I knew it was bad from the eye test alone but man does he absolutely nuke our offense. It’s a wonder how Trae still looked good this past season with Clint and DJ actively hurting him on the offensive side of the ball. If the plan is to start Daniels or for him to get any amount of significant playing time I don’t think you can have him and Clint on the floor with his current shooting ability. I know Clint does a lot for us when it comes to rebounding and defense but we need to figure something else out at the center position because he’s been declining year after year and that trend is only only going to continue. If we can’t find a deal for someone better I think it’s time we give O a real shot. He’s got chemistry with the team and it seems like everyone plays their best basketball with him on the floor.

Even if we keep Clint, I expect OO to start.
That said, Centers have a lot of value this offseason so it would be great to move him and get some assets while his value is slightly inflated.
Been saying this. We’ve never given OO a fair shot at center and the time that he has started, he’s been solid. Never really understood why people gave up on him as he’s still young, a solid defender and he’s developing a 3pt shot. Give him one season and see how it goes. if he does well we have a starting center who’s on a great deal, if not, he’s a great backup on a very moveable contract.
Take this down now and stop sharing it! You are gna hurt his trade value. Now every one is gna know.
I think if we can’t unload he or Dre I’d be fine if we brought each off the bench. Start OO and ZR over them and that’s a good bench.
I stright up told someone that OO shot 33% of 68 attempts from 24+ feet, Clint shot zero shots from that distance. And this person basically tried to argue because he can’t space like Kat he has same spacing as Clint.
When in reality even a little spacing makes a difference.
Daniels isn’t that bad of a 3pt shooter though. Sure only shot 31% for the season but over his last 10 he shot 40% on a small sample size and his stroke looks legit. I think he just needs more repetition and minutes. He started out horrible in Oct and Nov but got better as the season went on and was closer to a 35% shooter.
But definitely do agree we need to move on from Capela. Trae needs a better PnR partner. Someone who’s a a threat as a pop shooter or a lob threat.
Wow a paint clogger who also can’t make layups makes driving to the basket impossible. A surprise to no one who watches the games
If you watch hawks games you’ll notice how bad Capela is compared to other bigs in the league. It’s no mystery that he barely performs against top 20 bigs. It’s crazy that it took this long to even think about getting him out but better late than never.
Clint has value. If things go well this season he’ll get plenty of burn early, and the Hawks will be looking for a value trade to move him and Hunter by the deadline.
