DeMar DeRozan CHANGES EVERYTHING For The Sacramento Kings…

all right boys welcome back to another video swagy here today we’re going to be breaking down the deardo roseen signning trade to the Sacramento Kings a lot of people have made the assumption that okay this move makes the Kings better but it doesn’t exactly push them over the top and to me I disagree you have to remember that the Kings won 46 games last year the final month of the season they were missing Kevin herder they were also missing Malik monk Daren Fox for what 20 to 25 games in the middle of the season was dealing with an injury I thought Damonte sabonis overall had a good season should have been an All-Star had an all NBA type of year you add in D R roen Who yeah is a little bit on the older side in his mid-30s but he hasn’t shown any signs of regression D rozan still an elite scorer he’s still the best clutch scorer in basketball he can rebound he can pass and he’s highly efficient you add him in as a number three option on a team again with Fox and sabonis that brought back Malik Monk that went out there and drafted Devin Carter one of the best two-way guards in all of the draft a guy who in his Junior season this past one shot 47% from the field and 38 from three but overall yeah the kings are going to be in a great spot because the West is so deep which means that anyone can win it just as much as anyone can lose it right now it’s so easy to point at the Thunder to point at the Timberwolves the nuggets the Mavericks and say that these are the best teams and I’d agree with you but that doesn’t mean that there is isn’t another team out there like even the Lakers the Warriors the kings that can beat them so in order to win a championship you have to give yourself a chance to win a championship and the Kings by getting Demar D rozan at the bare minimum gave them themselves a chance to do that something that doesn’t get talked about enough is that the Kings they played playoff teams extremely well they swept the Lakers in four meetings finished 3-1 against the Denver Nuggets 2-1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves and LA Clippers and Phoenix Sun the issue for the Kings is that they ended up losing all six games against the Pelicans that was an absolute matchup nightmare for them because they couldn’t handle the Pelicans length and size but they play the other teams well so you add into Rosen now and you’re going to be even better against those top dogs the thing is though is those teams I just named all got better so if the Kings hadn’t gotten better then they would have been in serious trouble but they did get better so now they’re essentially right back to where they were they just have to be able to stay healthy and consistent I think the Kings right now are a Darkhorse NBA championship Contender I we keep talking about the same teams but we fail to realize that the West is wide open there’s not one team that’s better than everyone else the last six teams to win the championship were all different right we just don’t see a lot of the same teams go back to the finals like I don’t see the Kings as a playing team right I don’t see the Kings on the same level as the Lakers or the Warriors or the Rockets I see them on the same level as these teams that are going to be in that four to six type of range let’s just put it that way I think the kings are going to be there I mean I’m excited if I’m cas I can’t even I’m not even a Kings fan and I’m excited I can’t even hold it in D rozan in this role of a scorer versus where the Bulls they had him do everything and he needed to be a star passing scoring rebounding and the clutch of course was the guy you know Darren Fox is one of the most clutch scorers in basketball so yeah now it’s just going to be a lot easier of a load for D rozan he’s going to have guys around him that can make plays he’s got an all NBA player in Damonte sabonis and then dearen Fox is a guy who legitimately has Superstar potential if you look at the first 24 games Fox averaged 30 points six assists five rebounds two Steals on 40% from three that’s a 9 threo attempts as well if Fox continues that legit he’s going to be one of the best players top 10 players in basketball the issue is the middle of the Season Fox was playing there a shoulder injury he ended up dropping to 34% from three and seven attempts 24 points so his points went down by six from an efficiency standpoint the Kings definitely took a hit and that’s a large reason why they did not make the playoffs Kevin herder struggled Keegan Murray I thought did a lot better than the previous couple of Seasons but he also his just shooting and his efficiency took a depth he became a better mid-range shooter he got better at finishing around the rim it wasn’t like it was a bad season but it’s just overall these shooters for the Kings weren’t shooting and Kyle kman has been linked to them even after der rozan but Kyle kma in his own right is poor poorly efficient shooter so where we need to begin is D rozan is coming off of his best allaround season in Chicago 24 points per game five assists four rebounds 48% from the field 85% from the free throw line D rozan tied for fifth with Jimmy Butler in free throw attempts and he led the NBA in minutes which is just absurd at 34 years old 79 games 37.8 minutes per game a total minutes of 2, 989 he’s the first what 36 3 how old is Rosen 36 I don’t remember how Zach old he is but he’s the first player that old to lead the league in minutes since LeBron in 2018 which is awesome and of course he’s played in 229 games with the bulls 93% of his team’s contest over the three seasons he was there so he’s extremely durable he led the league last season in fourth quarter in overtime scoring his overall closing abil helped the Bulls lead the NBA in clutch victories the Bulls started the season 5 and 14 they ended up finishing the season 34 and 29 in large part because the rosen’s ability down the stretch of games to be able to score the Rosen scoring dipped slightly from the previous season but his assist increased he posted the second highest volume of three-point attempts of his career D rozan took 2.8 attempts on 33.3% which is enough to keep defenses on CU you have to realize that the rosen’s bread and butter is attacking the basket and in the mid-range so if you can at least have the defense have to come up and get a hand on you which is what they have to do you’re not giving Demar d rozan a wide open three-pointer because he will take it and he’ll make about 33% of them so that’s going to be enough to me to have faith in this working out with Fox and sabonis and herder and Mon and Keegan Murray who I’m extremely high on I haven’t mentioned his name yet in the video lot to talk about I think the kings are a very underrated team if things had gone their way then they would have made a threat to the Western Conference but they didn’t because the things didn’t go their way and usually a team that goes to the finals wins a championship is the team that stays the healthiest and even has some luck on their side I think the Mavericks overall I mean I wouldn’t say they had luck on their side Luka and Kyrie were just brilliant but a lot of it came down to facing the Clippers in round one a lot of it came down to going up against a young Thunder team and then of course they went up against the Timberwolves in the Wester Conference Finals and you know credit to Dallas and their defense because that’s ultimately what got the Mavericks to the championship they became an elite defensive team after the deadline the kings in March were one of the top four defensive teams in the NBA so the Kings with their new strategy I think they’re going to be set off for a very good 2024 25 season it just comes down to filling out the rest of this roster they’ve been linked to Kyle kusma and a lot of it’s going to come down to consistency Darren Fox was not consistent Kevin herder was certainly not overall consistent and then Malik Monk’s a guy who I think can get even better I mean I get he was one of the best bench players in basketball but again I think he can get even better especially after signing that contract with the Kings this offseason so and Keegan Murray was not consistent as well he became a much worse shooter than he was in his rookie season a lot of that was because of course now he’s shooting more off the dribble before he was just a straight spot up shooter but you know it’s just just that’s the thing with the Kings is they have to fix a lot to be able to win a championship but I don’t think they’re that far off and even if you don’t think dear D rozan gets them over the top well what did they give up essentially it’s a pick Swap 2 seconds and Harrison Barnes for Damar D rozan I mean that’s incredible value the r rozan will make 76 million over three years what is I should know that at the top of my head but I’m an idiot what do you what is that 25.3 million right for Demar de rozan I think that’s fair value because we talked about how anything 20 to 25 million for the Rosen is going to be great value he’s going to even exceed that and he’s the third option on the king and also you can even argue that the rozan will even be the fourth option because Malik mon is a guy who’s going to get a lot of shots a lot of buckets and we know he can get hot in a hurry so
