about he had a bon to pick with Scout but you were there what was going on okay so it sounded like okay they had a 08 uh duck B they had a 08 B right duck with their trophy Pierce came out Eddie house I think Cassell was on that because Cassell was on there I think Leon po Leon po that’s the other one members of the 15 or whatever right and know and you saw I mean you got the great interview with Ray Allen he went to game five like under on the D cool moment like he just I mean he was just like I didn’t see I was like d Ray was at the game like so but I think so what was it scal Paul Leon Eddie so five members of of the team and I guess they asked how would park was invited and he’s like well I don’t think he would be invited and and whatever and you know there’s tension now there’s some stuff because obviously the quote of him calling uh Missoula bird brain like kind of a bird brain that’s a tough quote right that was a it was a very critical quote I think it was a few months ago after they lost to Denver um at home it was like the home loss to Denver and he went in on Missoula okay so people didn’t forget yeah yeah so SC kind of threw in the atmosphere that there was some tension between perk and the organization and park is like hold up first of all keep my name out your mouth secondly like it’s not like I got invited or they invited the whole 08 team I don’t know how did it I’m sure if some members of of G if Garnett was like Hey I want to be on the duck boo they would have of course brought him on and I think with Pierce Pierce is in Boston a lot a lot more than Garnett or any of the 08 team house works for NBC Sports Boston I don’t I know he lives in Phoenix but I think house comes here a lot too scal of course and then Leon Paul works for organization so it’s easy so I don’t think there was some like 15 invites where Rondo and gab puit and um Scott par Scott PA got you know glad Scott par is doing well now he had some uh medical issues seems coming back so so uh Kudos shout out shout out to him yeah yeah uh to Scott P glad he’s doing doing a lot better um you know it was like there was a over 15 invites and perk was like oh we’re writing 14 but not not perk right it’s the way it’s the way he worded it though the way he Scout worded it as if like said I had a conversation with perk you know called me and we had a conversation the perk was just wasn’t happy that and he’s his whole thing is you know I respect the Celtics but one that was 24’s moment not 08 moment I respect that too to like I you know like he said I haven’t come to Boston on my own in years I come for for work or whatever like I’m not you know I’m a former Celtic and you know I love those guys but it’s not like I’m coming back every reunion and I’m I’m coming back here for work and I cover the league and I got to tell like it is so I respect perk for that and and scow he was upset that scow didn’t call him back with immediacy and scow was like well I’m a busy man and my bad and so you know let’s hope they can talk it out it’s kind of it’s Petty but you know you probably shouldn’t have S Scout might not have refrain from saying oh perks got issues with you know do I think Missoula was upset yeah like anybody would be upset being called a bird brain and anybody would be upset with something you know and but perk’s been hard on but I don’t know what team perk likes perk hard on everybody you know what I’m saying like like he’s the he’s he’s like you know Max we grew up he’s the dad that your father like none of his kids like it wasn’t like he don’t like him he don’t like me equal equally bad how it is perk keeps it real he said he said Anthony Davis might ask for a the deadline If he if it don’t work out with reic like perk drops it on the D he doesn’t care he’s made some probably some adversaries and lost some friendships because he’s had to keep it real and I respect that and he’s he’s been hard on the Celtics this year and he’s you know and he he suggested they might break up the Jays a couple years ago and you know but hey everybody a lot of people got proved wrong and I think perk is personally happy for those guys I think he like he he enjoyed his time in Boston was for any place he played he was in Boston for the longest he won a championship you know I think he had a couple of his kids in Boston so you know I think he’s um okay but he’s kind of like scal like first of all bro like why you why am I on like anybody talking about anybody call Rondo anybody call Ray like why is it just me and I’m the one that didn’t got disinvited like he said if I got invited I probably wouldn’t have come he got stuff to do he lives in Texas so he gonna come out here for one day to to raise the banner in an hour parade yes he would things that perk said and I mean we’ve all we look you and I broadcasters we’re all we always in some way people are tugging at you to say what you said might have been said differently when you when mean I remember the one of the lines I used it was when Kevin Garnett was out I happened to say that somebody was I was on TV and radio and