[Music] we are live what’s going on everybody and welcome to another episode of the Nicks recap podcast I’m your host Troy and you could be anywhere in the world this afternoon but you chose to be here with me and I really appreciate that because we have a lot of ncks content to cover the Knicks have been busy over the past few weeks who we thought were the Nicks trade targets they have changed a little bit last week we talked about Walker Kesler and of course we talked about the guy in Charlotte Nick Richards but now today those trade targets have changed just a little bit because now according to reports the Knicks are looking at Alfre sangon from Houston and of course Jaylen Duran from the Detroit Pistons if these guys are on the table and they are made available for a trade the Knicks are going to do whatever it takes to get one of those guys on the roster for a number of reasons but for one main one if they were on the Knicks they would be the starting center number one but they would be able to thrive Under head coach Tom thibo the only question is will the Knicks be able to actually get a move done and get that trade happening we’re going to break down all of those comments in a little bit but for right now I really want to start and talk about Jaylen Duran you got to remember the Knicks had the opportunity another guy the Mel Bridget story all over again right another guy that Knicks could have drafted but they didn’t well they did draft him but they traded him away but get this if they held on to him they probably would have had a starting center in him besides Mitchell Robinson he is athletic he can move without the ball with the ball his defense it’s okay I’m not saying it’s the best defense but under head coach Tom thibo his defense would get better not only that we got to remember pick and roll with Jaylen Brunson a lot of people want to pretend it doesn’t exist but not to my eyes I remember him running that with Isaiah hartenstein and to an extent I remember him running a pick and roll with precious atua if he could do it with those guys he can also do it with Duran and if he does it with him he’s big he’s athletic he can move across the court in lightning speed and if he’s rolling to the rim he’s near unstoppable that’s the type of Center I would want on this Knicks team he’s young as well too so he can still develop even though he’s not great defensively right now he’s still good on the boards and he can get better and according to these reports According to some NBA insiders there’s suggesting that the Knicks have Duran on their roster let’s go ahead and break down some of these reports for you guys today according to Mark Burman I know he’s a former New York po post excuse me he’s a former New York Post uh media uh cover and what he used to do was he used to cover the Knicks for so many years we had him on the show so for me I believe what he said and of course I take everything that anybody says with a little grain of salt but if Burman is saying it I do believe it to an extent because he is connected within the Knicks organization even though he’s retired he still has those connections and according to Mark Burman he states that Leon Rose is in the first row of the presser yesterday with Mel’s mother didn’t talk but he’s still cooking wants to make a big Center move after Philly’s two additions herd Houston senon has been on the radar even Detroit’s Jaylen Duran and that was before the Pistons signed Paul Reed so again that’s the first part of this now that’s one Insider stating this but we also had Fred Katz from the athletic also stating this on his podcast according to Fred Katz he States Detroit claims Paul Reed they are definitely taking calls on Isaiah Stewart but here’s the biggest part here and I think they’re more open to moving Jaylen Durant than you’d expect according to Steve ER heard from the Knicks that people at the time 2022 draft really like Duran Catz is wondering if that’s why Detroit is going after another big man so as you can clearly see here Detroit is making certain moves that making everybody in the NBA in including NBA insiders here NB Nick NBA insiders basically assuming and suggesting that potentially Duran or Isaiah Stewart could be available for a trade with Detroit senon I want to mention this clearly among all the people we’re going to talk about today in terms of centers there is no one in my opinion that has better Talent on the table than sangon senon is a beast if he came here he would be even better under head coach Tom thibo but the reason we can just stop right there is because I don’t think the Houston Rockets are just going to give him away number one and number two even if they wanted to trade him I don’t think the Knicks have the assets NE necessary to make that trade happen we got to remember as well even if the Knicks pulled off that trade he needs to get paid if he doesn’t get paid this year he needs to get paid next year he’s likely going to look for a Max contract do the Knicks have enough money on the table to afford him at a max deal let me answer that for you guys no they don’t they have the roster that they have right now in place they did it for a reason they’re hoping some of these guys dalen Brunson included were still waiting on extension news but if he takes a pay cut and other people on the Knicks also take a pay cut they’re doing so so they can keep this roster together and hopefully have it contend for a championship that’s the main goal there and that’s what the Knicks want to do but they also understand that their starting center position is weak and they need to upgrade it that’s why they’re looking at different centers so if sanon’s not on the table realistically for Detroit Jaylen Duran in my opinion he is available and he is a realistic Target for the Knicks but you got to understand the cost even though he’s realistic nobody’s blind here Detroit’s not blind you guys are not blind I’m certainly not blind that kid has talent whatever you want to say about his defense whatever you want to say about what he can do on the offensive end sometime he’s sloppy but still most of the time for Detroit I still think he does a pretty good job he still needs polishing in some areas but of course if you go under a head coach like Tom Tibido and you’re playing for a contender in the Knicks you are going to get better you’re going to get better because of the team you’re playing around that’s the team he needs to be around the Knicks if they’re able to get him he would likely be the starting center I don’t even think there’s a question between him and Mitchell Robinson you could talk about his defense but everything he would do on offense would likely be the person that Tom thibo goes with for that starting center role because he could learn the defense he’s still young and if he can give you good defense with the offense he already gives you the kid is just going to be Sensational I would hope that the Knicks can get this done but if we’re looking at Steph Bondi with the New York Post and what he recently reported he gave us the following information about Detroit and their feelings on trading Durant according to the New York Post they’ve stated a sign in trade with a third team could be the Knick’s only potential option for bringing Durant into the fold however according to the New York Post Detroit’s G Tran L I’m going to mess up this name so much let’s just talk about Detroit GM so I don’t have to say his name the Detroit GM basically stated he has his hands on considering the Pistons lack of depth at the position of Center so if you’re the Detroit Pistons GM and you’re looking at the entire roster you’re not going to likely trade Duran because if you trade Duran you’re going to have a lack of depth at that position them knowing this they’re not going to want to trade him away but if they’re going to trade him they’re going to want a lot of assets back the Knicks at this point do not have a lot of assets um left willing to give up excuse me they don’t have a lot of assets left at this point to give up in any deal remember we made that Mel Bridges deal we gave up a lot of Assets in that process it was a worth it deal in my opinion you needed to make that deal we are Championship contenders because of that deal but we also have to admit we’re now limited we can’t go out and make those really glamorous trades like for Jaylen Duran maybe like for a senon so the reason I think these names are on the table if you’re asking me is a smoke screen for who Danny a maybe also for the Charlotte Hornets because the Knicks have interest in Walker Kesler and Nick Richards that doesn’t stop just because they show interest in senon and Jaylen Duran all that means is just because you don’t want to deal your centers it doesn’t mean I can’t look elsewhere to get another Center to fill up that position for myself and I think that’s the message the Knicks are sending out right now especially to Utah because everybody knows I think it’s clear at this point the Knicks want Walker Kesler