joining us hope you’re doing well we did a pod 3 days ago breaking down the Luke cornette and nus kada signings along with some free agency scuttlebutt but since then Derek white extended Jason Tatum extended Xavier Tilman resigned oh and the entire franchise is up for sale alongside me for what’s surely going to be a banger of a pod Wayne spoony and Jake Eisenberg guys how we doing doing good man I think you get an extension you get an extension you get an extension dude I’ll take one come on back X-Man go um I think with the ownership stuff going on I think it’s important to remember that the Celtics won the [ __ ] title a month ago which is pretty important so who cares anybody but Oprah could buy us actually she might be pretty good yeah great idea man it is a weird roller coaster of emotions cuz like obviously we’ve been on such a high and then the SE it gets to the draft and the season just ticks over like so much activity so many teams uh you so many players changing teams and like no one outside of Celtics Nation cared that much about the title anyway but there was nothing else to talk about but now they really don’t care and and totally fair like I don’t remember ever caring about anyone ever winning the title for longer than two days once um even less so like I totally get it from that point but then you get in the same mindset it’s like okay who we taking with the 30th overall pick um are we doing the extension and like so you know we wake up Ben and me usually after um news some sometimes we’re like up and like we were awake when the Paul George thing was is like super official but like we woke up and we had done the dwide extension I wake up I’m like okay I I checked my phone as soon as I wake up at this time of year I usually try to avoid it but I’m like this is not the time uh for that practice we can work on my mental health another time um and I’m like I you got to you got to check it immediately and it’s like okay boom we got the Derek white extension amazing Jason T extended and I’m like statement from Wick gck there’s a 24 25 sale but I’m going to be the Govern on the the second close I’m like I don’t know what any of this means really but like the feelings are now like [ __ ] man everything’s going so well and someone just like dropped a turd in the touch ball a little bit it’s like what TCH ball the touch ball it’s like what the hell but then but then we resigned Luke cornette and then the one that really brought me back was the tman one and like I’m like all right we’re back forget who cares about the sale and kind of learning a little bit more more about what the sale may or may not mean and how it might not be a big deal but man yeah we won the title and we’re going to be and we’re currently the best team in the league still so let’s enjoy the good times and we’re recording uh the next uh edition of our underrated play series as soon as we wrap this pod and that’s going to be covering the the back end of that thoughts as well but we’ve got to start the man with the mistress Jake Eisenberg thoughts Derek white we got the wor bomb Boston Celtics guard Derek white has agreed on a 4-year $25.9 million contract extension the deal includes a player option in that last year uh just incredible and Team friendly I might say dude yeah last pod we were like relative certainty with the words of been used and I’m sitting here like I’m taking the Ben roll I’m the one that’s that’s freaking out about maybe not getting the contract done because you look at all this money being handed out across the league and I’m like can you guys chill dude can you stop handing out $25 million per year to Nicholas Clon where’re re we’re trying to resign legitimate Allstar candidates like Derek white for team Friendly Deals and you’re going out here splishing and splashing all over the place and I started to get a little worried because it’s like can he get 40 plus m in a bigger cap space here next year maybe probably um but everything we talked about you know family man stay with the Jays like he’s found like a real home here he’s become the best version of himself he’s got the Sam Adams money as well uh but he went from being on one of the best contracts in the NBA to now being on one of the best contracts in the NBA like he’s making the same amount pretty much as Isaiah hartenstein he’s making less than Isaiah quickley body barns o noi like the list goes on I mean even even Tobias Harris’s new contract is like annual salary of three less than than Derek white like it is one of the best contracts in the NBA and I’m very excited for four more years of Derek qut hell yeah yeah and and a couple nuts and bolts on this thing this was not the max but this was the max we could give him in this off season just the way extensions work and he won’t be on this contract next year he’ll be on the year after uh and which means the Cap’s going to keep going up by 10% and I think it’s at like 160 or 170 million so essentially the difference between what he’s on now and what he will be on will be completely absorbed by the cap jumping up so he’s he’s getting a raise in like real actual money but not in like salary cap percentage money it’s a great deal uh we talked about it last show like it the best thing for Derek white MoneyWise is to hit free agency see what he can get and then make us match with our bird rights but dude why you going to leave you’re like the fan base absolutely loves you there’s people making arguments in the fan base that you’re the second best player on the team or the third best player on the team uh you just had a great playoff run you got a ring and it’s $125 million in the bag right like what the hell’s the difference between 125 and 140 you know what I it doesn’t matter uh and then most of the teams with cap space especially next year are going to be bad teams so why would you leave a situation like this Derek Smart Guy Richard white his dad obviously loves it friend of the program loves it in Boston and I think that’s kind of a special fan base to appreciate Derek white he’s only been in San Antonio he’s only been in Boston where we don’t give a [ __ ] about points it’s about what you do on the court uh both those fan bases so we just gen genuinely appreciate everything Derek white does and he’s a it back in kind man he’s only making 125 so thank you Derek we appreciate it yeah remember when Marcus and Rob went out a year ago we were like who are we going to love like obviously the Jays they get it all done on the court like who are we going to fall head over heels for it turns out it was going to be Derek white and to a lesser degree Drew holiday and and Chris DS porzingis as well who I have always maintained at least over the the back half of the regular season uh did a really good job and Dearing himself to the fan base but uh Derek is absolutely uh number one ranked in the first of the floor player love rankings if there is such a thing but yeah finishes out next year on 17.5 million before notching over to that 31.4 a average annual salary the following year on that new contract uh signed through to age 34 and I believe he signed the contract on his birthday as well July 2nd happy birthday dude next year we got to get this under control because it’s Joe Missoula June 30th Jake Eisenberg July 1st Derek white July 2nd we got to get a team Legends team birthday together come over I’ll I’ll cook big Zoom call if nothing else it it’ll be great so um and then and then Steven in the Discord 7th of July so it’s a big run um of birthdays uh I do so happy birthday to Derek uh got some great some got some just some stats on on my guy DWI one has he kind of become like point guard Klay Thompson because the three-point shooting has kind of gotten out of control we had that stat last time about you know the the the attempts and 40% plus being Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in the playoffs 3.4 makes per game only players ahead of him Dame Maxi Halbert and Devon chenzo so he was fifth on three points made in the playoffs um are 22nd in the league among all players in blocks um of all players 6’10 and under Derek was second in PL in Block per game only 610 Al less than so 69 and below so the only person the only person ahead of him in blocks per game at 69 and under was Scotty Barnes um damn that’s it he was ahead of in blocks per game yanis Jared Allen bam Draymond hardenstein Mitchell Robinson uh this goes on like the the defensive playmaking from this guy the transition blocks uh you know Lively Miles Turner in the playoffs um and then um like the added strength defensively as well I think that was a concern maybe kind of coming out of like that uh last