my first question to you is everyone keeps talking about well I guess not everyone but it started with Coach Woodson it kept going from there you mentioned about bulking up putting on some pounds and and getting ready to go can you sort of tell us what your plans are what the Heat have explained to you their plans are and when’s the last time someone asked you to bulk up like this uh I mean probably just starting like Indiana well really going all way back to Oregon but um at Indiana that’s when I started to you know take it serious you know get more in the weight room and then I already you know been in contact with the strength coaches here telling me I’m going to be in the weight room with them a lot so basically just trying to get my upper body you know more stronger so what what was your draft weight and what weight are they sort of targeting for you uh my draft weight I think it was at 230 but my I think the way that they want me to be at is more just it’s more of just like where I’m comfortable at but I would say probably like Max probably like two 240 245 so and then the other thing is just about every first round pick that I can remember in recent years with the heat has started as a reserve I guess to a degree at Oregon you experienced some of that playing Off the Bench how much of a Readjustment would it be for you to play off the bench and and and except maybe for the Oregon year how much in your career have you played off the bench at Oregon or just in general in your career have you spent much time besides Oregon playing Off the Bench or uh no no not really no yeah it was just Oregon I think it was was my my first year you know actually you know coming off the bench just because I did come in as a freshman and even if I did do that this year I I’ll be coming in it’ll be the same thing I’ll be coming in as a rookie so it’s just you know adapting and learning and you know trying to learn everything that I can so and my last question Cole affectionately said you were basically a monster yesterday at the first practice I assume you continueed a monster um what’s it been like these opening sessions how do you have to weigh trying to prove yourself versus playing within the confines of an NBA system thank you uh I don’t think it’s much of you know trying to like prove myself it’s just you know going out there and you know playing the basketball that I’ve been playing and you know just keeping up with what I’ve been doing so right up next Anthony Chang Miami go ahead hey khil um to go off iris’s question there when the NBA season starts probably be playing a specific role but for now I’m sure you’re obviously going be playing a bigger role in summer league have they told you kind of how they want to use you how they how want you to play uh this summer with this roster uh we haven’t got much into that but right now we’re just trying to you know figure out the team and figure out you know like what role everybody is going to be playing so we trying to go through the sets that we going to run and the plays that we going to be going through but of course in the actual game everything is going to be different it’s going to be different scenarios so we going have to see how that’ll be so right up next Zachary Weinberger clutch points go ahead hey khil good talking to you again just kind of talking about you know your time coming into the summer league now is there something specifically that you want to improve on first of all and then just kind of going into that obviously we talked to the summer league coach and he talked about wanting to instill the heat habits uh you know what were some of the things that you you sort of maybe took away from the first couple practices that you you’ve had so far I would say definitely just just learning like that you know their uh their sets their plays and just how you know they run everything over here you know it’s well some of it’s the same as you know being in Indiana but just like the play calls is different some of the sets is different so just learning that and you know just running the floor set screens rolling doing all of that stuff so

  1. Kel'el will be a factor this season. Moving up in weight.. more like muscle.. 240-242 ish at 7 foot tall?? He can shoot from deep, I can't wait to see how he runs pnr and post ups from about 11-15 feet out… he has good enough handles for his size, and finesse. he isn't a lumbering giant.. boy got ups too.. cant wait to see him the summer league
