I would want him to say this. And player who’s worth their salt would have this mindset.
Part of me wishes we would go all in on and buy another star but I’m not sure if we want to pay the contract price or trade price for Zach Lavine, Lauri Markkanen, Brandon Ingram, those guys. I personally think Quickley, Barrett, Barnes, Markkanen, Poeltl as a starting lineup would be great.
All indications are they are going to try to win games. I’m not counting on being in position to grab on one of the big names this upcoming draft, short of some massive ping pong ball fortune.
If Scottie is good enough to drag us to a playoff spot or play in Win this year I’d be ecstatic
Sorry Scottie but get used to some more ugly seasons. This team is 1 draft away from being 1 draft away to becoming top 6 playoff contenders, let alone championship contenders lol.

Should hopefully silence the pro tanking crowd. Remember despite it being a perfect storm, I don’t think a single member of the 2019 Raptors squad was a lottery pick.
It is possible to win without a high lottery pick and build from the middle if the GM is smart with their team building, which despite the hiccup of waiting too long with Fred and Pascal, Masai and Bobby have shown they can do.
I don’t think they’re an automatic lock for the playoffs, but with how the team is constructed, making a guaranteed playoff spot isn’t entirely out of the question with a little luck, especially if the core takes another step.

Even if the Raps aren’t capable of winning right now, this is still the mindset we want to see from young NBA stars. Sure probably every players wants to win but for a star it’s important for success.
