the Raptors or something?

Kind of feel like that’s been the trend the last few years.

  8. PriorVariety5744

Cool. That opens one more roster spot up.

BAH GAWD THATS GARY TRENT JR ON THE MLE’S MUSIC

  10. Meh. He seemed like a great fit on the bench, but in the end, he was never really a long-term piece anyway. Not really a huge loss.

This is a bs story and I’m pretty sure that all of those speculations are just engagement farming from European media. I’m from Bulgaria and I’ve followed him for some time. He’s merely the second player in our history that has made it to the NBA and this means a lot around here. He has mentioned in interviews that playing in the NBA is also his childhood dream. After a disappointing season there’s just no way that he’ll turn his back to a second chance for proving himself. He can always go back to Greece after a season here, but he’ll never be given another chance in the NBA if he leaves now.

Venezkov probably couldn’t dominate Summer League

    This is actually good
    We will save $$ ya?

  14. Green-Umpire2297

    Fuck this.

Americans don’t want to play here. Europeans don’t want to play here.

Just chase Canadians and Africans. I want to support players that want to be here.

Knew this was coming, no chance he was suiting up for Toronto

  16. CoolstorySteve

Turning down that guaranteed nba money for an 80% paycut is wild but he knows what’s best for him

  17. If this is accurate, maybe somebody should tell him about r/personalfinance
