Taylor Hendricks Discusses Impressions of Utah Jazz 2024 Draft Class & Preparation for Summer League

[Music] uh it’s been great um went back home for a little bit uh went on vacation right after this season but just pretty much been in the gym good what uh what parts of your game are you kind of focusing on most over the last couple months uh pretty much all around um I made an emphasis on you know trying to get my ball handling better and uh really just working on my physic it being aggressive um offensively and defensively what are you hoping to kind of showcase over the next couple weeks um my mindset is just to compete you know um get after it every possession every game um just play my hardest and you know win of course clearly physically you look different do you feel different on the court just the way you can move we can absorb contact kind of play through it right now no definitely I definitely feel a lot stronger um you know that that’s also a thing I wanted to work on this summer and you know I just been doing that what have you noticed about the three new guys uh I mean I love those guys I mean they’re they’re great dudes um you know obviously things are moving a little bit too like fast for them right now which is normal but you know uh just me key and Bryce you know we were just there last year so just talking to them and you know just nursing them through the through through this summer league thing right now what are some of the things that you can like help them through after going through it last year um I’ll give an example just Cody I was just talking to him yesterday and um just telling him areas he can find his shot you know we kind of play a similar position so um I was just telling them like you know um you know I was just where you were so just you know um get what you get off of defense and uh just try to make energy plays and then you know your teammates will trust you and then you can build off of that talking to Sean Sheldon and he kind of said both you and Cody have the bodies that you guys can be elite Defenders with the way you move how long you are do you think that’s true first of all and what is the pathway for you to become that Elite Defender when you have to impr uh yeah I definitely think that’s true um you know me and Cody both are you know very versatile you know we we’re very quick on our feed very long and um I’ll say for me to uh to um you know elevate my game is just continue to get stronger just be more physical um on the ball there so many Jazz guys on this summer league roster how will this kind of help you as a team kind of lead into the season uh it’s great for us you know it builds chemistry you know um a lot of us are going to be on a team next year so uh that’s that’s really what it does just builds chemistry is there excitement for you your first summer league yeah definitely and um I really wanted to play last year so me being able to do it this year is is going to be fun it’s not lost on you that this this summer league roster for the jazz is pretty stacked compared to some other summer league rosters right nah I mean we look crazy like from from top to bottom it’s crazy you know it’s going to be it’s going to be very fun to watch for sure how much of a different role are you playing here in Summer League versus what you play uh during the regular season with the Jazz um I would say it’s pretty similar um just being that guy to guard the best player and uh just try to be off um aggressive offensively um and Tavon keny just signed a two-way contract with the Jazz uh you played a lot of minutes with him with the Stars can you just talk about the type of player that he is uh I would say he earned it 100% you know um I would always see him in the gym getting up extra work um you know he goes hard every possession um so you know if there was a guy to get it it would be him for sure than thank you [Music] oh
