Anfernee Simons MUST Be Traded by The Trailblazers…
anony Simons must be traded by the Portland Trailblazers this off season or does he welcome back to my channel I hope you guys are having a great day so far today I’m going to break down both sides of the argument and leave the question with you the viewer on if Anthony Simons should or should not be traded by the Trailblazers this off season before we get into the video please do make sure to like comment and subscribe if you haven’t already we’re on the road to 1,000 subscribers and it would really mean a lot to me and make sure to turn on the notification Bell so you never miss an upload and with that said let’s get right into to it Portland Trailblazers general manager Joe Cronin recently did an interview where he was asked about the future of this team he mentioned that scoot Henderson and Shane sharp are the players that they’re looking to build around but he failed to mention the name Anthony Simons like I said we’ve got to continue to build this Talent base and you know we’re committed to scoot and Shaden being a massive part of what we’re doing and how do we find ways to you know give them the support they need and make them better was this intentional or did he just make a simple speaking error but it seems like every time it’s brought up Anthony Simon’s name is left out of that equation you can make a strong argument that Anthony Simons is the Blazer’s best player at this current moment in time and honestly I don’t know if I would disagree with you on that however how does he fit in with this team and his future hopes of reaching a championship one day so without further Ado let’s break down both sides of the argument on the one hand anony Simon showed out to be an amazing player with great stats in his first season leading this Trailblazers Team without Damen Lillard in this last season Anthony Simons averaged 22.6 points 3.6 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 46 games that he played during those games he averaged 43% from the field and an amazing 38.5% from the three-point line after the season he ended up ranking number five overall in on ball gravity just behind players like Luca donic Damen Lillard Steph Curry and Devin Booker all of which are superstars on their teams if you’re not familiar with on ball gravity it’s essentially how much attention is the defense giving you and when you have the ball in your hands how much are you pulling the team to try to get the ball out of your hands we saw this a lot this year where Anthony would be getting double teamed in plays and seemingly the other team didn’t seem to care what every other player on the Blazers was doing besides Anthony Simons to rank number five on this list ahead of players like Jaylen Brunson Trey young Giannis Anto TMO James Harden and Julius Randall is just insane he was also playing on a new team full of new and young players players that he had never played with before and as we saw with players like scoot Henderson and DeAndre aen it takes time to develop that chemistry amongst players this was also Anthony Simon’s first year being a true number one option on a team and had to adjust to getting that extra defensive attention without Dame being on the roster despite the adversity he was still putting up amazing stats and was even one of the best offensive players in the league this last year when he was on the court and if there isn’t much of a market for Anthony Simons why would you trade him so I know what you’re saying where do the concerns lie with him it might seem like he does a bit of everything he scores shoots the ball well attracts a lot of defensive attention he almost made six assists a game so he can pass quite a bit he’s quick he’s very athletic and can dunk the ball as a lot of people seem to forget that he actually won the NBA dunk contest a few years ago but let me break down a few reasons why NBA fans might want to trade Anthony Simons Anthony Simons the last couple of seasons has been one of the worst defenders in the league and so a lot of Blazer fans don’t want to see a back court that lacks in defense like we have the last decade Anthony Simons if he was still on the roster would also be taking valuable minutes and developmental time away from scoot Henderson as it would be likely that your scarting back court on night one would be Anthony and Shane sharp and if this team wants hopes of winning a championship you want to do everything in your power to give the keys to scoot Henderson and see what he can become and in the NBA in general it’s not too hard to find a guard who can score the ball well but doesn’t necessarily need very much playing time and might not be the best on defense which is a mold that Anthony Simon seems to slip into and Anthony is also 25 years old and so he doesn’t really fit the long-term plan for this young rebuilding roster and his play style doesn’t really fit the mold of a player who would ever be a number one or number two option on a contending team in an Ideal World Anthony Simons would be a sixthman but he’s too good to be a sixthman and he also makes too much money he’s the kind of guy that if you have him on your roster you most certainly need to start him Anthony Simons has also expressed in his exit interview this last season that he wants to win and he wants to win soon for me um you know my six years is done