what is going on Nix FZ welcome back to NX media my name is Richie and today we got the Nick summer league roster officially it’s finally here folks and I’m excited to break it down some players to watch heading into the niick summer league I love summer league every single year it’s an opportunity to see players that are trying to make their way in the NBA also of course we get to see the rookies and year two players in the summer league for the New York Knicks we got a whole draft class coming in four rookies that Nicks brought in in the 2024 NBA draft and we got Raz yaku Bay is coming in who I’m excited to see back in action for the Nick summer league and of course other players I’ll be highlighting in this video If you guys notice somebody on the roster that you feel like the like button if you do not already and subscribe to Nicks media let’s get straight into business let’s first talk about the 2024 rookie class we got all four of them now I’m not too sure about Kevin mcculler Jr maybe you guys can actually let me know in the comments in terms of his injury I know that he was dealing with the knee problem which held him out of the tournament uh so I’m curious if he’s going to be 100% healthy ready to go but I hope so because Kevin mcer Jr made a whole video on him here on Nicks media how he is literally another version of Josh Hart potentially so I’m definitely excited to see him go out there if he is 100% healthy Pome daddy a of course the next first round pick from France the 18-year-old 6’8 6′ now wing that could put the ball on the floor step back contested shots he reminds me of a Michael Porter Jr that’s my player comparison for him he’s raw someone that we can be hopeful that could develop into something in the long run and a little reminder about Pome dadd he took a discount in terms of his contract with the New York Knicks which is something that you rarely see the Knicks bought out his contract overseas and he is with the New York Knicks officially he’s going to be on the Knicks roster and then Tyler KCK the New York Knicks gave him the largest NBA contract in history for a second round pick you could tell that the Knicks are very high on Tyler KCK a lot of people thought the Knicks would be drafting him in the first round but he fell into the second round and the Knicks were aggressive enough to trade up for him at pick number 34 I think this is a really good opportunity to see who Tyler KCK is because based off all the hype and based off all the film and the homework and the study and the Deep dive I’ve done on Tyler kic I feel like Nicks fans are going to fall in love with this kid when he starts playing ball and representing the New York Knicks in the summer league and I feel like summer league is obviously an opportunity to see what these guys play like and I know a lot of Knicks fans have PTSD from Kevin Knox I mean he went out there in the summer league and made us all feel like we just got the next version of Kevin Durant or something like that he dominated the summer league and we all know Kevin Knox turned into being a bust so definitely we can’t take these summer league performances and expect a player to break out in the summer league and now he’s guaranteed star but it is a good opportunity to see what the rookies and the other guys look like on the Knicks roster Ariel hooky the final pick for the New York Knicks the final pick in the NBA draft as well he officially signed a two-way contract for the Knicks so he’s going to be on a two-way contract with Jacob toppen I feel like this player is someone that a lot of Knicks fans are going to be really keeping their eye on because of the obvious depth that we do not have at the center position we just got Mitchell Robinson Jericho s and npy as our three centers we’re waiting to see if the Knicks make a move for another Center in free agency or a trade we shall see if Leon Rose got another move up his sleeve I kind of wish Jericho Sims was playing in this I mean usually it’s just year one and year two players a year four player like Jericho you don’t usually play in the summer league but I feel like Jericho still it a raw I wish he was out there but hey not going to complain uh another player that a lot of Nicks fans are excited to see back is rokas yaku bides this is a player that Nicks drafted a few years ago and they stashed him overseas and now he is is going to come on here and I feel like rocas and Tyler Kik and the back hord handling the show is going to be a lot of fun they both have very similar games they can be able to handle the ball efficiently they can shoot the ball well from downtown they can get their teammates involved so I feel like a dynamic onew punch of a Ras and italic is going to be a lot of fun I was hopeful that Ras was going to be on this Knicks roster for the summer league and now it is 100% official Ras will be with this Knicks team when the summer league kicks off on Saturday and then of course talking about Jacob toppen the Knicks brought him in last year as an undrafted free agent and he officially resigned with the Knicks for a two-way contract I believe so he’s going to be on this Knicks team you can see him flirting between you know going back between Westchester and being on the Knicks bench don’t really expect Jacob toppin to get any minutes for the Knicks in terms of real minutes this season but definitely curious to see how he develops in the long run especially in the summer league I mean if you’re a guy like Jacob toppen and you have any potential to make an impact in the NBA like Obi toppen has done for the Indiana Pacers being a good role player this is the time to kind of prove yourself in the summer league can he show that he could be a dynamic guy that can run the floor be that athletic power forward that can go out there get those alley yous make you create your own shot and maybe even hit the hit the shots from downtown and more importantly play defense because that’s what the Knicks culture wants to see so I’m very curious to see what Jacob toppen looks like because the Knicks are very high on Jacob toppen otherwise they would not have him on this Knicks roster still on a two-way deal some other guys on the Knicks roster to keep an eye on is Sam Kell okay this guy played in a the Bal the African league and this is a player that a lot of hype is around and the thing I learned doing my research on it he he played with Z zy Wade Dwayne Wade’s son over in the African league and Dwayne Wade was very Blown Away by him he’s a 26y old player he was named to the all uh first team for the balal and he has a lot of up upside and I read an article that he when he got the call from the Knicks to join the summer league he it was like a dream come true for him that’s another reason why I love the summer league you get opportunities for these young players that are trying to make their names in the NBA and maybe he can sign to a g-league team and make his way onto an NBA roster you never know so watch out for Sam Kell he’s a guy that could put the ball on the floor hit shots from downtown hit some mid-range jumper he’s very athletic I’m excited to see if he has any type of upside and show what he can show because this is a dream come true for him a professional player in Africa is now coming to play in the summer league of the NBA that’s awesome to see I’m excited to see what Sam Kell can do another guy is Dwayne Washington Jr he was on the Knicks for a two-way contract this past season he’s 24 years old he played for the Westchester Knicks he’s a guard not really expecting much from him but he’s kind of the Season veteran of this bunch I would say not really in terms of like he’s not old he’s 24 years old but I feel like he has the most experience in the G League he’s played in the summer league before I kind of know what to expect from Dwayne Washington he was on the Knicks this past season coming off the bench when you know the Knicks were either blowing out teams and we need to bring in the guys that don’t play or we were getting blown out he was the guy on the court so curious to see what Dwayne Washington looks like another guy is Justin Lewis a very athletic Wing he played for the summer league team for the Chicago Bulls last season and showed a lot of Promise he’s going to be that guy that’s going to be making a lot of dunks okay Justin Lewis is going to be attacking the paint he’s going to be having the Highlight Reel Tomahawk dunks I think it’s going to be him and Jacob toppin stealing the show in terms of dunking the ball and showing some having some fun in summer league and that’s what summer league is all about go out there play free have some some fun get some chemistry and really try to make your mark in the NBA but the obvious is the highlight of the Knicks summer league roster is the four Nicks rookies that we just brought in and Ras yakutis and
