NOTABLE Names From the Chicago Bulls Summer League Team

[Applause] what’s going on everybody it’s Bulls Nation Station back at it again with another one hopefully you guys are feeling pretty good today as I’m feeling pretty good myself and as you guys see with all the moves that’s being made you know we’re heading to a youth movement we’re heading to a a kind of a retool having the young players you know coming and a lot of the older players leaving as you guys just seeing Demar de Roan he just put out a a fairwell tribute on his Instagram page and so yeah we’re it’s official we’re in this movement you know more than likely you’re going to see Zack LaVine leave before it’s all s and done and so this is where we’re at and with us being in the youth movement you know one thing that’s important to look at right now is this upcoming summer leue because we have a few of our young guys participating in that and as you guys seen you know they have released a schedule for the upcoming summer league which is going to be next week and yeah we got to get ready and see what we can get out of that I know the summer league team has been announced they’ve been officially you know starting their practices the past couple days and so in this video I just want to talk about a few of the notable names that’s on the summer league team and yeah once again like this video if you’re Bulls fans subscribe to this page asz I’ll be covering a lot of this stuff throughout the summer but yeah so who’s some of these notable names that’s on the summer league team and the first guy I want to start off with is our rookie Matas buellis you know he is going to be the main eye for this summer league team just because he was our draft pick in his upcoming draft you know we selected him at number 11th and he’s a 19yearold from lith from Lithuania and he’s from the Chicago area so you know that’s cool to see I know a lot of you guys have been doing your research on my ti but you know he was from the G League T night he averaged 14 points six rebounds two assists and yeah I feel like this guy has a lot of potential we want to see how he is he’s face a lot of NBA competition you know he’s he’s not new to this and so I feel like he could do pretty well in summer league you know he has a lot of athletic capabilities one thing he needs to improve is his three-point shooting but he has the right to tools for it and he has to also get stronger and so how will Matas you know start off his NBA career in his summer league and will be willing to see you know one guy I always think of is Jason Tatum and how dominant he was in summer league even though he didn’t win MVP but it just carried over to his career and you could just tell in that summer league that Jason tayum was going to be really good and so that’s what I expect to see out Monas I want to see what he can do what he could provide what he could bring you know for the actual Chicago Bulls team and so shout out to Matas another guy I want to talk about is Julian Phillips you guys know Julian you know he was part of the team last year he was selected from Tennessee you know uh in the second round that’s a 35th overall pick and you know he only average two points but when he got in and got consistent minutes he actually showed something he showed his athleticism he was able to knock down to three at a better clip than what we thought he could shoot at you know the shot look smooth it look wet and it just seemed like knew where to be at the right times whether that was offense or defense you know he was in the right spots in the right places I definitely look to see him getting better as to as to getting stronger you know he had a foot injury that kind of shut him out for the rest of the season last year but yeah I want to see how healthy he looks can he be more of a offensive you know playmaker possibly cuz last year he was trickly just you know playing off of people and I want to see what he can do in this summer league so shout out to Julian Phillips he’s had some good videos of him training in the summer and yeah I’m definitely looking forward to him another guy that you guys know that is on his team is Henry drill now Henry drill he’s been in the Bulls system for a few years now he’s been on the Wendy City Bulls you know he averaged 15 points for Wendy City this past year and Henry Dr you know I feel like this is a make it break it kind of year with him to see where is he going to be you know he’s been in the summer league teams for the past two years you know he’s 24 years years old from Estonia and yeah he showed a couple things in those little scrap games towards the end of the season you know last year I’m thinking about that notable game against the Wizards so can he be a piece that can eventually carve his way into being the NBA player we’ll have to look and see but shout out to Henry Dr and another guy that I’m kind of very interested into seeing that’s on the team and that is um funk you know the guy Andrew Funk and Andrew funk you know the thing that’s interesting with him is that he has the type of tools he has the type of tools to be like a serviceable NBA player I mean he can shoot he has a strong clip you know coming from Penn State he was knocking that three down at a crazy rate you know he was showing what he could do he’s on the wiy city Bulls team now but the few opportunities he did get with the bulls to come in garbage time last year he didn’t do anything at all didn’t even score he didn’t even score a bucket and so can he figure something out can he figure out a way to be effective on the court can he figure out a way to bring that shooting that he’s known to have you know throughout his career and I definitely want to see how he fears because I really haven’t seen too much Andrew funk I hear about him but I haven’t really seen too much him play so I definitely want to see what he can do you know in this upcoming summer league and how many minutes he plays and the last guy you know it’s our big guy Adam asogo you know um he’s just signed on another two-way deal I feel like he’s going to have a bigger role this year even though he’s still on that two-way because it’s a younger team now it’s going to be times where you just need another true Big Body Center to come in and play when you have injuries or matchups or things like that and so maybe sonogo could play his way into earning a full-time NBA contract you know I feel like this summer league is going to be crucial for him also just because he was so dominant in the um in the G League you know making the all G League third team I feel like he’s going to farewell you know this year in this summer league he might even make a you know all summer league team and so we’re going to see he’s going to be one of the driving forces
