Atlanta will most likely push back Bruno Fernando’s contract decision deadline once again. This could mean they are still not sure if they take him over Zeller, or maybe there are still more moves to come including dealing at least one of our Centers.

What this shows is that they are most likely still deciding on what they want to do at the Center position. It seems that at least one of the Centers currently on the roster will go. It could be a Capela trade that has been talked about a lot, a salary dump of Nance Jr. or Zeller, or maybe just parting ways with Bruno.

If we start a game next year with Zeller at center I’m out.

UPDATE: Bruno’s contract guarantee date has officially been moved to Aug.1st.

  4. I really hope we’re not stringing Bruno along all summer only to dump him at the end because Zeller’s $3m is guaranteed and we have to pay that anyway.

I genuinely don’t think we can live with OO at center for most of the season without a large big like capela or zeller backing him up to help. I like Bruno but I don’t care who our 3rd string is. If we trade capela it needs to he for another center and I just don’t see how we can upgrade with him

Let’s be real, Bruno is a meme center

Taking on Cody was the tax we had to pay to get the DJ deal done in the new league year. If the FO can get rid of him w/out eating too much shit to do it (eg, attaching a second), they’ll do it b/c they’d almost certainly rather have Bruno… but they probably don’t want Bruno so much they are willing to take the cap hit to stretch Cody and keep Bruno.

For Cap, I think the Siegel reporting was weirdly written and made it seem like we didn’t trade for BI because we wanted to hang onto Cap, that’s almost definitely wrong, we just didn’t want BI. I think the FO wants to trade Cap but will only trade him for value but doesn’t want any bad money on the books. Probably rather have him on the roster and either trade him at the DL or let him expire/extend than trade him for bad money or nothing.

So I’m guessing they are trying to move Zeller and Cap, but there might just be no market.

Ngl I’d rather have Zeller than Bruno

Wtf is Cody Zeller still doing in the league

  10. Unless they can find another sucker to take Zeller, cutting him (or Liddell) counts against the cap. Does Ressler pay Zeller off to sign a 3rd string center? Neither is going to move the needle on team success this season, no matter how much I love Bruno as a bench, locker room, and 3rd Center guy.
