Knicks Summer League | BIGGEST Takeaways from Game 1

what is going on Nick Nation welcome back to nck Media my name is Richie and today I want to break down my biggest takeaways from game one of the Nick Summer League last night they did not come away with the w Jacob Topp and misses the game tying alleyoop layup and the Knicks lose in game number one but summer league is not about or losses in my opinion I’m really looking at the Young Players like Tyler kic and even Dwayne Washington leading the Knicks in scoring Jacob top and daddy a and what we could take away from the Knicks rookies heading into the rest of the Summer League games let me know your thoughts in the comment section down below of what your biggest takeaways are from last night’s game from the New York Knicks taking on the Charlotte Hornets don’t forget to like the video and subscribe if you’re new let’s get straight into business the biggest takeaway is definitely Tyler KCK he stole show for me personally he just looks like he has it and what I mean by it is the feel for the game the biggest point of Tyler kok’s game that stood out to me is definitely his ability to get his teammates involved he just has a natural ability to find the open shooter he has a quick pass you see the highlights from Tyler K right on the screen here could see of our boy T on X of course bringing us the best highlights on Twitter for Nicks fans but Tyler KCK finished a game with seven points seven rebounds seven assists zero turnovers and a team High a a plus n okay not anybody on this Knicks team had anything close to a plus minus of something like a plus n so when Tyler KCK was on the court for the New York Knicks he was efficient and he helped the Knicks do enough to win the game but obviously not too much because his teammates around him was not giving him enough support So Tyler KCK was definitely the player that stood out to me personally the most and I’m really excited to see what he can do for the rest of the summer league I’m really excited to see what Jacob toppen is going to be able to do for the rest of the summer league as well I feel like he really shows some promise for me now listen this is year two for him undrafted for the Knicks last year he has to show some more ability to G confidence and that was Obby toppin problem with the Knicks his confidence but I feel like Jacob toppen definitely showed some flashes for me personally Dwayne Washington leading the Knicks with 26 points you can honestly tell going into the summer league that Dwayne Washington was going to be the main guy that’s going to be scoring for the New York Knicks and he does just that with 26 points of eight of 18 from the field hook pory in his first game with the Knicks in the summer league he showed a lot of touch at The Rim I feel like his hard screens was really impressive as well six points and five rebounds he had a little Skyhook in the paint that I was really impressive from hpy uh and mcculler Jr did not play in this one when I broke down the roster I knew that there was some you know skepticism that he may not play because of his injury so unfortunately one of the Knick rookies will not be playing in the nick summer league he’s back in New York rehabbing that knee injury but Bome dader he did play and he definitely looks raw something that we all expected as Nicks fans as an 18-year-old he’d get the Jitters out of the way as first first few shots did not look good but he finished with five points and five rebounds two of eight from the field and I really do feel like the more that this Knicks team gets playing time together the more they’re going to get confidence and more chemistry together roas yakob B is back with the Knicks since 2021 summer league he finished with eight points but at the end of the day my biggest takeaway is 100% Tyler kic man he feels like he has something different in him in terms of his mentality his confidence is through the roof his basketball intelligence and his ability to get his teammates involved really feels like it’s natural the pick and roll game spraying it out to the shooters just wait to see him out there with Dante de venzo for example to give the ball to on the open shot or have a guy like Dante that can move without the ball I can’t wait to see what Tyler kak is going to do I think he’s going to steal the show and steal the hearts of Nick’s fans when it comes to these summer leagues so that’s my biggest takeaways Dwayne Washington was good offensively and when it comes from a defensive standpoint I do have to mentioned Bome dader he didn’t lock down Miller but he definitely showed some promise on that defensive side of the ball I feel like he when we drafted him not a lot of people were talking about his defense they felt like that could be a weakness but under Tom Tibido and under the Knicks culture I think dadd a has the size and has the length to really buy into the defensive system if he really wants to and he showed some promise uh yesterday in some defensive possessions but again that’s my biggest takeaways kic seven points seven rebounds seven dimes zero turnovers and a plus minus of a plus nine Tyler kic I cannot wait to see what you got going I love your game I’m obsessed with it to be honest I feel like he has what it takes takes to develop and maybe be the primary backup point guard behind Jaylen Brunson even this
