so much to my dismay it would seem as though the Utah Jazz have not come to terms with the decision of keeping Li marinin and instead because they were entertaining the possibility of trading him some interesting office must have been put on the table because now this seems as though they are highly likely to trade him at least that’s what the news is saying today in day two of the free agency period now lowi marinin obviously was not an All-Star last year he was an All-Star the previous season and being that he is a seven-footer that has a very large window of defensive versatility there’s a lot of different ways you can mix and match him on the defensive side of the ball offensively he put up almost 50 40 90 splits across his years with the Utah Jazz he wanted to stay here Danny a told him that he should buy a home in Salt Lake City because he was planning on keeping him here long term as a Cornerstone of the franchise and it seems like it’s coming to an end which is unfortunate because I do genuinely enjoy covering him as a player and regardless I will still continue to do my due diligence and keeping up with his game regardless the Two Front Runners as it stands out appears to be the Spurs and the Golden State Warriors now I did make a video about the Spurs this was before they got Chris Paul so it might need a little bit of tweaking however I do believe that the Spurs is the most ideal landing spot they have the most opportunities to add something to the pie if you are the Utah Jazz yes golden state has a little bit of assets they have some players I don’t want anybody on Golden State they just folded and told Clay Thompson he couldn’t have the money that he was requesting because they didn’t have the money and then ultimately magically out of nowhere for Paul George they had the money so they lost out on both of those pieces and I don’t think you want to send Larry to that situation could Larry be a good running mate and particularly pick and pop situations just picking roles in general with Stephen Curry of course that would be amazing but at the same time there’s just not enough Talent there for it to make enough of a positive to make the Warriors into contenders that just wouldn’t work now if Lowry does end up joining wmy along with Chris Paul and Stefan castle and Devon vasel in the likes of Jeremy Sohan and a couple others I do think that is a playing level roster call me crazy the thing that a lot of people fail to realize is they look at the record that the Spurs had last year and that’s not indicative of who they are as a team genuinely when wimy plays they have a positive box squore plus minus the issue was he played roughly half of the game and they were getting clapped in the game minutes that he was not playing on the court so that tells you play wimy you win games add an actual point guard that can provide wimy with the ball and instead of him having to initiate offense either on his own or hope and pray that somebody throws it to his lanky behind at The Rim uh makes life a lot easier Stefan Castle defensively mobile not a slouch plays like a dog needs a little bit of work on his three-point jump jumper but anything inside that Arc he’s going to work also a very good passer I expect Chris Paul to have the similar effect on him that he had on shild Alexander and see him take that next step even after Chris Paul eventually as I believe will leave the Spurs if you add lry Markin into that situation obviously you have a lot of other young pieces that are taking the next step into their own you have a team that can legitimately go into the playoffs a pick and rooll with Lowry and Victor web inyama is absolutely exquisitly disgusting have that with a young Stefon Castle have that with an age veteran and CP3 he doesn’t even have to be incredibly mobile doing it with a seven-footer is easy imagine setting a pick and roll Victor wanyama CP3 wimy rolls and CP3 doesn’t like what he sees decides to kick the ball out to Larry marinin that’s a bucket doesn’t like the kick out lobs it at The Rim Victor royama dunk or flip-flop it Victor can hit threes too not at the same clip but if you send Lowry over there I guarantee you he’s going to get a lot more of a skill boost than he had before and as long as he gains more size gets a little bit stronger a little bit denser and a little bit girthier and he’s able to take a little bit more of a pounding you can play in more extended minutes and then this trade makes a lot of sense if you are a Spurs fan I’m all over the moon for them obviously the Nets along with the Hawks being a little bit on the rim of making a full rebuild the Nets have just completely committed to it so they’re having a fire cell on a couple pretty good role players if I do say so myself so if you are the Spurs I would look into that if you’re also going to look at the Atlanta Hawks depending on whether they decide to keep Trey young or if they want to send him away I could see Trey young getting possibly sent over to the Spurs as well now that would obviously be the best case scenario if you are a Hawks fan because they have your picks when Deonte Murray was traded over to the Atlanta Hawks they sent over their first round picks so now you can get those back completely disassemble your roster start from square one and Go full rebuild along with the