The Jazz want a 1st round pick for Kessler….is he worth it?

Do you all think it would worth it for the Lakers to send a 1st and let’s say JHS over to the Jazz for Kessler?

He’s only 22, 7’1, and has 2 years left on his contact for about 3 mil/year. He averaged 8/8, i think it could be a trade that worked in our favor since he addresses our need for a legit backup center. I say DO IT

    JHS, Reddish, top 3 protected 1st, 2 2nds.

If the Lakers somehow get their obvious wish of keeping at least one pick but can make a good upgrade, go for it.

He’s worth it but AD’s jumper is broken so idk how he’d fit

The price to pay to protect AD from playing the 5? I’d say yes. Might help with his DPOY run too.

Yeah man, throw in JHS while we’re at it, that’s 2 first round picks right there

  7. He’s a decent finisher/rebounder with great rim protection and hes young on a cheap contract. 1st rnd is worth

Watching both Kess vs Edey is tough right now. I wanted both of them. Grizz aren’t getting Edey the ball enough. Kessler is defending well and a lob threat on O. Edey might be better than a lot of scouts thought but time will tell. Summer doesn’t mean much

You can get Nick Richards for 2nd rounders

  10. It’s funny, but he reminds me of zu, who magic and co shipped off for a bag of beans

  11. Yeah – wonder if we can do a swap and unprotect the 27 first

Yeah you won’t likely draft a better player

Without giving up DLo, AR, Rui and Vando? Of course. Let’s do it.

Of course. I’m out of the loop. Is it remotely possible?

  15. yeah. and some other team will get him while the lakers will think about it

  16. Getting him upgrades the defense and takes pressure off of AD. Plus he would be lob threat. Make it happen rob.

One first fuck yeah. Would be nice too since it we can consolidate and decrease our roster spots

We need to strike on this guy 100% we already got teams like the Knicks monitoring him and they want him. we should easily be able to outbid teams wanting Kessler.

He is but I don’t believe the Jazz want to trade him actually.

Hate to disagree with everyone here but he’s not worth a 1st. There’s a reason he’s on the block. There’s rumors that he had a bad attitude last year, and wants to shoot 3s instead of working on what the coaches wanted.

We’ve seen this time and time again. Examples being Jaxson Hayes and Mo Bamba. I’m sure teams would’ve given up a 1st for them after their rookie years. That would’ve ended up looking ugly. These type of bigs are replaceable and not worth investing top assets into.

We need our 1sts for NEEDLE MOVERS. The new CBA incentivizes drafting and makes trading picks extremely risky unless you are one piece away.

If you’re trying to “upgrade around the margins” this is the perfect type of deal

DLo JHS and a first for Sexton and Kessler. Get it done