year’s playoffs he added strength and I thought it was very noticeable throughout the playoffs like not he he held up against Luca in a way that he wouldn’t have in years prior like another guy on this team that just keeps getting better and speaks to the overall culture of this team and why these guys are willing to sign these contracts everyone seems to be pulling in the right direction work ethic buying into the defensive schemes everything it’s uh it’s a good day it’s a good day to drama free drama free is a term I’ve heard thrown around as well uh and yeah that’s evident and everyone being like yeah I’ll come back even on less money than I I would fetch out on the open market is it fair to say spoony that like when you break this team down to its core components the core is Tatum Brown and Derek like at some point even for the deepest pocketed Saudi Oil Man oil person which I think there’s some sort of rule uh where foreign ownership groups can’t own teams or something like that so maybe that that’s the wrong analogy but when this team becomes prohibitively expensive you could reduce the team to just those three and cheap role players slash rookies and and have a pretty good group there and do fairly well yeah I think even if that’s your three and then it’s basically and I hope you guys can’t hear my dogs barking because they’re very annoying uh but um even if it’s like those guys mle dude and like minimums that’s probably one of the best team team in the East anyway so yeah I I think Derrik has kind of catapulted himself into the core in a way only Al Horford has in a short period of time um at least as like in the Jay’s era uh and Al’s just kind of Aging out of it but you know I love KP this team’s going to get extremely extremely extremely expensive in like two years time he might be an odd man out he might be a salary dumb candidate and Drew’s just also like Al he’s going to age out of it a little bit so like those that’s kind of your big three going forward you know in 2026 and Beyond uh and it just speaks to how damn good Derek white is on both sides of the ball he also just like never turns it over for how much he has the ball in his hands D he’s just such a smart player and Brad said it the basic I think it was the the day he took over when he had the press conference he’s like my entire mission is to to find guys who compliment the Jays and there’s just about no player that compliments the Jays better than Derek white yeah man the way he’s able to scale up scale down play a variety of roles like it’s crazy yeah I don’t know how much we’re going to get into like the future of the team but like um it does seem like Derek and the Jays is going to be the core and that gives you such a high floor especially when you fast forward to when maybe we start to break the team up a little bit where the Jays are like at the beginning of their primes Tatum you know still being 26 Jaylen being 27 like they’ll be better Derek white still under 30 and all three of those guys are super durable like all three are are candidates to be you know guys that are playing 70 plus games year in year out and so you’ve got those three guys good luck to anyone like anyone like the way that the CBA is designed that there’s no one there’s going to be no more versions of the Celtics like where a team just has like answers for everything like there’s a chance that where like in the Thunder maybe kind of the other team here like these teams that are just elite elite elite above everybody else are going to be kind of a thing of the past so and you have those three guys it’s a good place to start going win a lot of [ __ ] games with those dudes man they just know how to win basketball games yeah I feel some trepidation to get into like the future iterations of the team because I’m cognizant of wanting to live in the now but also where a Celtics podcast it is kind of relevant especially with the sale which we’ll get to a little bit so maybe we can touch on it a little bit more there but um look we’ve done 10 minutes on the Derek white extension we could just rename the show to the Derek white extension celebration show and that would be fine and there’d be plenty of meat on that bone because we love Derek white so much but let’s move on Xavier Tillman he extends on a 2year $4.8 million minimum deal dude’s only 25 years old which is it’s uh difficult to uh it’s easy to forget I suppose uh basically because he he looks older than that let’s beest Al looks younger than I know I know it’s crazy but we love you tman don’t worry come on the show anytime please um but really just I I celebrated the the continuity factor of the resigning the the Luke Luke conette and am K resigning on the last show this is just more of that and then just the fact that like this is a key rotational piece I would say and even in the playoffs we saw in the NBA Finals come in and defend the opposing team’s best player on switches uh lights out from from the corner Jake just incredible you on the rotational stuff like you can say the same for Luke cornette as well and the fact that we’re bringing back these key rotational pieces on minimum deals in this CBA climate is just incredible I can’t believe they got this one done I thought like this is this is the one that I thought we were going to lose like we got Luke back um I was like you’re trying to Canvas the league you’re looking at other people’s spending power and stuff like that like Drummond goes for two for 10 Drew Eubanks got $5 million from Utah I’m like they’re not going to resign Tillman for more than the minimum I don’t think like maybe they push it up a little bit to try and get him back but I just figured that at some point like they can’t bring every single person back and like they did and it was really important man with with KP like you have to have this stable of bigs for the regular season and it’s funny like I think Luke cornette might be the better regular season’s like quote unquote Innings either but I think when you get to the playoffs Tilman is clearly a guy that can play because he can switch and can play Drop and can be you know maybe not as you know good Rim protection as someone like Luke kette but just so much more versatile defensively and like the offense hey we’ll see the the big the big winner here is me and Jack Simone uh bet for next year which uh is Xavier Tillman over under I think it’s 37% from three uh on I forget the attempts we’ll have to figure out figure out that one I feel like 60 attempts is probably uh a good number there but this is big dude with KP out and then a guy that can play another role in the playoffs he literally like switched onto Kyrie and Luca and got them up 3 0 in the finals oh Tai coffee coming in dropping the bomb Ty coffee loves zavier tman huge donation in the chat to the Vegas fund yeah straight to the Vegas fund dude uh yeah man I this one really like got me pumped pumped got me so pumped I was shocked that they got this one done I am I’m flabbergasted flumix I have like you know like in the Harry Potter books and movies you’re just like why would anyone side with voldermort he’s clearly evil but then like you hear his side and he’s like we’re Wizards we’re better than like humans and it’s like kind of true Brad is like Boulder moring people he’s like it’s the Celtics we just won the title like we’re just better than the rest of the league and you should like join us and be with us because we had Tillman’s bird rights we could give him any amount of money he wanted he probably could have been like give me two for 10 and we would have been like all right yeah sure no [ __ ] problem Tillman like that’s totally worth it because you’re a really good player and you’re very versatile defensively and like you kind of get our offense already but he got him for the minimum which is insane the only thing I can think about is like Brad was like saying to him yeah and there it’s not even a player option in the second year which is is insane to me I can’t believe he got him for 2 years he must have been like when Al retires you’re our guy and we will make we will make right on you in two years time like you are our dude sounds fun I would like FR to make right on me as well Brad’s like oh baby I will make so right on you your you just got to be Pati yes uh it it just this makes absolutely no [ __ ] sense he I guarantee he could have got a piece of somebody’s mid-level extension to make more money but Brad just was like we’re better we’re better than those lowly humans in the other 29 NBA teams and now he’s going to be on this team for two more years and and it it this is it’s like literally mind-blowing Tillman’s on for an a