the guy said do you think the subs can win when Kevin Garnett got hurt the year they won the check year after they won check I said no no it’s impossible yeah you said it’s impossible hell no do you think you think I got a call I got a call say you might want to you know try to ref well I was right backtrack backtrack right but in in a way that when you are when they perceive you as part of the organization because perk will lay his head on the fact that look in 08 we won the championship I was on the team that so so you you it’s kind of hard to say one way where you are saying look I was part of this organization I know how great it was but then on the other end to kind of be overly critical about a guy like Joe Missoula I can understand you said I don’t agree with what he did I’ve said that before maybe he might want to take somebody out or do this or do that but the bir brain thing that that would rub this organization the wrong way I mean people were upset when Grant Williams was in the back they were saying Grant Williams was celebrating with the ganization and people were pissed off at Grant for him to be there at the game they didn’t say nothing about Taco but well Grant to be there [Laughter] t that’s a good point though they both play for the squad yeah anybody say anything all all with Taco but they sure wied grant grant played with both teams so I can see that he had some a vested interest he had friends who were there and it just happened that his buddies for the Celtics W I’m sure he had to be happy about that matter of fact we had him on our podcast and uh we talked about who would win the championship he predicted this whole thing predicted you know kind of what would happen but uh you know let’s not be so naive to think that maybe there wasn’t something in there or where perk was that you know it’s different I I just believe that you know when you say something about a team it’s going to come back some way to haunt you I mean hell do you think Stephen A Smith is invited to any damn Celtic Paras or anything like that you know he he’s not being invited because some of the things he said about this organization right yeah that’s a good point I mean it’s a it’s a tricky spot man if you ask me I just feel like uh it’s one of those things where like like perk said it wasn’t an official invite list and he was not on it you know it’s one of those things where if you wanted to be on the the the the duckboat or if you want to be involved I’m sure people put their name in it let me this go ahead you said what if he wants to be if he wanted to be on the duck boat what would happen let me make sure he hear what he would have put his name in he would have put his name in there and would he have been on the duck boo I’m asking I’m asking you right now that I don’t know no no I’m asking you what do you think something probably would have said no okay right right but he was gonna put himself out there but but who scal to put make himself the the team ambassador to be like I don’t know if he would have been you know what I mean so I can see where perk stands saying like wait who are you to make that call you know I I don’t know SC scowl has a c blanch with this team in different areas that most people don’t and and I love Scout I’ve always said been his biggest admir in the fact that you have a guy who’s his career scoring or what he did for this team compared to where he’s at now in the organization and see him with the big three and he was the guy who was interviewing the uh players you know before they came out and got in the duckboats he’s made himself into a a commodity for this team so he has L he has um I guess luxuries that some of us might not have but if I’m the team I’d be thinking the same way look we don’t need you talking for us or even putting that out there yeah that’s what you don’t want we don’t we don’t need we don’t need no negativity after we just won the championship win the [ __ ] championship and just be cool about it was enough stuff with the te with all the stuff with Ray and kg and that got settled they good and let’s not bring it to where the difference between Park and Paul Paul does the Fox sports stuff but Paul is unapologetically a Celtic I mean the next day after they won he wore his Celtic stuff on the air Paul is down for Boston he is a Celtic park has felt like I gotta make a name for myself I didn’t have a great great career All-Star caliber career I won a championship I was a defensive big man for a decade or whatever I got to make my name keeping it real and I admire that because that’s what’s kept him on the air he doesn’t have he’s not he’s not making no friends he’s not going to turn around and say nice things just you know just because a guy likes him he’s gonna I’m sure he he had some issues with Kevin Durant some things about said about Kevin Durant he keeps it real he’s kept it real about the Celtics as I said he treats everybody the same he rips everybody so for him to be on do that with LeBron yeah I mean I I think I think that’s the one one the little soft part [Music] [Music]
