Lakers Going Hard For Jerami Grant Trade
what’s going on everyone so the Los Angeles Lakers are pushing hard for Jeremy Grant the Lakers based on report seem to have appeared to have touchbase with Portland more than any other team uh the Lakers are looking for a clear upgrade at the three spot uh all their targets are like guys out on the perimeter obviously Jeremy Grant got cam Johnson Dorian finy Smith as well as Bruce Brown is a name that has recently come to light uh but out of all of those players Jeremy Grant seems to be the that they’re really pushing for which makes sense I mean there is a real genuine argument Jeremy Grant is better than all those guys I think Jeremy Grant as a whole is personally better than all those guys um you know I think cam Johnson is the the closest uh to Jeremy Grant as far as his ability to play off ball make plays put the ball on the deck size defensive versatility all of those factors right where adorian Smith yes he’s a a prototypical 3 and D guy uh who yes he’s a little bit older but he would still be perfect he’s like the cheapest out of all of them uh Bruce Brown doesn’t really give you the three-point shooting he’s not he doesn’t have the size that the other guys have uh so you look at like the whole package of Jeremy Grant and he just makes a ton of sense right could play both forward spots sought him at the three alongside LeBron and AD sought him at the four at times and play him alongside ad and you know connect or you know a Jared vanderbelt or whomever right like the the versatility with Jeremy Grant would be great his ability to just go give you 20 on any given night plus uh he can defend the best player on the other team uh he’s a guy that shoots 40 plus% from three point range great catch and shoot uh shooter all the things that you would check off a list if you were trying to get this kind of guy to pair alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis now he isn’t perfect uh you know there there are a lot of questions about like his motor and his commitment at times right like you watch him play there’s even moments where it just it looks like he has like he’d rather be someplace else right and the Lakers have tried to trade for him on several occasions uh particularly uh when he was still with Detroit a couple years ago and they almost had the deal done but Jeremy Grant said something along the lines of like he didn’t want to be a third option and I mean you even look at his time in Portland he has talked heavily about how he wants to stay in Portland he likes the situation he’s in you know there’s an argument to be made that maybe he just doesn’t really want to come and if he is traded here is he going to be committed is he going to be locked in engaged and ready to to go for the goal that the Lakers are looking to go for which is winning an NBA championship right some guys are comfortable and happy you know being the the number one guy and get 20 shot attempts and make 30 million a year I mean Kyle kosma who is a target that the Lakers are targeting again he had a chance to go to Dallas and would have won another championship but he was like n I’m good I did that with LeBron and AD and was the third fiddle I like where I’m at so it just becomes and begs the question with Jeremy Grant but Portland really seems to want to trade him they’re not in a rush they’re not in a hurry they’re not just going to trade him just to trade him but they don’t necessarily want him on the roster come the beginning of the season because they’re in full tank mode right they want to kind of grow and develop their young Talent tank for a draft pick Jeremy Grant takes away from the young guys that could be playing uh no he’s a guy that’s going to take shots and everything else right uh and also probably win more games than you would want to with a team that’s kind of tanking and rebuilding so they want to move off of Jeremy Grant but it’s the asking price the asking price right now is insane they essentially want both Jared vanderbelt ruy hamura and two first for Jeremy Grant now that obviously and I’m sure you would agree watching this I’m sure Blazer fans or non- Laker fans would say like oh that’s fair you got to pay something to get something right which I agree you do have to give up something to get something right but there is fair value right there is like this is a clear Laker tax thing because teams know like hey you’re kind of desperate you’re in a position to where you you have to make a trade right LeBron’s probably taking the Max And Then There goes your mid-level exception there goes a lot of your options and so it’s really putting the Lakers in this bind right now Jeremy Grant is essentially if you know Jared vanderbelt and ruy hamura had a baby and that would be Jeremy Grant right cuz ruy hamura is excellent offensively not very good defensively uh unless he’s playing the four he’s good at defending the bigger guys right we’ve seen like what he did to like Carl Anthony towns the way he holds his own against yage at times right but uh being that