minimum for two years like I can’t comprehend why it would happen this early too you think at least he’d wait it out and see if he got a better offer in free agency for a couple days but no he locks him up you know immediately essentially in like two days time it’s it’s crazy yeah I was listening to Danger cart on forsberg’s pod before we went live here and he was talking about like the other aspect of this is why didn’t some opposition team uh in our conference offer him slightly more if nothing else than just to make life a little bit more difficult for the Celtics financially speaking for us exactly or to take him away from us and with our inability to sign players who weren’t already on our roster uh for for cheap money that would just U put us in a world of hurt financially speaking and roster building wise as well so the fact that no one made life difficult for us in that sense also mindboggling it’s a continuation of last year where like everything just fell in the right place for us and it’s like when when’s the luck going to run out maybe it’s the wick sale which we’ll get to um but just incredible stuff I also I just have to give one more thank you to Tai coffee as well that’s a very incredibly generous uh donation and I I promise you um we won’t burn too many brain cells spending it in Vegas thank you so much that’s really generous so like yeah and the great point from dread like he’s going to play in the first half in the of the season like I think cornette vers Luke’s going to be a real a real battle um I think there’s going to be Horford Tilman double big lineups cuz you can switch everything in those in lineups and still have a ton of size and bulk and like I saw a few people um like quot tweeting and replying to a like my Jubilation about uh the the contract relative to the Drummond contract and some Heat fans in particular being like uh the Celtics f are drowning in Brad Stevens Kool-Aid like why are they freaking out like Tillman’s not that guy it’s like where we actually understand what it takes to win a title like we know the value of having a guy that can come in in game three of the finals and help you win a game to go up 30 and win a title um I know you guys don’t know about that CU you haven’t won a title in like 10 plus years um yes would would would never be would never be me but like these these margin moves really matter dude like getting the one seed is really important part of why this the sub had a good path is because they had the one seed having the one seed is always going to be the better path and having Tilman and cornette and kada three guys that you can just rotate through hot hand wise someone goes down with an injury you still got two of these guys like you want to try and get that one seat it’s really freaking important you want to keep Al Horford’s minutes down you want to be prepared again for the finals like these things matter and Heat fans don’t understand CU they’re like screaming about how they just signed um who’ they sign today that um was was like a not notable not notable but like oh [ __ ] I remember was that it’s it’s blanking me they lost not notable is is the key Point yeah because they lost they lost Theon right they’re losing ccent Burks Alec Burks that’s right Alec Burks yes here dude Alec books it’s like and it’s like Ah that’s that’s our guy dude Alec books that’s Defender well with hate culture it’s like sucker dude Tillman’s better than Alec Burks he’s also way better than Drummond I saw somebody kill you Jake for being like well Drummond’s better than Xavier Tillman no he is [ __ ] not like Drummond’s been a myth he’s been like a cloud of smoke his entire career like he doesn’t translate to winning regular season I can hear the argument but who cares dude I’m not I’m not hearing that argument at all Drummond is like he looks like he should be really good at defense and he’s just not um he he’s just been like a fake positive player his entire career because he puts up big counting stats and tilman’s been the opposite lacks the counting stats but every advaned metric all the onoff they absolutely love him and he’s just flat out better than Andre Drummond and we got him for two years which is Le for 4.8 Which is less than what Philly’s paying for Drummond for one year so I feel like that’s pretty good move by Brad Stevens overall yeah Tilman can’t be played off the floor in the playoffs I would that number one in my like backup Big B skill set so you love can’t make a free throw actually kind of can’t either yeah we we’ll admit that for now I also I just saw that Al Horford’s house is up for sale on the internet and it looks poal I know what I’m doing after this pu uh house shopping now uh one other guy well actually got two other guys but this one’s pretty big fish Jason Tatum uh Boston Celtics star Jason Tatum uh reached an agreement with the franchise on a 5year deal $33.99 million supermax extension with a player option that is the largest contract in NBA history as of right now um his current annual salary is $33 million per year the upcoming annual salary through that contract is almost double 62.7 million per year and if he picks up his option in the fifth year he’d earn $ 71.4 million in that year but he’s our best player he’s a multi-time all NBA first team player uh to caliber player in the league and look if that shooting comes around or obviously or he just won a [ __ ] Championship extremely effective player extremely impactful player if that shooting comes around like you can throw out any of these is he or isn’t he top five arguments like he absolutely will be and uh I think it will putting myself out there I think he will learn to shoot on a consistent basis this is% yeah yeah this this is this has to be there’s going to be a whole episode we’re going to do in the offseason is like the Jason T three-point shooting cuz is like he just had his best three-point shooting regular season in multiple years and then had another like sub 30% three-point shooting playoffs and that’s two years in a row but then you go back to the 2022 finals run where he had like a far more grueling run so some people seen some people be like is it because of the load that he’s been carrying that’s why three-point numbers are going down but the 2022 finals load was like he’s by far his heaviest and by far the most difficult path and he shot 39% from three through that run so it’s nonsensical to me it might literally just be like a blip and shooting luck and he’s just going to have like a 42% which oh my God I would do like disgusting unable I would do disgusting things to guarantee a 42% Jason T playoff three-point shooting run but here’s the thing Jason Tatum five 26 years old five time All-Star three time first team all NBA third Team all NBA at age 21 one time NBA champ one time gold medalist five out of his seven years to the Conference Finals last three years one chip two finals appearances one Conference Finals uh shout out to Max on Twitter for pulling all of like the playoff totals for Tatum as per usual totals through age 26 Season wins fourth all time behind Kobe Tony Parker Magic Johnson points first all time total points by age 26 ahead of Kobe rron rebounds second behind the goat Bill Russell then Tatum Magic twight Howard Kareem and Celtics Legend Dave Cowans and then sixth in assists magic Rondo LeBron Tony Parker Maurice Cheeks Tatum and Kobe right behind him that is just nuts dude he’s going to be remembered as a guy that just won impacted the game in every possible way the versatility is just going to remain his like most underrated trait like I get people are just so scoring efficiency pilled um that like they they just miss the forest through the trees when it comes to at him like ironically he had a better true shooting than Jaylen Brunson throughout the whole playoffs who is laed as like this incredible volume shooter but like he led the team points rebounds assists every series throughout the entire playoffs the versatility he legitimately plays played one through five on both ends guarded switch on to Kyrie guards the center he’s your lead initiator he’s setting screens in Derek white and Drew holiday actions like name the role you need him to do he can do it I think there’s a case to be made that like maybe offensively he’s like slightly misc in the number one overall initiator role but like that’s what the Celtics need of him if they had like if Derek white for example was like a a Trey young type offensive engine then he would be the guy and Tatum would slip into the next role but like he’s our best version of it and he does a freaking good job leading a top offense for his whole career he’s never had