they want Kesler on this team that’s the preferred Center they want and if they can get him they would have gotten him already but Danny a according to reports wants at least one first round pick but did you hear the phrasing there at least one first round pick right the reason it sounds like that is because that’s the starting price at at least one and that one first round pick likely needs to be an early lottery pick a very quality pick if you don’t have those picks then you’re going to have to include multiple bad picks or late lottery picks and if you don’t have those and you’re only stuck with protected picks like the Knicks the ability to get Kesler is extremely Limited at this point in time am I still hoping for it of course do I still think it can happen of course I do because Leon Rose has pulled off magic before that’s why any player we’ve talked about whether it’s Duran whether it’s senon whether it’s going to be um Walker Kessler or Nick Richards whoever we’re talking about here I think that Leon Rose can get that deal done because he’s already showcased he can get anything done even if you think he can’t the only problem here is he is limited in what he can deal and that’s going to limit his options but the smoke screen here is definitely sangon and Duran not saying that the Knicks wouldn’t trade for Duran if he was available but like the New York Post just stated the GM of Detroit is not looking around to go ahead and trade him cuz if they did they would have lack at that they would have lack of depth at that position they’re not just going to go ahead and trade that away they rather probably trade Isaiah Stewart he’s going to start a contract very soon I think making around 15 million they would probably rather trade him try to get some assets back and let another team deal with him now if you’re the Knicks and he’s available and Isaiah Stewart you go after him as well to because the Knicks need somebody else right now and the options are limited we don’t have that many left and if you’re talking about trades certain teams are not going to want to give up their teams uh centers at some point in time they’re going to look at their roster and say you know what I like what I have and I’m going to move forward with the season at this point in time with this team and they’re not going to make a trade the Knicks need to pull off trades right now if they’re going to do one and clearly they’re working the phones and they’re trying to do that so you can’t blame Leon rhods for not going after a free agent at this point in time because in his mind in the Nicks front office mind they think they can pull off a trade for a center that’s why you haven’t heard about them signing a free agent as of yet and you got to remember and I know you don’t want to talk about this report from CP the franchise but we have to talk about it he did report from a source that he has that the Knicks remain interested in a Carl Anthony towns trade now why am I mentioning this there’s a couple of reasons why a lot of you guys in that video left some com stating is this still happening is this still true could it still be possible let me go ahead and answer that again yes it’s still possible the way that trade is possible is if the Knicks only give up Julius Randall Mitchell Robinson and do a sign and trade with press zoua you may ask yourself why is that the trade because dollar for dollar that’s what works for Carl Anthony Towns now this is without the Timberwolves asking for any first round picks or anything like that any addition players right this is what we have to hope the trade would be this is why it doesn’t work for me already but let’s say that’s the trade on the table and that’s the trade that Knicks want to go after it doesn’t mean that’s actually going to happen because the because the Minnesota Timberwolves may not want to go ahead and break up what they have just to go ahead and get Randall that doesn’t necessarily make you a better team yes you might want to avoid the second apron but don’t you want to win a championship weren’t you in the Western Conference Finals isn’t it more important to double down on the team that got you further than basically any team has before I think that makes sense for for any team GM or president to do so I think that’s what’s going to happen but even if the Knicks wanted to get towns it’s a bad trade off the bat Julius Randall fits this team better Carl Anthony towns again gets paid like a superstar but does not show up like a superstar never performs like a superstar never does anything that you would like a superstar to do especially when the moments matter the most like the playoffs like the Western Conference Finals what happened in the Western Conference Finals let me think about that shot miss that was a three shot miss that was a three shot miss that was a three don’t need any soft kitty cats in New York playing inside and we already know if he came to New York he couldn’t play the five he could never ever play the five if he came here we would be giving up a five and not getting one back he would be your power forward who’s your five so we have to do more work to look for now a starting five and a backup five Carl Anthony towns trade not only does it logically not make sense but towns is a disaster of a trade contract wise it makes me sick 54 54 million 54 million and the contract throws it balloons to 61 overtime for Carl Anthony towns somebody that when you need him to show up he’ll never show up going back to who it should be about right now is Duran he is the only player besides Walker Kessler that I would want the Knicks to go after because again young fits the timeline and if Detroit has them available and they will accept something that the Knicks are going to offer I’m okay with that as well too if I’m not going ahead and giving up my core I retain my core maybe I have to give up Mitchell Robinson in this deal but in return I get somebody like Jaylen Durant on my team I might do it I’m not saying I’m willing to give up Mitchell Robinson but I’m considering my aspects here and I’m not saying that Durant is not injury-prone as well too I understand he’s missed games as well I’m not saying he’s perfect but he’s young he still has the ability to develop correct all of those issues injuries and he can get better on defense and his offense is already miles better than Mitchell Robinson we have to remember that that’s why I would go after him if I’m the Knicks I would also go after Walker Kessler if he’s available but the Walker Kessler trade becomes less and less likely as the days go by because a just does not want to deal at a fair price and I was hoping that they will deal marinin because if they dealt marinin then maybe they got flush with a lot of draft assets and maybe he would go down a little bit on his cost for Kesler it doesn’t look like that’s a possibility right now because according to the latest reports they’re looking Utah anyways is looking to pay lri marinin because again they can trade him if they pay him now and they extend him they can pay him they can uh trade him I should say they should they could trade him February 5th I believe which is the last day of the trade deadline so I’m not saying they would but if they wanted to they could sign them now and then they could wait until the trade deadline and trade them then and get a lot of assets back he would be on a long-term contract I wouldn’t put it past Danny a he’s done crazy things like this before so it is something to uh worth mentioning and something to note but these are the players right now that the Knicks are currently having interest according to multiple NBA insiders you have Duran senon Walker Kessler and uh Nick Richards out of all of them the most realistic might be Nick Richards because of the cost if you’re looking in terms of availability and if they would accept what the Knicks could offer Duran and then obviously Walker Kesler but those are probably the targets that I would go after if I’m the Knicks clearly they’re working the phones right now looking at each and every single one of those targets we have a couple of other segments that I want to get to for today’s show including Mel Bridges and how he feels about ogn and Obi in that fit we’re also going to talk about rookie Tyler KCK who is ready recently had a workout with I believe Chris Brickley and he went off before I continue here we have a super chat so let me go ahead and show that to you guys and also get before I get to your comment though I just want to say again the Nick’s trade Target it’s going to be very very Crystal Clear who that’s going to be as the weeks go by and I can’t wait to see who Leon Rose targets but going back the flavor and his comments here for summer league I do agree it is key for rokus rokus is going to build up not his trade value but his ability to get that training camp extension remember that’s the only thing he wants to do in summer league he wants to play well enough that he gets extended that invitation if he