Clippers MESSED UP letting Paul George go to 76ers + Draymond Green reacts to Warriors trade rumor

welcome to the brand new Draymond Green Show YouTube channel hit subscribe so you don’t miss out on any of our content and other news as we must keep this podcast rolling um Paul George I mean there were other free agency moves and Paul George is the biggest of the summer and he is planning to sign a four-year deal with the 76ers also a little salty B about that because as you all know um Paul George was going to come to the Warriors and we wanted Paul George to come to the Warriors and you know we always talk about these uh organizations um what they do for their players and whatnot and um for us to get Paul Georgia would have taken a sign and trade and the Clippers didn’t really want to play ball um didn’t really want to help him get to where he wanted to go and so in turn they get nothing back and and you know whereas you could have gotten something back uh for paa George walking they get absolutely nothing back so uh these these organizations don’t always be willing to play ball and I don’t think the Clippers were really willing to play ball for Paul George uh to get to the Warriors I kind of understand it I suppose you don’t want him in the same division as you cuz you may know how that looks if he comes with us so uh that didn’t quite pan out for us which would have been nice uh would have been really nice but yeah so they’ll lose Paul George for nothing and that also sucked uh because I think what Paul George could have done um if he did come to the dubs would have been amazing uh but Ness not going to cry over spilled milk but when you talk about these organizations and and you all talk players like oh this this guy ain’t loyal to this organ like I never want to hear that again um because Paul George went there and when he went there they had plans of competing for a championship it didn’t ever really work out um quite frankly a lot of that being due to their injuries um and not being healthy never really having an honest opportunity to compete for a championship um but nonetheless what did Paul George do while he was at the Clippers maybe four All-Star appearances I think um in this time with the Clippers which quite frankly is pretty up there uh when you look at the level of achievement that Clippers players have had over the years um you you know you had CP who had a great tenor there um you had uh Blake Griffin who had a great tenor there but Paul George tenor there as far as all NBAs and All Stars is not too far off uh for what the best clippers of all time had to not be willing to like play ball on the sign trade where he want to go um for I mean it is what it is one of the best players in your organization history I just don’t really want to hear people saying like oh that guy wasn’t loyal or like KD left this team or such and such left that team like they not loyal like n most of these organizations ain’t loyal um The Warriors have shown loyalty for sure um Dallas has actually shown loyalty when you think about Dirk’s rod and like even JJ Bera going coming back going coming back Deon Harris going coming back like when you Seth Curry going like they’ve proven to be a loyal franchise the Lakers has proven to be a loyal franchise um however there aren’t many there aren’t many out there um so San Antonio Spurs is proven to be a loyal franchise but like I just named four out of 30 like so when everybody go on Twitter like oh this guy ain’t that and like stop it this is not a loyal business because you have players sometimes they want to do what they think is best for them and teams aren’t really willing to play ball and when you’ll take nothing as opposed to something you don’t want to talk loyalty people so you should probably be careful with all all of that talk uh another one that I am very sad about um is CP I don’t know if was been very documented on like how we hated each other um and I am very sad to know that he’s leaving this team uh because in my head I’m like man see she going to end up finishing career here and that’ be dope like um again this is the part of the business that suck like one year with seeing I’m like man I really love this dude like he incredible one of the best teammates I’ve ever had and then he gone and that is the weird part about this business man but that made me really sad um so between like in a day of finding out between like clay and then CP like it’s been I’ve been sad these last few days um trying to process my thoughts but I’m really sad about that nonetheless uh CP pop still a genius uh parent CP with win to teach that young fell the way CP one of the greatest vets I’ve ever been around and I just spent a year around him as a vet myself um and he was a vet to me and so that’s going to be great for wimy um and the young fellow Castle cuz see CP going to teach the young fellow Castle all the things that he need to know about the point guard position and he also going to tell him what he not very good at and what he need to learn in a very elegant way in a very constructive way but he going to tell that kid what he good at and what he not good at and what he need to learn and how he need to see things and that is a genius move by the Spurs man wow that’s a genius move and then then for CP like you get the opportunity also to in what year 20 I think this is about to be for see uh opportunity to go lead the next young face star in the NBA that’s a great opportunity too he get a chance to in in a sense kind of go help mold him and like what an honor uh because you only get that if if you’ve been as great