an offense that Jason T has been a part of has been below 10th throughout his whole career incredible dude minister in the chat I was literally about to say this is like if Michael Jordan never existed and the Bulls built the team around Scotty Pippen that’s what’s happening with Jason Tatum right now but also he can shoot threes uh except for this playoff run it it is incredible like I I think we’ve talked about this before right I’m not breaking news here but the playoffs are all about getting your weaknesses exposed and we exposed Luca’s weaknesses on our way to a five-game win in a title right there is no weaknesses to expose for Jason Tatum because even though he’s shot like [ __ ] when he’s open if he’s if you just like oh let’s try leaving Jason Tatum wide open from three that [ __ ] ain’t going to work like he’s gonna make threes right exactly like he he has no weaknesses so in the playoffs that makes it so incredibly difficult to exploit the Celtics because not only does he have no weaknesses he also like covers up other people’s weaknesses as well especially on the defensive end where he’s guarding centers helping on the rim breaking up passing Lanes so $314 million I this is like sticker shot shock stuff right like he’s the fir Jaylen and him are kind of the first ones to hit it under the new cap as it continues to go up this is going to be like a bargain contract in two years because there’s going to be guys like when Shay gets paid it’s going to be even more money than this uh when Luca gets his next contract it’s going to be even more than this when wem’s up for his like super Max rookie deal it’s going to be way more money than this so it’s sticker shock it seems like an incredible amount of money but it’s still the same percentage of the cap as every other super super max was before it it’s just the cap keeps going up so seems like a lot of money he’s totally worth it we just won the championship the monkeyy off his back and I think he’s just going to be playing so loose so free in the next couple of years he’s going to elevate his game he’s already back in the gym on the Snapchat yeah that’s right yeah that’s right no days see you there JT yeah thinking basketball thinking basketball just did a podcast on the importance of two-way Wings in today’s NBA and we have locked up long-term two of the best two-way Ling Wings in the entire league which is incredible and I mentioned Tatum shooting earlier really only along the lines of imagine if he picked up on a consist basis and we’ve seen what that looks like and it’s like good league if he do but just watch game five of the finals if you want to see like the Baseline without the shooting which is him making all the right playmaking decisions when to drive when to um defer to a teammate how to penetrate if he’s got multiple on him how to get off and get a switch onto the right Defender he knows the right way to handle every single situation because even though he’s only 26 he’s had such playoff experience that he’s seen every single defense imaginable and he knows how to cut through it every single time and as long as he approaches each game with the right mindset and I mentioned game five cuz his mindset was like I’m [ __ ] winning this game despite the poor shooting he absolutely tore the Mavs apart that’s the Baseline without the shooting and the shooting’s g to come he’s young and like you said spoony or maybe it was you Jake the the monkey is off his back so like there is going to be a more relaxed approach there and there historically like that has happened to many top tier players throughout their careers they win that first chip or they find whether it’s a first Allstar team make or first all NBA team they reach a certain Milestone the monkeys off their back and some of those uh shooting stats or whatever they’ve been struggling with to that point starts to to melt away a little bit so I look forward to that happening with JT look this isn’t really news it happened it’s exciting but it was very predictable yeah we all knew it was going to happen big fans of the Jays here and they’re both locked up long term I do I did wish like you know it would be just really it would never happened because it does just doesn’t seem to be what happens and would be a union problem but like it would have been cool if Tatum was like give me the exact same contract that jaylen’s on just to be like I’ll save us a little bit of money and like he’s the finals MVP and you know it was just a complete fanfiction romanticized version of like how how this [ __ ] works but it’s like that’s it’s like I don’t even know if Tatum was anywhere near Brad when this thing it’s just like emailed him a docu sign and he’s like was like sick dude I’m going to go get some shots up and that and that’s how it goes now look very quickly because we’ve got to get to an ad read and we’re running over as usual here Drew Peterson two-way deal Brad maybe uh stockpiling potential Sam Hower Replacements we’ve got the shy man we’ve got Drew Peterson and we’ve at least got Sammy buckets for the next year on 2.1 mil but you know pretty standard two-way deal here for Drew Peterson coming back on on that that two-way contract any any thoughts other than hopefully we’ll see you at summer league and good luck in Maine yeah I hope he turns out to be good yeah people are very high on Drew Peterson I would caution folks to kind of pump the brakes a little bit he’s already 24 I know it worked out with Hower but like that doesn’t happen every time you know what I mean so hey I hope he turns good but the odds are kind of stacked against him I do like every time I check the main box score he’s got like 18 points nine rebounds and seven assists so like yeah just come in and be franchise available for sale uh the Investment Group purchased the team in 2002 uh it’s a massive devel development says wor for one of the sports most valuable franchises and then there’s the press release uh which of course failed to to load up into our streamyard here but there was some interesting verbiage about um like restructuring of Family Assets which is not a Verbatim quote of the press release but just some interesting wording there spoony you’re our resident law man I feel like we should go to you first what are what are your thoughts on some of the wording around this sale and what it means for the the near future yeah to me it looks like um Wick is just trying to get out but he has so many partners uh invested into his part of the shares that it’s going to be really messy um so it seems like it was first reported as like the entire team is going up for sale and then Pags came out with that like counter press release that he was like I’m going to be very involved in the bidding process so uh I I don’t know what’s going to happen I don’t know if it’s going to be the whole team going up I know often um you have to give your minority owners the right of first refusal on your shares so my guess is that might be what goes down but also they all stand to make like bajillions of dollars if they just put it up for bid essentially and make the most money because what if Pags is like oh you’re going to give us7 billion doar never mind I’m out too yeah um so it seems like that they’re at the very beginning of the process and Wick wanted to get in front of it before you know he’s filing paperwork with like the SEC and then it gets reported and he can’t control the narrative uh which I I think is appreciated and it just goes to show that he’s been an awesome owner and this is how you handle these types of complicated things as you tell people what’s going to happen up front but uh I’m I’m a little surprised and then you do the repeater tax calculations in three years and then you’re like oh they’re going to pay more tax in one year than Golden State ever has in their entire history so uh you know not beating the broke boy allegations still Wick a little bit Yeah pay the half a billion dollar check dude come on yeah right yeah don’t be a nerd Wick uh I I I think what right now all we know is the ownership structure of the Celtics is going to change uh but I think it’s very much up in the air how that will be but my hope is that is that paga is the guy who purchased it because he’s been the I think largest minority owner behind Wick and and have been very involved for this entire 22-year run um and they’ve been an awesome awesome ownership group so we want continuity that’s the biggest thing we don’t want ishbia making us trade assets for broken down Kevin Durant like we want an owner who will let Brad Stevens do his thing and Pags would be that guy yeah I didn’t like this I did not like this when I got