gets extended invitation he does well at camp and then he gets a roster spot and then potentially he plays whether it’s in the G League or whatever it is that’s how he increases his trade value and then then you can start talking about okay I can include him in this trade or this trade for that player but that’s a very good uh thought right there now going to your stuff with the rockets for Adam senon and Whitmore I don’t think the Rockets have any business wanting to trade for Julius Randall there’s a number of reasons for it but randle’s coming off of a number a number of different injuries right now hasn’t played in the in the playoffs yet not for a while and when he does play in the playoffs his ability has been questioned so you don’t really want to trade for that if you’re the rockets at this point and you’re not going to walk no excuse me you’re not going to know what Julius randle’s trade value is going to be down the road it could be worse as he ages I don’t think the Rockets are going to want to take the risk especially for a player like senon they just they don’t want to just give him away they would rather resign him they’re not going to sign him as of now that’s clear but it doesn’t mean they’re not going to sign sign him eventually they could sign him to a lot of money he understands that and normally when players are in a contract year excuse me normally when players are in a contract here they show up they show out they do everything in their power to make sure they get paid so you got to figure that as well too and again you trade for senon you’re going to be in the same situation you are with Randall Randall The Reason by the way everybody wants to trade Randall is because after this season Randall needs to get paid that’s why and guess what for senon after this season he’s going to need to get paid he’s going to want to he’s likely gonna want Max dollars Julius Randall might be close to Max dollars so either way you’re gonna have to pay one of them the only choice is who do you want to pay who is your choice but very good question love the rocus mention and of course I love the um senon talk with Randall but again I just don’t see the rockets doing that I don’t see happening but I to this where’s the other one at for a second here no no no where was that senon I want to mention this again the Knicks do have trade interest in Alfred senon A lot of people were pushing back on this there was a report floating out there a fake report report from an Ian Bagley on Nick’s Twitter apparently that had some people fooled so a lot of people went in that video and said the senon reports were false they were fake I just wanted to clarify that they’re not false they’re not fake maybe that report from Ian Bagley was false I agree with that that wasn’t true I didn’t report that though I reported Mark Burman a former New York Post writer who has a lot of sources and connections within the New York Knicks organization still who reported that Leon roseen the Knicks still have senon potentially on their radar so I just wanted to clarify that before we continued but without further Ado let’s go to the chat gang see what you guys have to say and get to your comments remember to Frank Frank says Gary Trent Jr is expected to pick between the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks uh Trent Jr and his agents are looking for a one-year deal you know I was waiting to talk about that but you brought it up and I’ll be happy to mention it so that is true I do want to mention that I did hear reports of that you guys should know as well too Landry shamit another player from Washington he might return to Washington but he might not the Knicks have interest in him as well too so the Knicks definitely have interest in adding either Gary Trent especially especially excuse me especially if Gary Trent is on a one-year deal if he accepts that and if he accepts that to build up his value because that’s the only reason he would do it now the report that I’ve read that I understand is that Gary Trent at this point in time is choosing between either the Nicks and the Philadelphia 76ers and he’s trying to make a decision between those two teams the reason why is because those two teams are contenders and if you’re going to sign a one-year deal with any team you’re going to do it with a contender so potentially if you have playing time you can build up your trade value build up your stock and then at the end of the year you either get traded get sign and traded or you can test out free agency and see who else wants you I think that’s what Gary Trent Jr wants to do maybe that’s what Landrew shamut wants to do the Knicks have interest in these veteran guards maybe that speaks to a point that they want to strengthen their bench because maybe they don’t ever know injury could happen you never know if some other players need rest if some players get sick maybe some players don’t do as well as we hope and maybe they need insurance for that and if you get insurance in the likes of a shamut or a Gary Trenton Jr that is pretty good insurance especially Trenton Jr he is somebody on defense that Tom tho would just fall in love with I believe he was one of the league leaders in steals steals so when he’s on the court he’s always a positive he’s always a benefit and he can shoot threes and with the spacing that he would get with the Knicks whether he’s playing with the backup unit or he’s playing with the starting unit he would destroy he would kill it I would love Trent Jr on this team especially if he can afford him at a very decent right excuse me a very decent rate we have to afford him at a very decent contract he’s going to ass a one-year deal we have the money to afford him we have the mid-level exception but it doesn’t mean he’s going to accept it he may want to increase his trade value but it doesn’t mean that he wants to come to the Knicks take a lot less and help us win if he did I’m not going to hate on him for it I would love to see it but maybe Philadelphia makes more sense because if you’re thinking about playing time where would he have more playing time would it be the Knicks or would it be another team would it be Philly I think it might be Philly I don’t like Philly I don’t want Philly to get him I hope the Knicks are able to get him but if you’re looking at it as a free agent and where I’m able where I’m going to be able to play and build up my trade value maybe the Sixers present a little bit better of an opportunity for that so that is something to watch very good comment though Frank I appreciate you we have a lot of other comments here so let’s continue here and see what everybody else has to say um let’s see I want to go through all the comments Anthony says no way the Pistons trade Jaylen Duran for Duce McBride they do that they should fold up the franchise he’s not wrong he’s not that’s a bad trade if I’m a GM and I’m saying you know what let me trade Jaylen Duran for these two protected picks that likely don’t mean anything even though one of those picks are one of my own and now it gives me ability to trade it again even though that’s the case and that is valuable it’s not as valuable as the player that Jaylen Duran is remember folks if they trade him what do they do at Center they also want to trade Isaiah seart as well if they trade both of those guys they have nobody left Jaylen Duran is Young he can grow with that entire roster J just shored up Kade Cunningham with a amazing contract very long-term deal they obviously want to build around what they have and jayen Durant’s going to be a big part of that now the Knicks are definitely interested I’m sure they reached out to Detroit I’m sure they tried to excuse me I’m sure they try to trade for him but of course the price was probably too high if you’re talking about the Knicks right now they can’t pay every single price the price that they can pay right now is a few protected picks a couple of second round picks and maybe if they want to trade another player Duce McBride if they have to Mitchell Robinson if they must Jericho Sims of course they can continue to add to the trade but they don’t want to do that because if they continue to add to the trade they lose players that are significant for this team players that can help us during next season during the postseason you don’t want to lose that and the Knicks right now of course the Knicks right now of course like their roster it’s clear if they didn’t they would have made that major trade they would have traded Julius Randall they would have traded Duce McBride but what did they do instead they protected Duce they didn’t trade him for the mcel bridges deal what did they do for Julius Randall they protected him and very good points why they protected him because his value right now is very low you can’t really trade him for anything and he didn’t play in the playoffs playoffs and Randall go hand inand the better he is in the playoffs the more his value is going to increase if you don’t see him in the playoffs his value is