Finally some movement. Hoping for some good moves 🤞I’ve liked what we’ve done so far this offseason so I’m optimistic.
So this gives NOLA a 9-10m trade exception, and they are trading Val for basically nothing(a second round pick that probably won’t even convey), which to me signals they are looking to use that exception and they are definitely looking for a new center. I wonder if they will add OO or CC to the deal or if the center will come from another team.
If the hawks are moving on from CC that might leave us room to trade or sign for a new starting center. Or maybe they are just dumping Salary. Clearing salary makes sense for the FO, but if they are trying to keep Trae here I can’t imagine they are letting Capela walk with no plans for an upgrade. Trae likes Capela too much and it’s a very unserious move imo.
I’m hoping for some odd three team trade involvement into the DJ trade that moves CC and his contract, and brings us a big 7 footer to go with OO. Then sign and trade Hunter for Derozan. Sign one more shooter like Shamet. Roster done.
I know we are not on the Derozan radar of places to go. But a veteran presence in place of Hunter would be a great fit IMHO. He still can shoot it.
