interest in trying to add Carl Anthony towns to this roster now I don’t know about you guys but for me Carl Anthony towns is the one player I do not want the Knicks to go after he gets paid like a superstar but he never performs like one especially when the lights are on brightest and if the Knicks have to deal and make a trade for Carl Anthony towns that means the Knicks core players of OG an anobi Julius Randall Jaylen Brunson and Mel Bridges will no longer be there in order to make that trade work you’re gonna have to sacrifice one of your core pieces the likelihood is you’re going to have to trade Julius Randall and in any deal for Carl Anthony towns let’s break down these latest reports from CP the franchise so you can see exactly what he stated about the Knicks and their interest in Carl Anthony towns according to CP he States the Knicks may not be done dealing the Knicks remain interested in a Carl Anthony towns trade and again this is coming from CP the franchise of Nicks fan TV if you’re asking me I absolutely believe this report number one see P has been in this game for a very long time he is well connected he wouldn’t say these things just to say them the fact that he’s saying them means that a source that he’s well connected to is telling him this information so I absolutely believe it whether or not it happens or not that’s anybody’s guess however in terms of the report I definitely believe that it’s true and accurate but let’s continue shout out to New York basketball on the app X for giving us the following comments from CP the franchise this is what he stated about the Knicks and their interest in towns according to CP the Knicks want towns they see what Boston can do with the true five and out system we have to monitor the situation with Julius randle’s extension not necessarily advocating for it just telling you the interest is real the unfortunate part for the Knicks is the interest with Carl Anthony towns has always been there and it’s always been real you can go back to the time that Leon Rose took over of President of basketball operations for the Knicks as soon as that happened reports at that point in time kept flying out indicating that potentially the Knicks were going to trade for Carl Anthony towns for a number of reasons but one of the main reasons was because of his relationship to Leon Rose given that it’s no wonder to hear right now that the Knicks still have real interest in trying to trade for Carl Anthony towns when you look at their Center position and you see they only have Mitchell Robin and Jericho Sims yes it gets you a little bit scared because if Mitchell Robinson goes down and you only have to rely on Jericho Sims what type of Knicks team are we going to have at that point in time regardless of all the talent that we have on it that’s something we’re going to have to ask ourselves and by the way even if you make a trade for towns and the Knicks are able to pull this off towns cannot be your five yes he can play five but he should never be the five if anything he should probably be your four however this brings up a very good question if the Knicks actually make a trade for Carl Anthony towns number one at this point in time after the Mel Bridges deal can they still pull off a trade for Carl Anthony towns and if so who’s likely going to be the players going out in that deal for the Knicks well thanks to Jeremy Cohen of Nicks film school he gives us the following information on how the Knicks could make a Carl Anthony Town’s trade work at this point in time according to Cohen one player who you are in the ballpark for with the Randall plus Mitch plus a Chua which is a sign in trade is that you could get Carl Anthony towns with that money CP mentioned cat’s name today during an episode and again you have to move Randall and Mitch to get into this territory precious helps you get there and of course the CBA creates Havoc that’s why you need a chewer if you get Randall Mitchell Robinson and a Chua and you get them all in a trade you can definitely make the money work dollar for dooll to get Carl Anthony towns on the Knicks and you can make this trade happen however something that doesn’t seem to be asked enough if the Knicks presented this deal to the Minnesota Timberwolves would they say yes is this the roster that mini wants to go forward with because in my opinion if you look at what Minnesota did last year how close they got to the NBA finals wouldn’t it make more sense to double down on that roster yes I know it’s expensive yes I know it’s going to set them into the second apron yes I know no team really wants to be there because it limits what you can do as a franchise I understand all the bad that comes with the second apron but I also understand that if your fan base in Minnesota sees you abandoned a team that got you nearly to the NBA finals I don’t know how they’re going to react to that towns is not the player you need to move forward with he gets paid a lot of money and doesn’t do the things a superstar needs to do however for the Minnesota Timberwolves he fits he fits with that Squad and if they continue with that Squad who knows what could happen the only thing we know at this point in time is that New York clearly is looking to make another move they have a need at the center position they need depth at the center if they went ahead and made this trade for Julius Randall Mitchell Robinson and prua they would be getting Carl Anthony towns but they would still have an issue at Center depth they would still need to add more centers likely need another power forward unless Carl Anthony towns is going to be your power forward because if that’s the case then you’re definitely going to need a starting five You’ve Lost That so not only did you lose your starting five in this position but you still need a backup center so you still have to make moves even after you add Carl Anthony towns that’s why I feel the Knicks will not do this move I hope and pray the Knicks do not trade for Carl Anthony towns in my opinion Trading Julius Randall who is a better fit and a better player for this Knicks team than Carl Anthony towns is is a failure of a trade the Knicks do not get better after this trade is made we get worse our chemistry gets worse our team in general gets worse and we have to somehow figure out how to compete with that roster I understand Carl Anthony towns one of the best Shooters in terms of a big man that we’ve ever seen he definitely has an impact and he will help the Knicks but in my opinion in all the ways he could help the Knicks there are a lot of ways he could hurt the Knicks as well too number one when the lights are on brightest especially in the playoffs he doesn’t show up and if you want to point to a similarity with Julius Randle one of the main reasons fans don’t like Randall is because quote unquote he doesn’t show up during the postseason what do you think is going to happen with Carl Anthony towns he does not show up during the postseason do you need evidence of this look at what happened this past season this past year when they were in the Western Conference Finals what happened during that game oh yeah Carl Anthony towns tried to shoot the three and struggled and struggled and struggled I think his average for that entire Series against Dallas was around 30% one of the best big men in the entire league at shooting the three and his percentage when it counted the most when it mattered the most was below subpar and that’s the player we should add that’s the player that needs to be on this roster that’s the player that’s going to be the final piece to help us get over the hump no never right now with the team that we have currently this is the best version of the Knicks I have ever seen and the Knicks are still not done yet they’re still looking to make another move for me that other move needs to be getting a starting center and then having Mitchell Robinson continue to play back up to that starting center if the Knicks are able to do that they will be one of the best teams in the league if they’re not that way already and they will definitely be locked in to go all the way to the NBA finals this is how much that Center position matters for the Knicks at this point in time for me it’s one obvious choice Walker Kessler the Knicks need to do everything in their power to try to get him on this roster but if they can’t do that I’m okay with Nick Richards I’m even okay with precious atua what I’m not okay with what I’ll never be okay with and who I don’t ever want to see Dawn that orange and blue is Carl Anthony towns gets paid like a superstar but never shows up like one I’m good I don’t need him on the Knicks I don’t need him in New York I don’t need anywhere near this organization you can keep that relationship and put it to the side no thanks at all cat much respect to you your game what you’ve done in this league but I don’t want you anywhere near the Knicks or anywhere in New York you would destroy us you would make us worse stay away stay far far away we are good we’re more than good right now even with our issues at the center position I still think we have a Knicks team that can go all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals and go toe-to-toe with the Boston Celtics we cannot say the same thing if towns is on this team I don’t care if Boston has KP cat is not the answer to KP and definitely not the answer for this Knicks team no thank you at all by cat I’m good stay with Minnesota but what