kind of three and D guy out on the perimeter that’s not really Ru hamura and then Jared Vanderbilt on the other side he’s a guy that again excellent defensively he’s one of the best if not ARG the best on ball defenders in the entire league but it’s the offensive side of things right where Jeremy Grant is basically both he’s the defense he’s not as good defensively as Jared vanderbelt but he still is good defensively when he’s locked and engaged and then offensively he’s as good as ruy haimura in my opinion ruie the mid-range for ruy is definitely better but I think Jeremy Grant his ability to just kind of maneuver through the te of the defense and get to the basket right he’s a little more versatile on the offensive side of things so you know there is this okay fine know if you want V and ruy okay well then the picks right like you’re not getting too F like he’s just not worth that as good as he is he’s overpaid right which you have to take into account when you’re when you’re making types of Trades again he’s definitely a 20 to maybe 25 million player but he’s making 30 plus million and then by the time the contract’s over it’s like 34 million so he is over overpaid on top of him being overpaid again there are questions about his commitment his engagement uh you know how motivated is he and and winning I mean this is even Dayton B I mean you got to think of all the teams he’s been on in the last few years from Denver to Detroit to you know Portland to I mean the guy is not a guy that’s you know basically been on one team for Seven Seasons eight seasons ends up demanding out goes to a team and then sticks around tries no he’s basically been just let go I said I mean Detroit traded him just basically straight up for first right so that’s the thing is that like I like Jeremy Grant a lot but there are a lot of factors you have to take in play for a guy like Jeremy Grant now if it was ruy and Jared vanderbelt and maybe a first be a tough pill to swallow don’t get me wrong but to me it’s like okay you’re basically getting those two guys combin and that would also free up opportunity for other guys right that would free up an opportunity for like connect and Max Christie more right like so your your younger guys kind of get the the opportunity and the momentum right because you could slot uh Jeremy Grant to the four at times if you needed to um and kind of go that route also their new uh two-way guy uh and Blake Henson who I think may actually end up it’s possible he might be good enough to where the Lakers go man we got to get this guy some minutes right so like when he gets to play he’s 68 his versatility right you could slot him at the four play Jeremy Grant at the three uh and now you got two 40 plus% three-point Shooters I don’t I don’t want to lose V personally I’d like I would love to have V be the backup to Jeremy Grant but I also understand that Portland they don’t really have a need for d’angel Russell so the Lakers would have to find a third team which makes things incredibly difficult although the Brooklyn Nets they want DLo but to me if you could trade Jared vanderbelt and ruy aaura and go get Jeremy Grant and then use d’angel Russell and you know whatever Gabe Vincent ideally but let’s say Jared vanderbelt and like Jaylen Hino or something and go get like a cam Johnson now you have both cam Johnson and Jeremy Grant now we’re talking now we’re cooking because now at that point you got two legit sizable three and D guys that can both put the ball on the deck get you 15 to 20 a game right you could slot them and kind of play like that positionist basketball where you know Reeves is kind of like the point right you have uh you know like Johnson or Grant at the two and then the other at the three LeBron at the four and then 80 at the five or you could have like LeBron at the point like again just for paper sake where it’s like LeBron’s at the point Reeves is at the two and then you know Grant at the four uh to Johnson at the three and then 0 at the five right like and and then you just have the size versatility switchability you got multiple guys that crash the glass rebound the the you know uh motion offense that JJ wck wants to run you’re in good shape right like the Lakers would be very good at that point it’ be very tough to beat at that point um because now you have again two guys that you know they can defend a Tatum and a brown and do it effectively they could defend a Kyrie and a Luca and put some size on both of them and and just make things difficult right so I I I’m not against trading Jared Vanderbilt if you can get guys that make sense right because if you get Jeremy Grant Jared Vanderbilt’s likely not playing as much he’s going to kind of just be a spot and Specialty guy and you look at it like you have other guys that you know not on the defensive side but other guys that you might want to get a little more action and burn for to kind of grow and develop because the Lakers are trying to kind of kill two birds of one stone right they want to they want to win and be competitive but they