going to be hurt because of that if he’s injured his value is going to be hurt because of that why would you try to trade him now there’s no point in trying to trade Julius Randall now it doesn’t make sense and of course it doesn’t make sense to the Knicks they haven’t done it they’re not going to do it this offseason the time that that happens the earliest that could happen is the trade deadline of the upcoming season the earliest and I don’t even think it happens then because his value might still be questionable at that point in time but I appreciate your comment Nelson says any news on Jaylen Brunson thank you for the comment if you guys are wondering about his question he’s asking about Jaylen Brunson and his contract extension because today is the day jayen Brunson is eligible to sign an extension with the Knicks if he signs that extension he will leave upwards of 113 million on the table if he waits and he signs nothing he could get upwards of 200 I think of what 250 million next year and get this if he makes Allstar again and if he has another great year maybe he makes all NBA again that number it goes all the way up so it benefits him and his money if he doesn’t sign and he waits but in my opinion I did a video on it a lot of weeks ago Jaylen Brunson is going to resign with the New York Knicks I absolutely believe that if you want to understand why there’s a number of reasons number one the Nova Knicks are here baby let’s not deny it anymore Jaylen Mikel Dante Josh for for heaven’s sakes Jaylen Brunson and Josh Hart were at dinner together or were hanging out after dinner not even a day ago they’re besties this team loves every single player on it they love the roster they want to stick together Jaylen understands that he knows that and he knows if he takes the extension this year he will help the Knicks moving forward so much if Jaylen takes the contract extension this year the Knicks have flexibility a lot of flexibility moving forward for years to come and the money he leaves on the table he can likely make that up in endorsements and sponsorships we’re talking about Jaylen Brunson here we’re talking about New York here we’re talking about the Knicks here we’re talking about one of the best Knicks teams in my entire lifetime here he’ll make up the money but it is a lot of money to leave on the table personally I don’t care if he does it if he leaves the money on the table I’m not going to be mad if he waits and he signs that Mega contract I’m not going to be mad either because I think Jaylen Brunson deserves the money he absolutely does he has worked for it he’s already sacrificed he’s already on a bargain contract he’s already doing everything we need him to do as a as a superstar for this Knicks team as the point guard that we’ve always needed so if he wants to wait and take the the bigger deal no problem but if he wants to sacrifice and be the leader that we all believe him to be and we all know him to be and by the way he’s going to be a leader whether he takes the contract extension or not either way he’s still a leader I want to clarify that but him doing this is just another way he shows his leadership and I think he’s going to do it he has everything he could want in New York he is the star in New York this is his team this is his house he has no complaints forever he is going to be loved here because of what he’s done how he’s grown and what we’ve seen and he’s not done yet he’s not even hit his ceiling yet is my opinion he still has another level to go and that’s why jaylen’s going to sign the extension this summer he’s going to take less to stay with the Knicks he’s going to help the Knicks get better each and every year and help us be able to add impactful players because once you have the Stars once you have the players in place the only only things you need after that is the right role players the right bench the right support to your starters the Knicks really have that right now if you look at the bench we’re stacked the players that were playing in the playoffs last year for the Knicks where are they headed to the bench Josh Hart where is he going bench Dante de Venza where is he going bench Duce McBride I know he didn’t start for the Knicks a lot but he did start he’s going to the bench he’s going to have help with Tyler KCK I definitely think you’re going to see him on the bench maybe some other rookies on the bench you’re going to see Jericho Sims there another year of him we’re going to break down his tape a little bit later as well too show you what he’s been doing in the gym but this Knicks team right now is getting better we’re in the best shape we’ve ever been in under Leon Rose you don’t think Jaylen Brunson sees that you don’t think he notices that you don’t think he understands that New York right now is the most attractive they’ve ever been we can attract vets right now we can attract players that may take more with other teams but if they came to the Knicks they might take a vet minimum now why would they do that because with the Knicks they have an opportunity to win a championship that’s how we’re looked at right now one of the main reasons Jaylen Brunson and Jaylen Brunson loves security look back at Dallas when he could have signed that extension uh with Dallas but his agent told him to wait CU he could have gotten more money he pushed his agent and he said no call Dallas and tell him I want to sign right now that they traded for it’s been a while been a very long time but we saw with Excuse me but we saw it with Mel Bridges that might mean it might be a Changing of the Guard a little bit maybe we see a couple of more public appearances maybe from Leon Rose the team maybe them coming out and speaking out more in press conferences who knows I don’t know but it’s very good to see Mel Bridges going out there and taking questions from the media but one thing he spoke about and he spoke about a lot he answered a lot of questions he didn’t stop answering anything he didn’t uh let anything off the table he even spoke about where he was when he got the call or the text anyways that he was traded at uh Desmond Bane’s uh lake house we got to remember that he gave all of that he didn’t hide anything with that in mind we have to look look at what he said about OG and and Obi his comments about OG and and Obi took me back a little bit it shocked me because I expected the Nova comments expected the Nova conversations didn’t expect what he said about OG and and Obi Mel Bridges gave us some great comments on his fit with OG an anobi now I knew he was going to speak about this of course he was going to speak about this but I didn’t expect him to talk about it in this in this way because he spoke about a relationship he had about excuse me he spoke about a relationship he had with OG and anobi now before this trade if you asked me I didn’t think Mel Bridges and ogan anobi knew each other I didn’t think they had any type of relationship maybe a high and by relationship everybody in the NBA knows each other I didn’t think it was anything more than that but if you look at Mel brid’s comments no no no it’s a little bit more than that if you take a look at this here according to Mel Bridges he said the following on his fit with the Knicks my Nova guys OG always been a big fan Julius everybody I think I fit in really well you got two all NBA guys JB and Julius how I play good brand of basketball know how to make winning plays play the right way that spot right there about OG and an Obi and being a big fan that was the start of it if you listen to the entire press conference he expanded on that he spoke about the fact that he’s known OG and anobi for a lot of years many years he has a relationship with him he can’t wait to play with him he’s looking forward to playing with him he’s looking forward to exploring what that dynamic between him and OG an anobi can do on the basketball court not only on offense but on defense he also acknowledged the fact that that Squad was likely built for the Boston Celtics now he didn’t say that exactly he didn’t say only the Boston Celtics and I think for some type of way as well too we have to acknowledge the Knicks are not only trying to beat the Celtics here when you make a team like this excuse me when you create or make a team like this if you’re the Knicks you’re not trying to beat just one team of course you look at the Champs you want to beat the Champions but you want to be able to beat each and every single team you see on the floor on any given night if you have a Mel Bridges and OG an anobi Wing combination out there and then you have Jaylen Brunson somebody who can play Pick and rooll but who’s also an offensive Juggernaut Julius Randall three-time Allstar offensive Juggernaut let’s say for right now we keep Mitchell Robinson he’s your starting center whatever you want to say about him when healthy on the boards on defense he’s a monster and when healthy with that roster out there what are you going to do what are you doing as any opposition against that type of Team