did you know one of the most famous coaches in college basketball had beef with the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers Dan Hurley had to climb the ranks as a coach his first glimpse of coaching future NBA players was when he became a head coach at St Benedict’s prep from 2001 to 2010 this is where he’d meet the likes of J.R Smith and Tristan Thompson as someone who implored a non-nonsense coaching style Hurley often locked horns with both players like the time when he found out Smith left school early without permission to get a haircut immediately benched him in their next State Tournament game but for Thompson it was a lot worse when he shot a rare three and failed to run back on defense instead of benching him the next game Hurley chose to kick him off the team you could only imagine what would happen if he agreed to be the coach of the Lakers