also want to you know develop guys and build guys and stuff and how do you do that unless you get them actual playing time so if the Lakers did lose Jared vanderbelt as much as it would hurt right because we’re all kind of fans of Jared vanderbelt if you can get a clear upgrade and in a piece that makes sense now and Jeremy Grant yes I understand he’s 30 but you know he’s probably you got him at least another like four five years so you know Jared vanderbelt at that point he’s probably gone right because he’s probably going to go to a team that he gets better opportunity before at that point so to me I like the idea of going and getting Jeremy Grant the idea of LeBron James Jeremy Grant and Anthony Davis as your as your sort of front Court I think is very good very versatile and gives you a little bit of everything right you got defense you got rebounding you got shooting you got playmaking you got multiple guys that could put the ball on the deck right Jeremy Grant isn’t that like third Superstar but he is that like you know Star level player that go get you 20 and defend and hit shots and do all those things so again he he’s definitely valuable no like you I’ve had some people you know I’ve seen comments when I’ve talked about Jeremy Grant in the past where people are like you know like oh you’re delusional like Laker fans always want to get guys cheaper like no we’re not I’m not asking to get Jeremy Grant cheap not ask if I was asking for Jeremy Grant to be cheap it would be you know Gabe Vincent and and deangel Russell plus three seconds no I’m yes you you give up a he’s worth a first he’s worth you know a couple good key players like ruy would be good for them and he’s a valuable piece you could get some assets for right like Jared vanderbok gives you a young defensive guy and one of the best in the league he has value there’s plenty of teams that love Jared vanderbelt but you’re talking ruy Vando twer like it’s it’s Overkill right especially when you’re you’re seeing the price that some of these guys go I’m not talking about Mel Bridges that’s just a a team in the Knicks that was just time and place just like the Rudy go bear trade right and then you saw like dejonte Murray go and the price that he went for and it was like Pennies on the dollar compared to like what the Lakers had to give up this is a clear like hey Portland’s never traded with the Lakers let so if we’re going to trade we’re going to make it count type thing just like the Nets and the Knicks hadn’t done that right and it’s like well how do you get the Nets to trade with the Knicks oh well you you give up three more first round picks than you should have right like that’s that’s the way you do it and so to me it’s like if you can get him like if you told me it’s ruy Vando in a first and we got Jeremy Grant I’m okay with that again it would suck I’m a little like ah you know I like V I like ruy a lot but again you kind of get both of their skill sets combined with Jeremy Grant and especially if he’s locked and engaged he’s a guy that and he has experience right I mean he was in the conf he was on the Conference Finals team uh you know in 2020 when the Lakers won right so he’s familiar playing against the Lakers he’s familiar playing against Denver he’s a guy that again was a big factor and big piece for that team um and was very good for them right and I think that he could be that for us so just it’s going to be interesting to see how it plays out but uh the Lakers that Jeremy Grant’s the name that keeps coming up over and over and over again right but we’ve seen that like with Deonte Murray jonay Murray was the name that kept coming up over and over and over and over again and there are a few other teams that are interested in Jeremy Grant so it’s kind of one of those things is like you know is the Lakers going to have to overpay in order to get a guy like this because other teams are involved if that’s the case I think the Lakers shouldn’t do it right if you have to give up two first to get Jeremy Grant let somebody else do it right or let Portland get to the point where they’re just like all right fine you know like that price comes down price probably won’t be that come the trade deadline especially Portland’s winning games that they’re not trying to win right like a lot can change but anyway as always this is a discussion pass question on you let me know your thoughts and opinions down in the comments below what do you think how do you feel what are your thoughts do you like the idea of Jeremy Grant do you think no stay away from jery Grant do you think depends on the price I have a feel whatever your thoughts are let me know down in the comments below that being said if you haven’t likeed this video Lakers are going hard for a Jerami Grant trade and based on Lakers News appears to the the number 1 target. Portland Trailblazers Jerami Grant would be a perfect fit alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis but currently the cost is insanely high for Lakers Nation.

Still not enough to win a ring
How tho
Please yes !
