[Applause] what have you been up to uh just been working you know been in the gym getting used to the plays um getting used to my teammates understanding uh the coaches so it’s been good what is what happened today at practice what was the emphasis uh just play hard and you know it’s a lot of stuff that’s being thrown at us right now but um they’re saying the biggest things is to play hard and get through it you know and you know just show that you’re willing to work you know so what are you most looking forward to in your first summer league experience honestly just getting able to play you know being able to play with the teammates being able to win games and experience these moments together you know I’m excited for it sunk in that you’re you know you’re wearing a nuggets uniform you’re in the NBA it’s sunk in it’s sunk in right what are the coaches kind of communicating to you in terms of the expectations at summer league for they’re just saying take one thing step at a time uh there’s a reason we’re doing summer league it’s for us to get to understand the plays getting ready to know uh getting used to everything it’s a lot getting thrown at us so we’re just trying to get used to everything one step at a time you told us that Julian reached out after you were drafted how beneficial has he been to your progression it’s getting used to this organization especially having experienced Summer League last year he’s been amazing you know um even on the court he’s helping me walk through things that I might not understand just yet um Hunter’s doing it J uh p is doing it all of them are doing it you know so uh it’s a I’m very grateful to be in this position to have guys that are willing to help me out you talked so much about how you just want to get to work they haven’t proved anything yet when you first got here what’s it been like for you to finally get on the floor what’s been your mentality doing that it’s been it’s been great you know it’s kind of like freshman year all over again um it’s it’s a lot it’s a lot but you know it’s something that it’s a learning it’s learning experiences and that’s what’s fun about it you know you get to learn through adversity and you get to um grow through it so I’m excited to keep going sure that you stay patient with yourself and learning all these new things just taking things one step at a time breathing asking questions asking the coaches the coaches have been very helpful my teammates have been very helpful so um I’m just grateful to be in the situation what position do you see yourself playing at the NBA level I know you played four or some five in college what position do you see yourself as I’m probably mainly going to be at the four um from what I’m seeing right now but also have to be able to learn the five as well so is there a specific aspect of your game that you want to experiment during the summer league that you can kind of get some reps in before the regular season starts honestly I’m just going to do what I do you know um I feel like I’m versatile enough already uh just being able to play in the system you know play hard on defense rebound the ball talk communicate and just learn that’s really all I’m really looking forward to and how beneficial are like getting real game rests uh at this juncture in the season as you progress very beneficial it’s been a minute since I’ve played an actual pickup game and you know this is the first time we’ve got up and down in practice so um I’m very grateful it’s been great shot or your favorite action to get to on the floor oh well I mean I like all of them right now so I can’t really pick one but um it’s still a lot so I’m still learning them but uh they’re all good actions when you look at your schedule in summer you know I think this is a great team I’m more excited to just play with these teammates um I feel like we have a very good team and we’re ready to get out there saw you went to Little Man Ice Cream the other day if you were to uh describe your game as an ice cream flavor what would it be salted Oreo it’s very versatile salty and sweet do both things she had to cut the line huh I didn’t I don’t I didn’t get to cut the line line still got yeah yeah yeah it is crazy but uh today the day I went it wasn’t that bad so the Nugget organization obviously is investing in the youth you Julian Jaylen and Hunter what does it do for the fond of you young guys knowing that this organization is investing in the young for um I think that’s part of what makes this organization special uh they’re willing to help develop the guys you know they’re not so quick to you know hey you guys go go go you know um they understand us you know and they understand that we’re getting better over time if you look at uh the the way they built their organization you know that’s part of it that’s why they’re winning games that’s why they’re so good because um they let guys play together with time they keep the same core around so um I’m just grateful to be in this situation and how exciting is it to see that the pillars of this organization joic Murray Porter they were guys that were drafted and developed and that’s something that they probably have a vision for you as well oh yeah it it’s it’s very cool you know it’s a it’s a blessing honestly and I just know that you know they were all in the similar positions that we were coming in the new class so we’re just excited to follow their footsteps I know you said the coaches have been really helpful so far but specifically coach Mone I just noticed he walked in have you had a chance to talk to him much and what has been his message to you yeah uh he did he talked he just said the same thing I’ve been saying with you know it’s a lot of stuff being thrown at me at once and he understands that I’m not going to be perfect um and the rest of the guys as well so I think his overall message is to play hard regardless and um do what you do you know just continue to play hard through it but understand you know you don’t have to be perfect