Mel Bridges is going to suffocate any player he sees on that Court what is OG anobi going to do the exact same thing if a guard comes in and they try to penetrate and create who are they seeing now not Dante Mel Bridges and if a wing is trying to go into the paint who are they seeing ogn and Obi or Mel Bridges because we can switch now and we can switch effortlessly efficiently nobody can stop it what are you going to do before what you could do you can try to throw double teams mismatch size whatever the case may be the only player you can legitimately do that to right now is Jaylen Brunson can you do it to Mel Bridges can you do it to ogn and Obi can you do it to Julius Randall a player that doesn’t get enough credit a player that’s going to drag Defenders two or three of them by the way underneath the paint and when he does that what’s going to be open in the corners what’s going to be open at the perimeter how many lanes are going to be available in the paint a lot randle’s going to give you all of that and don’t worry if you miss no no no don’t worry if you miss Mitchell Robinson’s right over there to clean it all up what have the Knicks LED in so many categories but they’ve LED in one specific category each and every year they’re dominant in it actually it’s one of the main reasons they’re so good in the East rebounds rebounding monster that’s what we do we rebound the ball and get Second Chance opportunities so you’re telling me we’re that type of Team where everybody’s going to be focused on that and we have these type of players and you have Mel Bridges and OG anobi the shields of the Knicks right now protecting everything with Mitchell Robinson inside or another strong Center whoever you want to put in there inside Under head coach Tom thibo that’s the roster we have what are you doing against that nothing nothing you can game plan you you can try you can try to penetrate you can try to get through it you can try to see if yeah maybe this is the play I can get past Mel Bridges this is the play I can get past ogan anobi you’re gonna find out real quick you have a big problem on your hands you better have some Allstars on your team because if you don’t there’s no way you’re coming through US you’re not getting past our defense and you’re not stopping our offense everybody that wants to go ahead and criticize Mel Bridges as not being a focal point of the offense okay sure he’s the third option on this team the third option on this team is Mel Bridges did we forget what he did in Phoenix have we forgotten the defense have we forgotten the offense the shooting the lockdown defense has it all been a blur I haven’t forgotten I still remember I know that’s the player the Knicks are getting I know that’s the player that Knicks traded for I know that player was good enough that Brooklyn felt so comfortable to trade Kevin Durant for that player but go ahead call it an overpay say it wasn’t a trade that the Knicks should have made say it wasn’t a good trade we’re Championship contenders raise your hand if any team in the league could make one move and become Championship contenders I’ll wait everyone there’s a reason for that folks there’s a reason for that because everybody when they have the chance to create greatness they’re going to do it Leon Rose just did that Mel Bridges speaking about his fit with OG G with Randall he mentioned the Nova guys but only this much he mentioned how much he wants to play with Randall how much he wants to play with OG the relationship he has why is the relationship important the relationship is important because in basketball relationships matter more than anything it helps build more chemistry and if you already have chemistry it helps to build on top of that very quickly he has that with OG he has excuse me he has that with OG and an Obi already and he’s going to continue to build that that match is amazing can we give us some credit here for the Knicks having the best defensive Wing duo in the league we did that we created that we have that we can talk about trades we can talk about all that let’s put some respect on what we have right now we’re talking about making a trade so we can be more locked in for the NBA Finals the team we have right now this team this team right now this team right here this team this team that we got right here this team can still go all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals as currently constructed put some respect on the Knicks it’s not like we have to make a trade we want to we want to say it with me we don’t have to make a trade we want to because we want to take it to the next level we want to get better we want to be an NBA Finals team each and every day this chat has given me that each and every day so I appreciate each and every one of you but going to the free agents cuz we have to there only a few free agents left on the market the Knicks of course are looking to make that major trade but if they can’t land anybody because they don’t have the assets necessary they’re going to look at the free agent Market it’s dried up guys I can’t lie if you’re looking for a center right now on the free agent Market you’re not going to find one one doesn’t exist I’m sorry to say it’s not there but but if you do look at some free agents on the market you’ll see a couple of names there a couple of names that the Knicks have shown interesting now they’re forwards they do have size but if they came to the Knicks the Knicks don’t need a forward not now they need a backup center so even though they’re forwards they’re going to play backup center to Mitchell Robinson if they come to this team let’s break down who those free agents are right now so according to Michael Scot of Hoops hype he States the following the New York Knicks are among the teams who have expressed interest in signing free agent Davis bertans bertans has shot 39.6% from three-point range in his career and he played for laia in the FBA Olympics qualifying tournament his career averages are 7.7 points and 2.4 rebounds per contest while shooting 42.2% from the field and 39.6% from the three-point range in 475 regular season games he has also appeared in 45 NBA playoff games two starts we also have to factor in he’s 6 foot1 so he’s 6′ 10 folks he’s not small by any stretch of the imaginations he’s a tall guy if he came here he could play backup center could play backup center probably wouldn’t be a great backup center we have to stop doing this we as Nick fans see a person see a player and instantly think if we get him and he comes here and he plays back up Center he can do well because our head coach is Tom thibo to an extent that’s true but not if that player doesn’t have the skill set he’s never been that player folks when has Davis bans ever been a lock down Defender a great rebounder never can he become that sure but he’s Aging in this league he’s not going to get better as he ages he’s going to continue to do everything that he does well shoot the mid-range well and shoot the three ball well and if they were bringing him in to play maybe a bojan role I wouldn’t mind that but they’re not bringing him in to play a bojan w excuse me they’re not bringing him in to play a bojan roll they’re likely going to bring him in to play the backup center position he’s going to be inside the paint because that’s where Tom thibo likes to have his centers that’s not where he’s effective where is he effective in the mid-range he’s effective at the three-point line so if he’s effective there when the Knicks are trying to run their offensive sets that’s where he’s going to be who’s going to get the rebounds in those situations if he’s playing with the bench who’s going to get those rebounds who is he playing with with the starting unit if that happens who’s getting the rebounds we have to mention it it sounds good on paper it sounds nice he has the skill set I’m not saying he doesn’t I’m not saying he doesn’t have the skill set he can be good on the Knicks if he plays the role he’s supposed to play but that’s likely not going to happen he’s not going to be able to play that role with the roster we have we need a backup center if he can’t play that role there’s no reason for the Nick to go after him I can understand why the Knicks would have interest again his height his size his ability but that’s the only reason why the Knicks probably have interest other than that I really can’t see them making a deal for him honestly but let’s continue here because that’s not the only free agent available but you guys know who I’m going to be talking about I’ve said his name probably for the last 3 weeks and there’s a reason he’s still on the free agent market and nobody’s picked him up you know what I’m talking about precious AA shout out to Sports Illustrated for giving us the following information according to them the New York Knicks opted to not extend press zoua a qualifying offer making the former Raptors forward an un excuse me an unrestricted free agent this summer New York is said to still be interested in reigning