the the thing like it literally took away my joy from the Derek white extension which is really upsetting so firstly Wick I would have really I’m guessing he was like okay I’ll bro I’ll drop I’ll drop this at the same time cuz it’s like oh I’m so happy Derek white but also ah so like everyone kind of it’s like that news bomb both positive and negative but I I personally would have appreciated just like a full 24 hours or really a full week to just like bathe in the glory of Derek White’s contract extension uh alas I feel like I reacted the same way as Tatum where Tatum was asked about it at like his Elite camp or whatever he was like I was pretty shocked I don’t want anything to change everything’s amazing it’s like yeah agreed so I was freaking out a little bit because ownership is probably one of the more underrated things about how a franchise can be successful like you look at you say ishbia um cronies and the Nuggets like letting Casey P go like despite being way more wealthy relative to the Celtics ownership group like um it really matters look at what what’s happened to the Red Sox like the it really really matters my dad was telling me how he he was forced to love some terrible terrible owners in the 70s like it was it was really bad and so like Wick you can’t really ask for anything more he’s been incredible since he’s taken over and then I listen to caralis on locked on and then Simmons’s pod last night was really good as well um and they really calm me down like Pags I didn’t realize Simmons was saying like almost bought the the Brooklyn Nets like before josi so like he already has president as like clearly wanting to be the guy as an owner of team and Simmons like said he’d be shocked if PS isn’t the guy who ends up buying it that made me feel so good dude like if we can just keep everything together as similar as possible that’s obviously the best case scenario and like if I’m Wick right like he’s essentially a fan dude like he’s from Boston where is he from Wester or something dester even a place hurting me sorry man the kid come on everybody was headed to whest the other day oh man I I watched the town like three times through the playoffs I’m sorry um but yeah so like he like he’s essentially is a diard fan man and so like I I think I’d be pretty surprised if he puts the team in the hands of someone that’s like clearly G like has the potential to be bad that would really surprise me if similar to the Derek white extension right it’s like what’s the difference between Derek white taking $30 million $120 million or $150 million his life’s prettyy much the same what’s the difference between Wick selling the team for 5 billion and 6 billion it’s a billion dollars but like I don’t know man it seems I don’t even think it’s possible to do anything different with an extra billion dollars not something that I’m familiar with but like I have I have to like he’s going to want to keep coming to the games right he wants to be yeah he wants to be you know praised and hailed as the king of the Celtics in the 2000s right like if he sells a team to someone who sucks and ruins the team that good faith will be gone like you like we have very short fans as sport very short memories as sports fans so it’s pronounced wor everyone’s cooking me in the chat here fair enough that’s that’s on meun and so like I think I think that he’ll put it in the right maybe I’m being naive too you know like um but I I I would be surprised if he like just hands the the the team off to like Elon Musk who’s like probably going to ruin the team yeah there’s so much unknown and then add to the fact that like we are like literally incapable of thinking like billionaires and even all the analysts who make a lot more money than we do are also incapable of thinking like billionaires and a lot of all we can do is like draw on the history of ownership and then like zoomed out even further than that the history of like billionaire Investments and the handling of those Investments and what we know is that Wicks the full group rather the the Boston basketball group or whatever they called paid $360 million for the team back in 2002 they now fac to pay more than that in tax next year though which is crazy but obviously adjusted to inflation it’s not that big of a hit but yeah Sur to say it’s a it’s a tidy investment for for Wick and cod there they’re they’re paying more for Jaylen and Jason by a lot yeah yeah then then they paid for the team that’s one Tatum essentially why you’re like what dude that’s that’s why I mean like you’ve you’re going to 15x your money minimum on that type of investment so like again that’s why I think the Simmons is actually you know kind of good on this stuff he he was like very like I was talking to all my rich guy friends like Simmons is not a billionaire but like he hangs out in the the rich person circles and like he’s going to have a line on what’s going on on this kind of stuff as well so hopefully uh we hopefully it’s fine please I thought that Simmons made a really interesting point which I think almost accidentally sometimes these days I love Simmons I still listen to every show but um he was just like these are getting so expensive that there’s like just less and less potential buyers out there so if you know someone’s interested you kind of just have to like jump on it because like okay you have a hundred billion doll asset well congratulations there’s no one on planet Earth who can pay for that so like it’s not a hundred billion dollars right so I thought that was pretty interesting is like Wick just seems like maybe he’s jumping on like before that luxury tax bill comes due like I’m just going to make mo more than 10x my investment which hey you know as a man with a you know 401K that’s not even close to you know seven figures never mind like 10 or 11 figures I I guess I can’t really hate now yeah I think Pags is is definitely it sounds like we’re all on the same page here is definitely the best pathway going forward from a Celtics fan perspective and you have the maintenance of of the culture and I don’t know how it works financially but essentially Wick Ducks out and then that group just sort of re um reforms and reacquires all that asset as a group sanss Wick grow back uh and then we’ve got PS who obviously has ties to the team he’s not sitting Baseline with Wick but I think his seat is somewhere like near behind joea there so if you’re watching the games closely you can see pag sitting there but like ownership uh it’s a culture thing like Deep Pockets is not always enough and just look at at the Clippers there with balma he’s thrown like infinite at that franchise new Arena any player you like all all the Investments and yet they just they haven’t had the same successes as a multitude of other franchises especially the Celtics because they don’t have that same quality of culture and it starts from the top in our case with Wick and Co and then instituting the correct front office personnel which then Cascades down to the players and the coaching staff Etc so it starts at the top and so having some sort of again that word continuity there with bringing Pags back as the key governor uh feels key in that and then for now we’ve got this gradual transition where Wick Remains the governor till 2028 unless someone like with insane money comes in and says I’ll give you 8 mil today if you [ __ ] off which I’m sure no one could blame him for taking that deal but for now for now it’s sort of calm Waters ahead at least forecasted in that pag where we’ll pick it up and and run from there any other thoughts before we move on um I just you know if if if Peg is going to become the guy like can we get us to the minority owners can we get can we get Brady in there can we get Damon can we get AFF can we get kg pissed at many Paul Pierce or like you know Jimmy Tuscano CNS Garden report he donated $1 to Wick gross backck um how many Celtics fans do you think there are in the world are there like a like 5 million 10 million yeah like be some way it’s I don’t know well there’s like proba it’s called 10 million it’s like one of the most iconic yeah Massachusetts is like 7 million alone all of New England’s probably like 12 million so you got to think 10 million se’s fans just there that’s good 10 million for easy math so 10 because they did extend Tyrese Maxi 5year 204 million they did bring back Kelly UB which for a little while there were somewhat positive that they would not be able to do but they did lose Nick Batum who’s left for the Clippers 2 years 9.6 million uh and then I put Drummond on there just to just to laugh at that situation again um and the misconceptions there from from Philly