talk about resilience after losing in overtime on Monday the Grizzlies get a nice last second Victory on Tuesday even up their slate here in Salt Lake City at 1 And1 I’m here with Coach Jason March Jason what was it like to sort of come out obviously and you guys uh played the way you played in the first quarter but then to come back in that second quarter get back into the game you talked about going into the locker room the fight that you saw in that second quarter set the tone for the second half yeah I mean if I’m completely honest that first quarter was was really ugly um on both ends of the the floor we weren’t making shots but we weren’t defending the way I know we’re capable of Defending you’ve heard me say it multiple times this team can guard um I felt like we got in that second quarter I think Isaiah Miller kind of turned the tide Force getting up picking up causing some turnovers then of course that helps your offense when you’re a able to get some easy buckets um but then the rest of the game we gave up 18 in the second 18 in the third 18 in the fourth uh we showed what we can do defensively and I felt like it it was uh it was great for our guys you said after Monday’s game that it’s it’s just a matter of shots falling you guys were happy with the shots you were getting seems like tonight they started to fall a little bit more Jaylen Wells got it going at late in the first half carried it into the second half cam Wells the other rookie excuse me CAM Spencer the other rookie had it going early on what was it like to see those two sort of bounce back after Monday yeah I mean both of those guys can make shots so no concern there um honestly I felt like our shots still weren’t falling the way we would like them to fall for us but it it doesn’t so I mean Philly was in zone all night long something you don’t really see in summer league um so it kind of It kind of threw us out of whack a little bit at the beginning but what won us the game was our defensive effort um so offense it was honestly it was just ugly for us um we had to work for every possession every shot but our defense won us a game if we continue to play defensively like that um I feel like we’ll have a pretty successful summer one more opportunity Wednesday here in Salt Lake City what’s the message to the team as you guys try to wrap it up take care of your bodies try to find some energy for tomorrow three in a row um we’ll hopefully get some more some of those other guys back that played in game one um and and and just come out and uh same thing nothing changes for us we got to we got to defend we got to catch and shoot we have open looks and we look to be attack mindset and get in that paint all right see you tomorrow coach all right
