Jackson has 11 coaching rings ðŸ˜. Pop is obv a legend but come on
yutzykrop
Phil Jackson. 13 finals appearances, 11 championships, 14 conference finals, and three-peated 3 times. #1 in career win % (70.4% vs Pop’s 62.8%. Not counting Mazulla due to low sample size).
Coached 3 different dynasties (MJ Bulls, Shaq Lakers, and Kobe Lakers), managed super stars like no other coach, never underperformed with rosters with adequate talent, and was just so dominant for a long time. He was probably the only coach who was able to handle Rodman and connect with players in a unique way. Pop was not able to effectively coach Rodman in 95, and he ran out his 2nd franchise cornerstone in Kawhi. Phil I believe, was much better at managing high profile super stars.
Yes, Phil coached some legends, but Popovich never even went B2B, which is noteable blemish to his resume. Phil 3-peated 3 separate times, which is incredibly hard and rare to do.