fans but Philly in in my mind I think at least in the East are now standing out as like the clear biggest threat to the Celtics with the the Knicks and maybe the Bucks to a lesser degree looming close behind them spoony like I don’t know we got to get to this because it is news and it is somewhat relevant to to the Celtics because they could contend for a title next year how do you feel about these latest Philly signings yeah I think Maxi rookie Max no-brainer like you got to do that Maxi’s worth it UB I uh forgot about one key factor about Philly they have cap space I was like well they use their ml Andro and like oh yeah they have cap space it doesn’t matter of course they could bring him back uh I I I think to me it’s the Knicks and if Milwaukee can stay healthy I think I might have them above Philly um Philly’s got real roster construction issues outside of their outside of Paul George and embiid really to me like even Maxi I think he can be exploited in a playoff series um and who knows what you’re going to get out of those you know what you’re going to get out of embiid and and Paul George in a playoff series like they’re just so banged up all the time but so is Milwaukee so I have no no idea what to do with those two teams but to me the Knicks are kind of the clear number two but if you’re Philly man you got to make big moves you got to be bold like it’s clearly not working you can’t go to war with your third best player being Nick Batum or I Paul Reed their fifth best player who’s the backup center that plays like 12 minutes a night so um I like their off season it’s just like super high risk to me which when you’re sitting from the Celtics perspective it’s like we don’t have to be high-risk because we’ve already done it we know this team works and our guys stay healthy other than poor zingis so um but overall like bringing ubay back I think is important for them Maxi they had to do it Drummond’s a complete and utter bum but I guess you need a backup center I’d rather just have Paul Reed my myself but interesting yeah they’re they’re high risk no matter what like that’s the thing like no matter what they do they’re just high risk because of imped being 30 and all the injury stuff so it’s just like bringing in Paul George versus playing the depth the depth signings whether they would have gone Casey P Gary Trent whatever let’s say they signed four guys that for them I I talked about how that might be better like to go like just a bunch of wings and like maybe like four or five guys as with the cap space as opposed to like two um but this but the risk is the same like it’s all comes back to embiid and how healthy he’s going to be and if he’s capable of like winning a title for me the Bucks and the Sixers still have the highest ceiling of the of the three I have them all in the same tier Nicks Buck six uh Sixers the Knicks have the highest floor though I think that they’ve got like the mo easily the most depth by far by far highest Flow by far but I just don’t I they don’t have the topend talent to me like at all like Brunson he great he’s great incredible player like really really good but like I just unless you’re Steph Curry dude I just don’t think you can be this incredible High usage guy that’s going to win a title unless your team is like stacked stacked but like they take like you go through the rosters of these teams again the Knicks can be really good without comparing them to the Celtics but like relative to the Celtics I still don’t think it’s that close like when you look at the the leap that Jaylen Brown has taken how good trall and like talking about the continuity as well like this Celtics team got learned so much about themselves and in how they can play in different ways in the playoffs like the the Missoula pudding Drew and dererk in the dunker spot thing that was like that was a revelation but that was year one of this team Tatum guarding the opposing team centers like that’s a revelation all these little things that they learned in their first go round this is going to be a learning learning experience for the Knicks learning experience for the Sixers so like from that perspective Cel is still way ahead Sixers got better I I I don’t think we have to be kind of like obtuse and be like this they shouldn’t have done this and not better there should yeah you have to do this move I think you rate like this is the highest ceiling possible outcome for the Sixers I’m not worried about them at all uh still like all things if you’re going to if you’re going to play the the health game for say the Sixers healthy you have to play the same game for the the Celtics and if the Celtics are healthy with Pingas it’s a five game series against all three of these teams still yeah and with the sixes like it comes down 100% to the health of Joel embiid like despite the the pieces they’ve added around him and if embiid is not like even close to 100% healthy come the playoffs then they really stand no chance we’ve just seen that without KP we’ve been able to make it through the majority of the playoffs and a huge portion of the finals without our big guy on the court at all let alone um you know partially healthy uh the Sixers they did lose DeAnthony Melton as well as Nick pum so they have lost some dep pieces on the wing as well which is not nothing yeah so they are they also are not done so they’ got plenty of moves to make from what I’ve seen is like they they’ve got like 9 million in space if they like get rid of Paul Reed and then and then they’ve still got assets like they got like the Clippers doing the James Harden trade now in retrospect is so insanely dumb because they gave up like one of their last picks which is now a really valuable pick in the future so the the Sixers I think are going to be TBD until the deadline I think they’re going to have like they’ve got massive holes right now they don’t have a starting lineup like Eric Gordon’s starting for them right now and if that’s a fact then then I can’t then I can’t take you I can’t take you seriously dude I can’t yeah even Kelly U shouldn’t be he’s not a starting caliber playoff guy like he’s just not and so there are a move away and they have moves in them in a way that the Bucks don’t and the Nicks don’t either really you know think Kelly is playoff like hold on my cat’s in the way yeah he’s not a playoff starter after like hucking shots off the backboard and Washington and Charlotte come on man and last year with that crappy Sixers team after embiid went down but um I like him there I I actually think no no definitely not I I think Philly’s ceiling might be the highest though because if you get like Paul George playing at an insanely high level and Maxi takes a step up embiid’s actually healthy that is the second best team in the East to me for sure and I think May Maybe not maybe not easily just because Dame Giannis whatever but Dame I think is just not going to be that guy anymore period um and defensively he sucks so I don’t know man Philly’s a bizarre ass they’re like a [ __ ] thought experiment for their fan base I feel bad for Sixers fans in some way because I it just feels like this is going to blow up horri for them I don’t know maybe I’m crazy yeah if I’m if I’m like defending my my home base like 99% of my defensive resources are like in the bunker looking at sonar and radar and looking out for the Knicks of the world and and the Phillies of the world but I’m sending one guy up to the Watchtower saying just keep an eye out for a healthy Damen Lillard we’ve had Doc Rivers saying he didn’t go into the season in proper shape and that’s obviously public knowledge now so like how does that filter through Damen lard and how does he approach he ramp up to this season just one guy in the watch just keep an eye out for a healthy day a threat potentially on the perimeter there that we need to keep an eye out for but for now I’m not overly worried yeah the the buck it’s like on one hand I’m like how is Dame gon to get better he’s old but I’m like Drew holiday has had the best one of the best players of his year of his career the difference is Damen lard is going to be asked to be like a incredibly High usage point guard where Drew holiday was like taking nine shots a game in the playoffs that’s a difference is that you come to the Celtics and Horford and Drew holiday it’s like coming to the best retirement home in the history of mankind it’s like we’re going to we’re going to prolong your Prime dude you’re not you’re not going you’re not going down you’re not going to be hanging out at dinner with um you know other old people like at the Bucks the whole team’s a retirement home whereas the Celtics retirement