Is ben considered a liability?

I think he’s a great role player who makes a huge difference on defense. One of the better options without a jumper in the league imo

If Ben was on a role player salary, he wouldn’t be a liability. His contract makes him a liability, coupled with the fact that he isn’t able to play many games.

I feel for him. I’ve had back surgery too and I still have lingering issues. Couldn’t imagine the strain professional basketball would cause. Reading his interview last year was really an eye-opener into his mental and physical state. I believe he wants to play, but I don’t know that he ever will make a real contribution again.

He’s definitely not an asset, but hopefully he can help us lose without getting in the way of younger players growth and development

  3. At this point if he comes back healthy and starts winning games, he’ll be more of a liability than he ever was.

When fully healthy, he’s not. The problem is that hasn’t been the case for years now.

Hell yea, we could be doing something with that money lol

Not really. He’s a big expiring contract, so we can be involved in a 3 team trade to make salaries match for a star going to another team.

On the court he’s a liability, but he doesn’t want to be on the court so that’s a non issue

He is, for the purposes of this sub, the Expiring Contract Known As Ben Simmons.

That’s an asset in a lot of trade scenarios.

I spent a couple of pre-seasons hoping against hope that he might show up and play.

He wouldn’t be the first languishing star to find an extra oomph in the final year of their deal. But that’s just me holding out hope for old times’ sake.

    More of a sunk cost.

They are stuck with him until the trade deadline at least.

But his Skillset is very hard to find.

If he is healthy, he has to play.