as CP has and as respected as CP is um that’s the only way you get that opportunity CP is a very strong personality all always has been super strong personality for them to feel comfortable bringing you in there knowing how strong that personality is they feel good about what you’re going to bring to that kid that’s special that’s extremely special um so I’m happy for C because that’s a great opportunity to go help young M that young fella who knows where it can go cuz Young fella is special wimy is special so who knows where it goes um but man that that’s great uh but I’m sad to see C leave uh nonetheless uh hardenstein who was in the G League a few years ago three years 87 million because he kept his head down kept working uh was great at what he’s great at which is being physical tough hard nose and then he’s added to his game got a little floater now um you know on on the offensive end make great passes out of the pocket uh when he get the ball in the pocket make great reads um got an opportunity I think on a minimum contract maybe even non- guarantee and and now look at him three years 87 million I love to see those type of stories cuz I’m a product of something like that and so uh congrats to hardenstein that’s a big move for OKC uh they traded for Caruso they got hardenstein OKC not playing they think they got a window and they going for it right now and I always respect teams that make it clear we going for it and I think hard is a big addition for that uh the Young Magic is going for it uh 3 years 66 million for kcp two-time NBA champion I think that’s huge for the magic um huge and I think you know um kcp is a great Pro and when teams start swinging for guys like kcp that mean we serious we want to make a run so you know I I was on the um shop a few years ago and I was talking about going to play the magic that’s a different magic now and I can respect that they’re making a sign and not one year 22 million for kcp you know how teams do I go I’mma bring this guy in for one year because I don’t want to to no what they’re saying right now is we think we got a window and we need to fill some guys in around our young stars and that’s what they doing so they starting to go for it and I respect that um I saw a couple deals uh that were like good deals for the guys but team taking advantage of their situation um Wiggins young Wiggins Aaron Wiggins from OKC uh the young fella from the Bulls Patrick Williams um a lot of these so I don’t know if y’all paid attention but there’s been an uptick of fiveyear deals this summer and up Tick of those and I wonder why it’s interesting cuz new TV money about to kick in and those contracts going to go up and you get some of these guys locked in on these fiveyear contracts and you can take advantage and those guys when that TV money go up if you paying a goty 18 million now that M that may not even be the mid level when this new TV money kick in we don’t know and so I thought that’s been interesting and watching a couple of these teams go through these go with these fiveyear deals on these guys um couple of these young players uh you know if you Tyrese Maxi and you getting a Max Maxi with the max you know what I’m saying then you you sign that Max you know but uh couple of these deals I’ve been looking at I’m always happy for these young guys uh to see them get their money because it’s life changing and I know the feeling and I would never um I would never make a guy feel bad about getting paid you get your money uh but I that was just something that I saw that I thought was interesting and I just hope that those guys are being made aware of all of the things um when you first get in your bag you can’t really mess around with it you got to take your money but I just hope someone is teaching all these young guys these things um laying the options out for them and then saying hey these are the options this is what you should do and here’s why I think you should do this but this is what you could do see most people tell you this is what you should do and here’s why I think you should but they don’t tell you what you could do and I just hope those young fellas are being told what they could do uh also the Clippers resigned James Harden 2 years 70 million um and Russell Westbrook opted in and I saw they wanted to trade him which was shocking to me because I’m like dang Russ opted in the four and then they gonna try to trade Russ like Is that real I that that was a little weird to me um DLo opted in uh valent chunis going to Washington three years 30 million um it’s a interesting free agency but my overall feeling with this free agency by the way the dubs just signed Kyle Anderson three years 27 million which I’m excited about because if you watch the playoffs you know I’m big on Kyle Anderson Kyle Anderson is a guy that you bring in and he just figures it out and help you win so I like that sign and dubs also bringing in DeAnthony Melton one year 12 million uh almost 13 million um it’s interesting free agency uh like those signings uh but overall I’m leaving this free agency I’m sad peace you know the beautiful thing about being a sports fan there’s only 1. Draymond what are you talking about? PG wanted the money since day 1 first. It never bothered him that they underachieved. That’s why he wasn’t willing to stay and take a pay cut to continue to try to win with Klaw and Harden. He has never maximized his potential and always underperformed in the Playoffs. He was nowhere near the best player and wanted to be maxed out, despite the best players not wanting the max. Please stop trying to push this bullshit narrative