home is youthful it’s full of you know great activities going to the park nurses yeah great new we’ve got it all got it all that’s the difference man is is it like Dame Dame is going to be asked to do so much more at his age um as like an a guy that’s Ling on explosiveness in a way that Drew holiday kind of isn’t he’s more rying on strength so 100% 100% man Drew’s a beast man and Dame’s what 6’2 63 even on his jumper he used to get so high in the air on his three-point jump shot and he just kind of doesn’t anymore so I don’t know I think it just boils down to what you said the beginning J it’s like it’s yeah also Doc Rivers calling Dame out of shape that’s insane after the season’s over so I don’t know Celtics in five any of these teams doesn’t matter except maybe the Pacers the only team that truly scares me yeah now breezing through a few other final free agency points here Donovan Mitchell re-ups with the Cavs three years 150 mil we’ve got Kenny ains in as a new coach there maybe maybe a more competent coach best player pairing there um so they’re running it back with that iteration of the Cavs and they’re they’re at least an outside threat to trouble really any of these teams the Celtics but also the Sixers and the Knicks and a lot of talent there and a really great front Court lineup there with their two bigs um It’s not nothing but it’s probably close to it from a threat to the Celtics perspective he here’s a take the Cavs are closer to the Sixers bucks and Knicks than the Sixers bucks and Knicks are to the Celtics that’s how I that’s the scal LeBron measuring stick right that’s right yeah yeah I’m closer to LeBron than you are to me absolutely and and so like I think the Cavs is this is firstly very happy for Cleveland fans because they the second that Donovan Mitchell signed that contract all they heard was that he was going to leave for a bigger market and not resign and he did so I saw a lot Tony pester front of the podcast was just calling people out on the receipts so I was very happy for Cleveland fans and also actually think this is Spin Zone for the Celtics like we’re going to still beat them in five probably um and so like the the Cavs though can push a Knicks sixes and bucks to six or seven to make our path easier in turn because the team that we’re going to be playing in the next round will have just gone to six or seven against the Cavs whereas if they lose Donovan Mitchell that’s just like another team that uh that we probably kind of cruise through but the other team struggle with a bit more and the flip side is he didn’t go to Miami too which is a nice thing too so yeah very happy for the Cavs like their fans I’m a I’m a Kenny Atkinson guy it never made sense to me why he didn’t like took him this long to find a job after he did a really good job with the Nets I thought and they replaced him with Steve Nash um that’s it I thought biger staff did a pretty good job in our playoff series it was just mostly a talent disadvantage so I’m not I think Kenny will help the offense I’m not sure if can help the defense I think they’re probably at their ceiling defensively top five in the league type of Defense so um but happy for Cavs fans they’re a good team not probably not a threat to the Celtics but you know Tony’s a great dude they they deserve to dance on some Graves with this uh Mitchell extension for sure totally I’m goingon to read off a couple of MK signings here a couple of MK free agency events and let me know what stands out to you guys so torian Prince and D Riot to the buck Isaiah penstein to the Thunder Kyle Anderson traded to the Warriors Jonathan Isaac he re-ups 5 years 84 mil with the magic magic looking a little bit scary there with the uh the bringing on of kcp as well uh and then I added just before we went live here this is kind of separate to those that I just mentioned that OA Bret apparently left Canada’s uh International Olympic Basketball Camp to focus on free agency which I thought that’s what agents were for but anyway what stands out to you guys from that longish list like the Bucks have no moves to make really cuz they’re like so hamstr strong I thought they did a like great job with the minimums like for minimum guys Theon right and T and Prince are really solid and that comes back to what we were saying yesterday so this can’t promise anyone any minutes whereas like they’re going to like start for the bucks so like uh yeah I I thought great minimum signings like not like relative to what they’re actually capable of doing sure but uh but yeah and I dude OKC man like they’re going to be so good they’re going to that’s like the one team I’m like oh that could they could at least match up with the Celtics yeah I’m so glad they’re like way over there yeah yeah yeah see you I I I’m not can hartenstein and chat play together is kind of the one question to Me Maybe maybe they can maybe they’ll be great yeah I I think I think so too but um I do think that’s a question that needs to be answered um I would not pay Jonathan Isaac nearly $100 million I’m sorry he’s had so many injury issues he played 20 minutes it’s a game I know he was like dpoy amazing blah blah blah he offensively is probably a negative at this point in my opinion but the kcp ad for the magic is per he fits them perfectly they kind of need like a real point guard I don’t know what they do with Cole Anthony I think folz is probably out the door unless they resigned him and I missed it um but he’s going to work really well off of fron and Paulo so I love that signing for them I get that you just need to you know retain Isaac he’s Talent you want to keep him around he’s got legitimate defensive upside but like who had cap space that was giving Jonathan Isaac $20 million a year that you couldn’t just match that I I don’t know I don’t know also say nearly 100 is doing a lot of work there for five for 84 like five like five for 84 would you rather pay him 5 for 84 or Pat Williams 5 for 90 like 16.8 annual is like that’s a [ __ ] contract too though I agree but like I think in the new CBA it’s like I mean like everything’s so high I don’t I don’t think it’s like like 16.8 is like [ __ ] [ __ ] all now who’s paying him 17 yeah that’s that’s fair like who like who are you beating against here’s a question that we were talking about in the Discord last night I think posed by Stephen was who’s better the Pacers or the magic like who’s better who who would you be more scared of it’s still the paces in my opinion they’re like offense they had a number one offense like what are they are they going to fall from that that height so soon next season and the the magic still have a lot to prove like they’ve got a lot of good pieces they’ve assembled and I I really love the idea of Jonathan ISAC he when is fit and healthy is a really impactful player particularly defensively but potentially on both ends and therefore as an extension of that I love the idea of the magic and their pieces and what they could Voltron form like and put out there as an on the court product but we haven’t really seen that consistently and then with um France Vagner like losing his shot uh going into last year’s playoffs it’s like is that going to come back as that would be the initial building block to look at for the magic for them to have sort of sustained success I think going into the postseason whereas with uh Indie like we we’ve kind of seen it already right and yeah they need better health from um from hi uh but that’s that’s really it for them yeah hie is a bit of a um um a Turn Style defensively that you can Target as is Jaylen Brunson but I digress that’s a point for another day yeah I think India a Far and Away a better team as of right now than the magic I trust indies’s offense more than I trust anything about the magic I think is where I’m at uh their their defense is good uh the offense for them just seems impossible at times like especially with fron I think he shot 30% from three this year Paulo is not a great three-point shooter and those two guys have to play Big minutes for them so they’re just a weird clunky team um I think their upside is higher because you got a bunch of big wings that but that team doesn’t make as much sense to me in the short term as Indy like Indy made the Eastern Conference Finals I know there’s injuries blah blah blah stuff like that but hi seak and kind of the guys around them with Miles Turner too like that team makes a lot of sense together uh even though I think the Magic’s UPS sides higher but next year I would take Andy yeah I think I’m the same they’re kind of the inverse of each other like the magic I think was second or third in defense and had a struggling offense