him according to Fred Catz but no deal has materialized as of yet here this though here’s the more important part excuse me here’s the more important part here’s what I want to talk about something that doesn’t get said enough even though atua did play backup center for the Knicks last season he did it by the way because we were injured we had nobody to play and we needed players on the floor I wanted to mention that but either way here’s how Tom tho views prua because a lot of people are saying s AA he could come here he could be the backup center that’s true but maybe only if Tom Tibido wants it that way because according to the New York Post Steph Bondi he reports Tom thibo prefers prees aoua at the four spot he’s slightly undersized at 6’8 or if you want to say 6’9 whatever ever according to Tom thibo he might be slightly undersized to play that position and if Mitchell Robinson is sidelined for an extended period of time it might be a lot to ask press zoua to play center position for the Knicks and again playing center for the Knicks is no easy task you’re going to have to bang you’re going to have to rebound you’re going to have to get those put back dunks you’re going to have to put your body on the line each and every night it’s not going to be easy and some nights you’re not excuse me and some nights you might not be able to score you might have to pass the ball to another player that’s open maybe it’s jayen Brunson Julius Randall whoever it is and if you’re somebody that thrives on getting a little bit of offense some nights it may not be your night but get this if the Knicks cannot make a trade if they cannot pull off a trade if nobody else is available if they can get precious if they can’t get Davis bans if they cannot fill out that Center position they’re going to go into the season with Jericho Sims and Mitchell Robinson is that what I want from watching my videos I’m sure you guys already know Mitchell Robinson I’m extremely fearful about his health over the last few seasons have gotten worse he’s missed more games and it’s concerning when he’s healthy and he’s active one of the best centers in the in the league terms of Defense excuse me when he’s available and active he is one of the best centers in terms of Defense in the league but more than that even though he’s that on offense what does he give you and that’s the problem with Mitchell Robinson not only that his health concerns when you put it all together it makes sense why the Knicks are looking to upgrade at the center position or at least try to find a backup center that can play starter minutes because if you’re playing starter minutes as a backup or you’re used to it it’s helpful for the Knicks because that shows you their level of confidence in Mitchell Robinson he might be able to start some games a handful of games but they don’t have confidence that they’ll start every single game and if you don’t have confidence in that you need somebody that can play play a lot of minutes has the size to play a lot of minutes that can bang and is used to playing that position AA not used to playing that position bans not used to playing that position but between the two AA would be the one that I would go with because he has experience Under head coach Tom Tibido he understands how to play with Jaylen Brunson he understands his role he was effective for the Nicks last year more effective than he ever was in his entire career we have to mention that so given all of that if they can’t make a trade go after Precious sign him get him on this team and hope and pray Mitchell Robinson doesn’t get injured Jericho Sims takes a magical step and prees atua continues to do what he did last last year impress each and every one of us because he was doing that incredibly enough and I didn’t believe he was going to especially after the slow start but after we went down with a lot of injuries Tom tiido put him in he stepped up and he did what he needed to do a lot of the games you got to credit him you got to credit him to get those rebounds making sure he got those uh points for us he was making sure he was playing with Jaylen Brunson very well I remember those games some of those games the Knicks were struggl struggling to win but pre atua came through and he got it done for us so I don’t mind it I remember those games and if Mitchel Robinson does go down in a couple of games the Knicks can definitely pull that off insert pre tuua into that game and maybe that does something for the Knicks maybe it protects them in the long run but for right now I want to hear from you guys cuz you guys have been going off in the chat it’s been going crazy right now so we’re going to go to your comments before we go to the next in the postseason does Carl Anthony towns what does towns do in the postseason because he can stretch the floor I can understand why a lot of people want him on the team maybe that opens up the lanes a lot more for Jaylen Brunson right doesn’t it open up the lanes right now with the team that we have with Julius Randall underneath and he’s pulling two or three Defenders what happens to the wings what happens to the perimeter does Jaylen Brunson only do good when he goes into the paint because last I checked Jaylen Brunson can shoot the three very well you can’t leave him open as well too so that begs the question if you can’t leave Jaylen Brunson open is his Defender going to lean into him or beg off of him a little bit and see what he’s going to do probably sag off of him a little bit watch Jaylen Brunson cook him get into the paint and get an and one it’s not like Jaylen Brunson needs a lot of space we’re acting like Jaylen Brunson needs an entire red carpet to the basket in order for him to be efficient and be impactful for the Knicks he was taking contact with each and every big man last year he was a league leader in charges you don’t do that if you care about your body in terms of wanting to make the right play Jaylen Brunson cares about his body enough that he knows where he can take contact he takes a lot of contact but he gets right back up he takes those charges he gets the Knicks another possession that’s what you want to see there folks Julius Randall maybe he doesn’t play the same typ type of level of defense that some of our Knicks players do but the level of offense that a lot of players in the league wish they had they don’t have them Carl Anthony towns gives you the threes but inside what is he going to give you does he bang like Julius does he take contact like Julius I’m not saying can he does he very big difference there right can he take contact or does he take contact he can doesn’t seem like he likes to though Julius he will run through you physic specimen can we stop with this Carl Anthony towns business I understand the rumors I understand the reports it’s not going to happen he makes too much doesn’t impact the game enough and the Knicks are a better team with Julius Randall do I need to say it again let me say it again the Knicks are a better team with Julius Randall than Carl Anthony towns appreciate your comment though let’s at the same time you need to understand when to let go let’s say he does have another injury and you do want to trade him will he have as much value now excuse me will he have as much value then as he has right now he won’t he won’t if he goes through another injury and you try to trade him whatever value you can get for him right now which what might be a first round pick a player and a second round pick if I’m trying to be a little bit greedy that’s maybe what you get for Mitchell Robinson right now because of his injury history not because of what he can do because of his injury history remember you have to sell this trade to another team will another team want to give up significant assets for a player that doesn’t play significant amount of games that’s what you have to remember and understand and if another injury happens how do you sell that what’s that value what does that get you that’s the risk right now that the Knicks are taking I’m not saying trade Mitchell Robinson just to trade him not saying that but if you can make an upgrade at the center position a legitimate upgrade and you have to let go of Mitchell Robinson you let go of Mitchell Robinson because the defense if this player is young enough if that player is jayen Duran he’s young enough to learn the defense under Tom thibo and creative enough athletic enough and has experience to play great offense and he’ll play with Jaylen Brunson well too again if it’s available and that’s what’s being asked for all I’m saying is there’s a reason the Knicks are looking for centers right if they were comfortable wouldn’t they be looking for something else wouldn’t they be looking for anything else who are the players I named to start the show Walker Kesler Nick Rich s Alfred sangon Jaylen Duran all of those guys are what centers if they felt comfortable at the center position they wouldn’t be looking for centers they wouldn’t be looking to trade for centers I’m just