  2. Clippers have looked after PG extensively. They have been a super tax paying team for years to make sure him and Kawhi had a solid team around him. They paid him a max, they looked after him extensively, they paid money on top of money that no other team would pay. The new cap comes in to stop Ballmer from doing this, what are they meant to do. PG had already complained about losing the players who did the work for him, the hard work, the grunt work on his podcast. He lost his loyalty when he went out and threw his team under the bus, stupid move and he reaps what he sows. You are absolutely right, it is not a loyal business, get your bag and move on. PG bit the hand that feeds him, and he had to go to philly to get his bag.

  3. Only ones expecting loyalty is us fans like the players belong to us since our home teams drafted them🤦🏾‍♂️ we don’t know wats going on really behind the curtain only what the teams allow the media to say about sed players🤷🏾‍♂️ then those same owners will cut, trade or bench and say it’s business 😩 if I’m the players imma do what I want like KD, it’s your career and life’s story..

  4. If draymond becomes a NBA GM one day, he will be exactly just like Billy king . A dumb GM . Smart GM will let Paul George walk for nothing

  5. Clippers didn't lose P.G for nothing. They made several singings with that cap space.
Batum, Derrick J, Mo bamba, Kris dunn, kevin porter jr.
Sure they didn't make the most out of it, but they didn't lose him for nothing.

  6. Clippers are clowns. It’s such a bad look how they did Paul George after his commitment to them for so many years in his prime.

  7. I like they finally got a tall player but slo mo? Is he working on his threes? Warriors at this point need everyone to be knocking down threes all offseason and ready to hit 40% on open 3pt shots when the season starts. Are the rookies putting in the work? Is Draymond gonna show up ready to hit those open threes? You guys can’t afford to have anyone that can’t shoot a basket and allows opponents to double Steph.

  8. Bro what he just said tells me the Warriors aren’t loyal either if they where willing to pay him but not Klay for all he did compared to what PG did for the clippers it night n day

  9. Dude wanted to talk about loyalty… but he was ready to send Klay to the Clips for PG13 and then call it a business… haahaaga

  10. Honestly for what clippers gave up for PG, which includes SGA, lots of picks etc. back in the day. The team didn’t deliver much for them to feel that loyalty. why should they get weaker while making someone in their conference stronger. Sorry, I don’t think that’s smart from clippers POV.

  11. It’s all talk dude…no one in the game is.

You seriously considered bailing on Steph for Memphis…..or claim to have.

  12. Paul George did less for the Clippers than Klay did for the Dubs, and the Dubs lowballed Klay. What the f*** is Dray talking about???

  13. why should they be loyal to a player who isn’t loyal lol, PG now being passed around like girls at a club

  14. He sounds hurt. I wonder how full of yourself you have to be to rant about the clippers not being loyal while your own team just showed how loyal they are with the whole klay situation.

  15. How does it feel to second handily ruin the warriors dynasty? Punch on Poole Durant Kicked out Game 5. Your contract extension. Be objective you weren’t worth it by the end. They get rid of you keep Poole and Durant they in a way better spot now.