Pacers were the opposite I think regular season maybe Orlando has a better record potentially because they might just be a little bit more balanc with kcp coming in but then playoff wise I think their their offense is going to just still be a massive problem that is kcp a mass major addition going to really help but just so like the playmaking is a massive problem still it’s not there at all unless unless France goes back up to like a 40% three-point guy CU I think he could be the playmaker but unless you’re scoring is a real threat then your playmaking like doesn’t matter that much and so um I think I’d lean playoff wise I would go Paces steel just cuz like they’re going to score on the playoffs no matter what and their defense was like okay okay I thought in the nick in the Knicks uh series was like okayish and then no one can stop the Celtics especially the Pacers this tweet came out half an hour ago from Evan cider sideri I hope I’m getting that right um it’s a name I’ve read many times and never said or heard said out loud but he says the Kings Spurs and warriors all have significant trade offers on the table for the Jazz for Larry marinin Utah is mulling these packages over as they decide whether they will ultimately move Markin or not W teams uh yes Kings Spurs Warriors yeah beautiful sit back and watch it so good next to wemi holy [ __ ] he’s so good next to Wy good luck who whoever’s trading for him just be ready to hand over everything you got like if you want him like it’s Danny a there’s why I saw people be in like the Walker Kesler to the next thing like trade rumors I was like that would be that would be a huge move for them the problem is they’re running low on picks now um and like they’ve got three first left I think Danny’s asking for all of them the Nick is probably want to give Max and Danny is defitely doing the trade unless you give up two so it’s like you got know who you’re dealing with be surprised if a deal like that gets done Larry again you got to be give up the farm that’s like that’s how it works with Danny H so if you want you want the guy get ready to give up a ton of stuff I think if Danny can get the Hawks picks from Atlanta that would be where I think the deal gets done best of luck to all engaging with Danny AG uh look let’s wrap up on this kemell walker retires 12 NBA Seasons four-time Allstar was an Allstar with the Celtics in 2020 um you know we loved kber during his time with the Celtics and it was such a breath of fresh air coming out of that that Kyrie Irving situation we’ll call it that and my like longlasting memory of of Kemba with the Celtics and maybe his legacy with the Celtics was how he was like First Team all Vibes uh during his tenure with the Celtics and man did we need and man maybe especially in hindsight did the Jays need that where we needed a refresher a breath mint if you will to get rid of the stink of of Kyrie Irving and the stain he left on the organization kber comes in he’s all smiles literally uh and he definitely left his mark on on the Jays as far as like their mental approach to the game maybe enjoying the game learning to play more with more togetherness if you will um kber was right where we needed him when we needed him so I’ll always think think of him funly because of that loved Kemba he was awesome I know you guys aren’t college basketball guys his run they were going to be like a nine like I’m not even sure they going to make the NCAA tournament they RI through the Big E tournament and then rip through the NCAA tournament to win the national title they won 11 elimination games straight and kembo was at the helm wow and that is like one of the Great Feats in college maybe the greatest feat in college basketball history and yeah you’re right Ben just like ultimate Vibes men great dude played the game the right way an electric on his day like absolutely like when the pullup jumpers were going down and he was getting to the rim before he hurt his knee that dude was so fun to watch so absolutely love Kemba you know hope he has a happy retirement he made plenty of money so he’s going to be very happy for the rest of his you know let rest of his days yeah I’m always going to wonder if that knee thing was going to pop up no matter what or did Nick nurse do it at the help didn’t help who played him over his minutes restriction in the freaking allstar game because he’s a terrorist and then G’s knee was cooked for the rest of his career including in the bubble it’s just like it’s it’s funny like my favorite Kimber moment is like all the off the court stuff like his Vibes and like the miked up stuff I vividly remember in the bubble him talking I think Grant Williams being like you missed 10 shots in a row you got to believe the next one’s going in next one’s going in and like that’s the kind of stuff I going remember about kmba he was so willing to let the Jays be the Jays like that was the first year we got Tatum beat Tatum and in the bubble that was Tatum’s first real run and that was partly because out of necessity because Kima wasn’t the same guy but even before the the shutdown um and now I’m just remembering all the bad things now like oh the shutdown will be great for km’s knee nope NOP uh not good for km’s KNE so maybe that’s why it was like it was always going to go down that way but like he he was a great uh great guy to have um in between there and it’s such a bummer that like if he because he was an All-Star starter that year like if he if we had gotten that Kemba in the bubble like we’d probably make the finals dude like pretty easily because you you you don’t go to seven against Toronto if kemba’s like you know himself and then against the Heat you know again he was a legit Allstar he was like barely playable in the in the Conference Finals which is such a bummer but he was he was awesome but I like I’m trying to think of like a kber moment I know he had like a big game against that Nicks comes to mind like game against the Bucks like he was awesome in the first round against the the Sixers the Al Horford Sixers that’s cuz like Brett Brown had Jo embiid playing like a drop coverage like where he was underneath the rim he was like and Kell was like walking into like 16 foot jump shots I was like this is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen um but shout out Kemba like he’s he’s been announced as like on the horn it’s coach stuff like which is which is amazing I was hoping maybe he’d come to the Celtics um seeing the clip going around of Charles Lee coaching a Hornets practice made me be like oh man I hope I don’t miss him too much but um yeah I don’t know real quick on Kemba I remember every time we played in Charlotte they would show clips of him like in the stands hugging people and like talking to like you know the maintenance workers and [ __ ] and I was like that’s just one of the best dudes on the planet probably so yeah red that’s not to say he wasn’t awesome on the court he was especially in Charlotte but I had the same issue like thinking of like a key the best on the court moment for kemell Walker in a Celtics Jersey I couldn’t really think of one and yeah it just goes to show that yeah he was just an incredible person yeah AJ in the chat K help helped us all all the way to ke kber helped us all the way to his end with the Seas getting us L yes correct thank you that might that sentence that might be his best moment is helping bring Al Horford back to the Celtics so yeah absolutely uh I did scrub the internet for like highlights trying to find that that big you know kber game or cber moment for the Celtics I did find this which is you know whatever it’s a it’s a whatever moment but it is at the very least quintessential kber backs off in the shot clock at eight Ibaka’s got Walker on the switch step back walker we’ve seen that before and it’s a three-point lead for [Applause] [Music] Boston that so you’re right and that should have been it followed up by the ne like the end of the game he like broke down the defense and had a dump off to Daniel T up and they’re up to go up 3 and actually it was a different game up to go 3 4 seconds on the clock Jaylen Brown falls asleep and Oobi um hits that three to put the series at 2-1 as opposed to 3 so that should have been the iconic kber moment was game three cuz that changes kind of the Outlook of of that playoffs but yeah we got up 3 after Danny the hoop there that was a sick I remember that well I certainly remember the OG shot well unfortunately way better than I remember any specific kber Walker Celtics moments but uh consumate Vibes man First Team all Vibes kber we are going to wrap it up there that is going to do it for this