Brooklyn Nets and honestly that makes a lot of sense to me because I don’t see Atlanta contending in the next couple years I believe Trey young has three or four more years on his contract and I don’t see them closing the Gap in that window to be honest sending him over to join Victor wanyama would be insane but first take it one step at a time they got Chris Paul he has a legitimate point guard they got Stefon Castle they have a defensively versatile as well as offensively versatile individual that is a rookie who’s going to be playing like a second or third year player right out the gate in my op opinion and then you have the ability to spend some draft Capital maybe send over a young player or two in exchange for Lowry to the Jazz who are going to be going complete tank mode in attempts to capture the flag or just grab anybody in really that top five to top seven because they’re all really big game changers and they’re capable of committing highlevel effort plays on a consistent basis and affecting your winning category so I think it makes a lot of sense from both sides the Warriors to me makes a little less sense I feel like that’s why they’ve continuously got the short end of the stick through all their transactions this offseason but I definitely feel like if Lowry is going to get traded OKC was going to be an opportunity but they ended up signing Isaiah hartstein so I think that the most logical conclusion for me personally and for those of us that enjoy basketball to watch would be for him to be traded to the Spurs they have the draft Capital to make something happen they have the young players to risk in that situation so it just makes a lot of sense and a completely unrelated note that I just wanted to throw in here at the end I mildly irritated this is obviously a front-facing reaction um very quickly Drew Eubanks was signed today after yesterday in the first day of free agency they waved om 7 now om 7 wasn’t a terrific backup but he was a decent rim protector he was very versatile on the offensive side of the ball I would say a really good pick and roll kind of guy finished lobs at The Rim pretty strong was a much stronger rebounder and more consistent in that department than Walker Kessler tended to be over the longevity of the Season he was also more willing to take a corner three and did hit them at a decent enough clip to make me feel comfortable with him taking more of them and that’s why I actually have more hope in Walker Kessler developing that more part of his game because om Year s was able to do it first so the fact that they decided to wave om and then elected to sign Drew Eubanks confuses me it perplexes me CU I don’t understand the point just leave the roster spot open just leave it open brother Drew Eubanks for Reference last year he was with the Phoenix Suns for those that don’t know because when I said that name people said who I did two the first time 5.1 points per game 4.3 rebounds 8 assists shot 60% from the field though you know understandable his best season was the year where he first went to the trail Bas originally he was drafted to the Spurs played for the Spurs for Four Seasons never eclipsed six points per game right also never played more than 14 minutes so justifiably so in the most minutes that he played in any season was his first year when he was first sent over to the Trailblazers afterwards it was only a 22 game sample size though in 201 9 and half minutes he averaged 14.5 points shooting 64.6% from the field 26.7% from three-point range and that went with eight and a half rebounds 1.6 assists and point8 steals more recently like I said for the Suns he averaged 15.6 minutes per game he also put together Five Points shot 60% from the field did hit the three that he took had 4.3 rebounds point8 assists point4 steals played in 75 out of their 82 games so so heal is not going to be a concern of his at least judging from his most recent two seasons but overall I don’t understand the point of adding him and cutting Omar 7 just in order to do this because he doesn’t push the needle positively and he doesn’t push the needle negatively he’s just there so this is one of those things that’s kind of mindboggling maybe it’s for a deal that’s going to happen later on and you need somebody that’s just going to have a certain level of value and maybe he’s that guy that you can use as a little bit of a buffer but to me tomato tomato it just doesn’t make sense and I was fond of big year I think that’s why I feel a little bit more irritated about it drew Eubanks to me from what I’ve seen on his tape and watching him even last season in the games where the Jazz did play against the Suns and in other games as well he just doesn’t do much for me honestly now maybe there’s something we don’t know and Danny a in the front office is cooking up something crazy but that remains to be seen either way my prediction is going to be for if lry does get traded again I’m perfectly fine with him staying on the rer and US tanking at him just playing sporadically and playing hurt you know the majority of the season and then we also have him along with whoever we end up taking in next year’s draft but if not I think that the Spurs are the most ideal candidates for his play with that being said though let me know what you guys think in the comments below as
