Zach Lowe is about 2 years late — no shit it’s a disaster buddy

  2. zachlabean

It’s become harder and harder to enjoy Zach Lowe.

Only reason I’m sharing is because Lowe has been regarded as one of most nuanced voices out there. I was wondering how any of you feel about this. It’s fine if people want to be critical with us. It’s valid. But it has also become excessive at this point. They also contradicts their own statements, and show a lot of double standards compared to other teams. Just feel like the NBA people have really targeted us for some reason

  4. NoFallOff

Yeah no fucking duh, Lowe. I can’t stand this guy, he’s almost Simmons level.

  5. “Can Patrick Williams do some stuff” – amazing analysis … dumbass.

I have no idea why people in here are so upset by what he said. Everything he said was true. The Bulls did mismanage their assets and they are entering a scuffed version of a rebuild due to that fact. He’s allowed to acknowledge that and question it.

I mean again this is the same shit that’s been so exhausting in the last six weeks. *For YEARS* people have been demanding that the Bulls blow it up. The second they blow it up people bitch about it. Like it would have been nice to get a FRP for DeMar, but that would mean getting stuck with an aging vert who likely isn’t going to be easy to move and will send the team into the tax for no fucking reason and take minutes away from the young guys. All for what? A pick swap in 7 years? A swap that might not mean shit?

Meanwhile when the Bulls go for a player over second-round picks for AC people bitch and moan. Apparently it’s a bad move to get picks back but it’s a bad move not to get picks back and it’s a bad move to trade guys and it’s a bad move to keep them.

It’s just annoying as shit to listen to people act like the Bulls are in some death spiral when they’re trying to go younger after spending two seasons complaining that the Bulls aren’t going younger. Given how people have reacted the Bulls could have gotten more picks than OKC in these trades and people still would bitch.

At this point I almost wish the FO didn’t make any moves just to fuck with people. Run it back two or three more years just to make people even more upset.

Oh no! Don’t want to lose our opportunity to compete in the play ins! Stfu lowe. We rebuilding.

  9. AnusButter2000

Wow. A Lowe Post where the focus is not on the Lakers.
    Break out the champagne

  10. VintageMoonDream

A brain dead take from him, geez it just goes to show you that no one fucking watches this team. God I wish I could get paid big money to just say basic ass shit like that or to act out ridiculous takes on players, seems easy as fuck. Anybody with more than 50 brain cells knows we haven’t been in it good since Lonzo went down. Vooch sucks. Zach got injured. All too obvious.

  11. WhoDey918

His next podcast will be about how the Charlotte Hornets won’t be contenders next year.

  12. Imagine a world where we deal Zach, Demar, Caruso, and Drummond at the height of their value and a portion of the fan base is upset lol

  13. Accomplished_Bid7987

I mean it is a disaster given that we went through an entire rebuild, pushed all our chips in for the Mid 3, gave up Markkanen, AC and Demar for nothing, maxed Zach, gave a stupid extension to Vuc.

All that for one playoff win in 6 years. Now we go through another rebuild/retool with only Coby who has all-star potential (Too early to say anything on Matas)

Can shit on Zach Lowe all you want but it’s been a shitshow and it’s been painful seeing us go nowhere.

  14. Nosound-Novideo

If DeMar and Alex were that good how the hell did they lose to Miami; it’s the sole reason AKME decided to pivot.

  15. Beytoven

So much salt in this thread. This sub hates any non-Chicago based media member since most of them pretend this team doesn’t exists; and the ones that do acknowledge them tends to be critical. Most of you aren’t even gonna take the time to listen to the clip and hear his reasoning. He’s on the money here, like it or not.

  16. smallsbiggie23

I listened to the podcast. The criticism that the Bulls waited too long to trade DeMar, Caruso, etc, is fair. However, I disagree with the criticism that the Bulls should’ve taken Harrison Barnes to get the pick swap. If the goal is to keep the 2025 pick, then you don’t want a player like Barnes who would make the current team better. There will be a lot of competition to finish bad enough to get one of the top 10 picks, so we need to be bad enough to get there. Barnes added to this current team could have us picking 11-13 and losing the pick to the Spurs.

It wouldn’t be easy to trade him, either. 16 other NBA teams are in the 1st or 2nd apron, which makes trading for a player like Barnes, making $20M, challenging (which is also one of the reasons it’s hard to trade Zach). Keeping the 2025 pick is more valuable than the 2031 pick swap. If Zach had already been traded, it would’ve made sense to do it because we’d be much worse without Zach and Barnes is not an upgrade over Zach.

Everyone harps on the Bulls for not paying the tax, but paying the tax when you aren’t good enough to contend for a championship is dumb. The Bulls paid it in 2012 and 2015 when they were trying to contend. We’ve never been in contention since then.

  17. TheYellowMamba5

The Bulls are such an obvious dumpster fire they never get talked about by mainstream media. I will never not welcome public, well-deserved criticism for the scumbag cheapo Reinsdorfs and nor should anyone else. Like the McCaskey’s, that avenue may be our only hope.

  18. Gyshall669

Lowe saying the same thing this sub says and yet gets roasted for it lol

  19. IlliniBull

AK sucks at his job. Like I get he got what he could at this point, but the point is he should have traded earlier when literally every other GM, all non-Bulls fans, well over half the Bulls fans and pretty much every casual watcher knew it.

Also the circular logic here is actually the logic defending AK.

AK defenders a month ago: He couldn’t trade Caruso and Demar earlier because he was trying to win.

AK defenders now: If Demar and Caruso were that good how come we weren’t winning with them?

You all can’t have it both ways. If we were not good enough to win with Caruso and Demar, then AK fucked up earlier and his excuse he was trying to win shows he was wrong. Either he does not understand what it takes to win from a roster, which is a problem or he does not, which is an even bigger problem.

If they are that good, then he should have gotten more for them.

It can’t be both. Either that or you have to admit he fucked up too, he’s a bad GM this far and stop blaming everything on Jerry wanting to win.

  20. Petterfrancisjeraci

Controversial Opinion: I have not been screaming from the rooftops that everyone needs to be fired… But the FO’s definitely batting at their last pitch. If they can’t recover then they need to go.

Now, I do support the Reinsdorfs selling their teams. Both of them! PLEEZ!!