I wouldn't wanna include Vando. And would Grant buy in, with the not-wanting-to-be-a-third-fiddle narrative, and all. They could try to sell him on having lotsa minutes as LBJ & AD3 gonna need load managing…
What if we trade Rui and 1st rounder plus 2nd and Jalen Hood Schifino, then Reeves and 2nd for Gary Trent Jr , I like the idea of adding those two for that price or around that price
At this point… The Lakers are going after the janitor at the local YMCA 😂
It's not happening you can let the Grant trade go!
No! I hope the Lakers are smart enough to realize he’s not with that much!
You dam laker idiots are crazy. You keep the defense. Vando? Stop this choke hold on reeves. Ad, lbj, vando, grant, and dlow! Is a line up. Get Reeves out of here!
You laker heads are really on crack! Do you think these all pros are gonna sit, while Reeves start, lol reeves at the point. U keep trying to get this bum a free ride. Why would you trade 2 players and a draft pick to get a guy to do Austin job. Then keep him! Straight dumb!
Not happening…He already said he didn’t want to play for Lakers when he was free agent
Stop trying to trade everyone but Reeves, y’all rather the team fall apart than see that clown gone
Realistically the lakers can trade dlo and reddish and 2 first round picks for Colin sexton and walker Kessler. Then the lakers can trade rui gabe and a first round pick a pick swap and a second round pick for jeremi grant. This is the lakers going all in. New lakers rotation
Pg- colin sexton
Sg- max Christie
Sf- jeremi grant
Pf- Lebron james
C- Anthony Davis
Bench
G- austin reaves
Sg- dalton knect
Sf- jarred Vanderbilt
Pf- Christian wood
C- walker Kessler
Let me guess. They offered DLo Rui and Gabe. No one wants these guys, that’s why no trades happen.
Grant won’t change shit, been a fan for 20+ years we need to start over, a 30+ player in decline ain’t gone help no disrespect but come on y’all is this what it’s come too bruh this shit trash! 🗑️ 1st or second round exit for sure smh
Just get someone already.
The Question is….IS Grant worth 2 1st round picks? This is what Portland wants.
if we give up vando, dlo and Rui we def need to get a center back from them. Robert WIlliams III or Ayton
The main reason Grant has not rush to be traded from Portland is because he’s home. He was born and raised in Portland lol. He’s on a good contract for himself. He doesn’t mind staying home.
Derosan ? Let him go! The guy,
Is not going to play for less.
As a Blazers fan, I could've seen them wanting Rui last year, but not anymore. He doesn't fit with the direction the Blazers seem to be going with their recent roster additions this off-season. Anybody the Lakers would be willing to give the Blazers would be coming off Blazers bench. Lakers have only one player I can see the Blazers actually wanting but he'd still likely come off the bench is Max Christie. A trade that immediately benefits both teams would be Rui Hachimura, Max Christie, Gabe Vincent, two 1st rd picks and 1-2 2nd rd pick for Jermi Grant, Matisse Thybulle and Kris Murray. This is for salaries to match and make the money work in the trade. Keep in mind Blazers would NOT even want anybody aside from Christie or maybe Vanderbilt (Vando is too offensively challeged imo). And Lakers need Grant's scoring and the also need Thybulle's perimeter defense and effort, plus Thybulle is can at least make open 3's and he's currently a better fit than Christie, he will just do his job and also help keep the locker room happy and easy going because that's just the type of person he is.
The only solution I can think of if they are gonna run it back with Rui and Vando is that, one should be at the bench when the other is playing. For example, if they're going for D'lo, AR backcourt then it is better to start Vando with them, but if they want to go with Rui then AR should be benched to give way for someone like Max Christie who, although not as good as Vando, can still defend wings and shifty guards, and can shoot. It's just a matter of mix and match ,and balance things out. Rui can be the back up PF for Lebron and just make Wood your back up C for AD then get a physical big that you can put in whenever you need it.
No chance.
Another rumor that we have yet to see 😂. This off season was such a bust. Everyone we signed had no other options 😅