saying what it is I don’t going to fit right in and here’s the thing that he said that should take a lot of people by surprise but if you’ve been watching this Channel and you’ve been listening to me I’ve spoken about this but he goes into a little bit more detail according to his former college coach he States the following his passing is is that excuse me his passing is as good as I’ve ever seen and I think it really will translate he’s not going to have the ball in his hands much but I actually think the part of his game that may surprise some people is that I’ve always felt his shooting has been underrated so out of all the aspects of his game and again this kid can score in every single way you know how Jaylen Brunson can do it I’m not saying he’s exactly like Jaylen Brunson he’s a couple of levels below him but the game is there inside the paint he got it floater he got it mid-range he got it talk about three-point shot he got it and the ball looks so beautiful when he releases it it looks so beautiful this kid can shoot and if he’s given a chance Off the Bench and you’re going to see it during summer league watch this kid I’ve said it for weeks this should be no surprise to the subscribers right now if summer league he is going to show out and let’s go ahead and roll some of his highlights so you can see what he was doing recently with trainer Chris Brickley and I love what Brickley does with a lot of the guys he works out with if you haven’t seen any of his workout videos please check them out because it’s something to watch I can’t play the audio on this unfortunately because it has the Drake song on it I’ll put the clip in the final video that I do for it but if you take a look here it’s going to load really quickly you take a look here you see Tyler KCK there’s our rookie go back there for a second I want to go back there for a second take a look at that look right there you can pause it right there at the look right there I couldn’t get it exactly there but look at the intensity look how focused this kid is ready locked in there’s a reason he doesn’t smile it’s not cuz he’s not happy oh he’s happy he loves the opportunity he just wants to show you what he can do with the opportunity let’s continue here and see what this kid can do man look at him smiling so he does smile look at the shot look at the shot just keep focused on the shot goes around shot release beautiful oh my goodness look at that man around has a nice little handle look at this kid you see the no looks right see him looking around right head always up it’s important you see his head’s always up right some people when they dribble looking down looking for their next move not this kid not this kid we’re going to run it again so you can see you see this kid though see the look in his eyes the focus that he has the shot it’s the shot and his head you see how his head always up look at some players when they dribble the ball look at Summer League sometimes folks when you see some players and they’re dribbling the ball they’re not going to have their head up always down to the ground looking for their dribble the next shot looking for the other player his head is up constantly looking at other players around my goodness man I love this kid the shot is there everything man look at the he puts it together so well beautiful shot I mean I mean what do you want me to say what what do you want me to say about this kid that I haven’t already said Marksman going to be a great shooter can pass the ball extremely well has handles is serious takes this already serious has a chip on his shoulder he already knew he should have gone in the first round but he fell fell all the way to the second round folks he fell all the way I’m just checking to see if jayen Brunson got that uh contract extension but it doesn’t look like he got it yet um but jayen Brunson excuse me not Jaylen Brunson I was gonna say who I was gonna say it again I lost my train thought kic sorry about that every time I look at the phone for Jaylen Brunson going back to kic but KCK seeing the things that this kid has been doing in training everything he’s been saying the chip that he clearly has on his shoulder he should have been a first round pick fell to the second round the Knicks drafted him the rest is history how many how many people in regards to NBA insiders former Co excuse me former coaches former players how many of them have to tell you that this guy is a steal how many of them have to tell you how good this kid is before you admit the truth here this kid is special you can see it in his game he’s not somebody that’s worried he’s not somebody that’s rushed he’s not somebody concerned about anything like that he’s calm relaxed head up Eyes Wide Open focused looking around point guard play he has that vision and did you see the shot the shot is there he can hit the three as well too the mid-range is there folks the Knicks got a very very good rookie in Tyler KCK they hit the jackpot they landed somebody they potentially shouldn’t have landed and now this steel is somebody they have a long-term Vision in they want to develop him and they want to make him a Nick player of the future and if he’s a player of the future if Bome daier is a player of the future if uh Ariel huapi is a player of the future I think the Knicks have a lot to look forward to don’t you guys before we were looking at Trevor Kels thinking well we got kills not anymore the future looks bright right because right now you look toward the season and our roster looks amazing and then you look towards Summer League something that Nick fans collectively we just don’t do because there’s really nothing to watch our rookies really sometimes is really nothing to watch but because we’re dedicated we watch everything and you know I’m going to watch as well too but this year with the rookies we have this year it’s must watch poic rois Ariel Pome and we have other players that we just added to the summer league roster that all have something on the line something that they need to prove when you have a roster like that every everybody wants to do well everybody wants to show out somebody asked me in the comments why I think this summer league team can take it all it’s because they have the talent and they have the roster and they have the focus the mentality to do that it’s not always about first round picks sometimes it’s about how hard you train who you train with and the players around you and the Knicks have a lot of good players on that team watch this Nick’s team they’re going to surprise a lot of people come summer league one last thing I want to leave you guys with I have to talk about him Jericho Sims Jericho Sims is rumored to be the backup center if the season ended excuse me if the season started today Mitchell Robinson starting center Jericho Sims backup center he’s he’s getting a lot of hate a lot of players excuse me a lot of Nick fans I should say not players a lot of Nick fans do not want to see this guy back up Mitchell Robinson a number of reasons for that but the main reason the number one reason is because they think just because if he has to back up Mitchell Robinson it might not be something that the Knicks could recover from if he’s in the game if he’s in the game the Knicks might not be able to do something about Mitchell Robinson in that type of game excuse me I got to call now look at this slide for a second guys I think my son’s bus company is giving me a call here one second guys I apologize sorry about that guys I thought it was my son but it wasn’t thankfully I have a few more minutes here again going back to Jericho Sims here with Sims if again the season ended today excuse me started today it would be Jericho Sims playing that backup center he’s been recently working on his jump shot though and I know a lot of people have been killing him if he does start at the backup center position what happens for the Knicks are we a worst team do we not become that team that can go all the way because we don’t have that depth at Center you know what I don’t think that’s the case because if Jericho Sims is part of this roster if he’s part of this team and Tom thibo is going to put him out there I think he’s going to have some type of impact now I understand I don’t want him to be the backup center either I think there are other options out there I hope the Knicks can do that but let’s just say they can’t do that they have to roll out with them and if you want to look at what he’s been doing the least that we can say is that he’s been working out and been doing things in the off season he’s been working out and at least trying to improve his game and since that’s the case we have to give him a little bit of credit right we have to say at least he’s been doing something so let’s roll the tape here and let’s go ahead and give you some information on what Jericho Sims has been doing shout out to Jericho Sims working on his game and working on his tape loading it up here as you can see here he’s working on his free throws here and that’s currently on Instagram and then as you can see here boom see how he’s taking jump shots but look he’s moving and then taking the shot you see dribble and then shot so he’s actually working on his game I want to play that back a little bit so we can take a look and um take a look at his game again so as you can see here at this point in time right now you see he takes the shot he dribbles and then pulls up for the shot now the reason he’s doing that is because he needs to expand his game if he is going to be the backup center for the Knicks if his exact going to be this way Mitchell Robinson starts and Jericho Sim’s going to come off the bench he needs to be more of an offensive threat we need our centers to be more in of an offensive threat because if they’re not it’s really going to be four on five a lot of the time because they’re going to look at the center inside and G to look excuse me they’re going to look at the center inside and think to themselves I don’t got to put anybody on them I don’t got to defend him there’s no reason for that and that’s where double teams come from but if they have to put a body on your Center then and only then that opens up the entire floor for everybody else it might lead to more man on- man and if you’re doing man-on-man defense for Jaylen Brunson what’s gonna happen for Jaylen Brunson with a man-on-man defense we’ve seen it a number of times right he cooks everybody he legitimately Cooks anybody in front of him he’s been doing that to double teams he’s been learning to get out of that if he’s already learning how to get out of that could you imagine what a single man coverage could mean you don’t want to do that to Jaylen Brunson if Sims can become very good at that shot play it again so you can see it if Sims can do this this shot in games and he can do it consistently and and the defense has to put a body on him the Knicks are going to be a better team because of it now we may be asking a lot why well this is an empty gym and it doesn’t mean that because he’s doing it in an empty empty gym that he’s going to be able to do it everywhere it’s unfortunate I wish that was the case but we’ve seen it from Mitchell Robinson as well too Mitchell Robinson was shooting threes shooting mid-ranges passing the ball really well in practice with nobody really there and it doesn’t translate to the NBA is that going to be the same thing with Jericho Sims we don’t know as of yet but as of right now we have to at least be thankful that he’s on the team he’s on the roster he understands his weaknesses and he’s trying to work on his game free throws as a big man you need to have it if you don’t have a jump shot as a big man in the modern NBA you need to have it he’s working on those things he’s still young and maybe the Knicks have a little bit more faith in him if he can do it consistently and he shows out and he does it during preseason I don’t think he’s going to be part of the summer league I don’t know why he’s not part of the summer league honestly if I’m him and I didn’t have any reps anything at all I would absolutely want to play during the summer league and see what they can do now again that’s me personally but if you don’t want to do that you want to train by yourself that’s fine I don’t mind it as long as I can see some of the results come preseason that’s where he’s going to get all of his playing time I know that’s where he’s going to get it and that’s what I want to see I want to see what he can do with that much playing time underneath his belt if he can be significant impactful if he’s winded how he’s conditioned all of those things I’m going to be looking at for Jericho Sim but it is something significant to note that he is working on his game he does look like he’s working on his jump shot and potentially that’s something to look for come preseason if it translates well everybody wins if it doesn’t and it doesn’t look good then nobody wins in that situation especially him and we’ll probably see his playing time go downward in that situation and somebody who’s likely a backup power forward for us maybe a press zoua whoever that is might play that backup center position because you need offense you need rebounding but you also need somebody inside that can run plays and understand positioning and their role sometimes with Jericho Sims can we really say that again not knocking the kid but he doesn’t get a lot of time anyways and when he does he really hasn’t done anything with it maybe this year it’ll be different hopefully it is because I am rooting for him I love the Knicks kids and if he can do any special and become good become better than he is right now I’m going to be happy to see it only time will tell we’re not going to unfortunately see it in summer league but we’re going to see a lot of other things in summer league things that make me so excited and I hope it makes you excited as well too now normally to end the show what I do is I have a direct chat with you one thing that I’m probably going to get a very unpopular opinion for nobody mentions positioning anymore do you know why Isaiah har Stein was a major loss for the Knicks it was because of the way he grabbed the rebound positioned himself and he could read everything on the floor passing passing Lane and behind him that way players would run to him and he would get other players open Mitchell Robinson doesn’t have that ability I love Mitch doesn’t have that ability Jericho Sims doesn’t have that ability that’s why it’s scary the goal if you just jump up and get a rebound that’s great but what if you jump up and get a rebound and you stop what may have been a break from Josh Hart a break inside from Jaylen Brunson there are reasons why positioning matters inside especially as a big man Mitchell Robinson’s positioning as well as his offense is poor if you want to go even further beyond that let’s talk about screens his screens are okay right are they legendary no he needs to get better with that as well too I’m not trying to pick him apart but if you’re going to tell me that and you’re going to try to compare that these things happen I gotta say what I say about Mitchell Robinson love him think he’s going to be a great player for this Knicks team when healthy but when he’s not healthy when he doesn’t give you any offense when he struggles to find his position in inside when his screens are a little bit weaker poor it’s fair to talk about that remember screens are weak and poor when you’re dragging that leg look at the way he he sets those screens he drags the leg I’m not trying to hate watch we could I might do a a stream at some point where I’m breaking down different players in their game like we did with Jericho Sims just now and I might show you each and every time this happens with Mitchell Robinson against the time it happens with Isaiah hartenstein if you want to see that hit the comments below and make sure you drop that comment um let’s keep Knicks need to win now but their window to win a championship is four to five years do you want to know why I say that look at the players on the team the roster that we have the players that we could potentially resign and the amounts that they could get the Knicks new this when they brought Mel in here yes they want to win now but they also want to continue winning the goal is not one chip James it’s not and you may think you’re in a better position but if all those players you get all those draft picks you get are late draft picks and they don’t amount to anything and you trade them down the road for a player that doesn’t really help you get over the hump which you’ve done every single time as a franchise that you could have so we’re just going by history here James are you really in a better position the Knicks are about to get a championship we have a window of four to five years I don’t think you’re in a position to say anything right now I think you should just look at big brother and let see what big brother can do but shout out to you James even though we don’t agree I appreciate you supporting the stream OG Dave says glad you brought up uh positioning Troy Sims is The New York Knicks continue to look for upgrades at the center position, with new names being added to the trade targets list each day. The Knicks have been trying to fill the void at the center position after Isaiah Hartenstein left NY in free agency. Mitchell Robinson is penciled in as the starting center for NY right now, but due to his injury history and lack of availability, the Knicks are looking for a more permanent solution for that position. According to multiple NBA Insiders, the Knicks have always had interest in Jalen Duren & the Pistons are open to moving their centers. Mikal Bridges recently made comments at his introductory press conference about his role with the Knicks and made some shocking comments on his relationship with OG Anunoby. We will also take a look at the current free agents on the market that NY can target if they fail to execute a trade… Troy Mahabir breaks all of this down!