now and going to year seven like I want to you know have the opportunity to win yeah I know um you know I want to I think you know what I mean obviously you know I mean losing is not fun at all you know what I mean so I want to be have opportunity to you know really show myself in the playoffs on and you know winning is you know one of those things that obviously everybody wants to do but you know for me now that’s like top priority and so it seems like Anthony Simon may be on a different timeline than the front office currently is so there you have it I have provided both Arguments for why the Trailblazers may want to keep or may want to get rid of Anthony Simon sometime this off season as you can see there is a case to be made for either option and considering his stats his efficiency as an offensive player his athleticism there’s a strong case to be made to keep him but also there’s also a case to be made for trading him as he doesn’t fit the timeline of this team and isn’t the best defender and would be taking developmental time away from scoo Henderson and so in that case it may be smart to move off of him if you can find good value for him at the end of the day I think that’s what it comes down to can you find a trade for Anthony Simons is there a team out there that is willing to give up fair value for him cuz if you’re just giving him up for expiring contracts and one first round pick then I say you should just keep him the Orlando Magic have been floated around as a team who may be interested in Anthony Simons however after signing Gary Harris and kcp from the Nuggets it may not seem very viable that they may want to trade for Anthony Simons this offseason so in my opinion that’s what it comes down to but let me know what you think comment below and let me know do you think Anthony Simon should be traded by the Trailblazers or do you think he’s a core piece of this team moving forward that’s all I have for you guys today thank you so much for sticking to the end of the video again if you haven’t subscribed please make sure to hit that subscribe button like the video and comment below letting me know what you think of Anthony Simons with that said that’s all I have for you guys I hope you have a great rest of your day and until next time I’ll see you later

I aint trading Ant, there is enough minutes to share in the backcourt and actually, Im waiting to see if Scoot has more ceiling than Ant or if he's going to be the better player. For now just accept that we have 3 great talents, playing different style of basketball, and that there is a way to make it work. Avdija is the type of SF that open up things for Ant and Sharpe as scorers due to his playmaking skills. So we should not even consider trading Ant. I want Ant alongside Sharpe, Scoot getting 6th man minutes, developping chemistry with Clingan in the 2nd unit.
The best player on the team now is Deni Avdija. His all-around game needs to be unlocked – don't relegate him to a third or fourth option. And Shae needs to start. At the end of the day, the Blazers are putting together a much more capable defensive squad. Both Shae and Scoot may not become great defensively, but their ceiling is higher than Ant's. His shooting would be missed, but the team would be better off to find Ant a new home.
I would keep Ant and run him as the PG and trade Ayton.
Trade Grant and one center first. Front court is now what the back court was. Overcrowded. Trade Simons in February and hope we get Flagg next year. Trade Murray or Walker also.
Play Clingan on Day 1, see if he can play PF with Ayton, but only if Clingan hits threes.
Simons game is PERFECT for being a vet with a young group. Why get rid of him?
like any player, i would wonder: does he pass the ball well for group-basketball? and what about his defence?
he is a poor defender.
I AGREE, get Simons, Ayton, and maybe Grant OUTTA HERE! And fire chauncy billups, especially if the blazers are poor this season. Great vid brotha! 🔥
For me it is simple. The Blazers have used Two top 7 picks and a top 3 pick on guys. It is time to turn the keys over to Shae, Scoot and Clingan. WTH is the point of keeping Ant, Grant and Ayton to win 28 to 30 wins if healthy? Even without the Cooper Flagg factor, it is time to finish the tear down.
Wack been watching Simon's ready to take dame spot
NOW WE GOT A TEAM FULL
WATER BOYS!!!!
Bye bye 👋🏽 Ant!
Get rid of him!
Tanking for Flagg most likely will NOT work out. The odds are very much against it. I would rather they keep the team they have for a few years and let them develop and blend together. Last year was a good eye opener with ALL of the injuries, that we need to keep our depth. Even if a miracle happened and we get Flagg, that does not mean an automatic championship. Go Blazers!
Imagine Ant with the lakers… obviously trades won’t work, but just imagine what LeBron would do with him! Then him executing the PnR with AD/lebron sheeeesh
Winning is his top priority. Over defensive effort haha. Cart ahead of the horse there.
I haven't even started listening and gave this a thumbs up. You sir, are good!
The Blazers owner & GM only care about money. It's really bad basketball. The team loses by 60 !! Lillard had to demand a trade… Simons might have to ask to be traded, otherwise he's stuck on the west coast Pistons
Also, have anyone who's saying "don't trade ant!" Watched us play? His a TO monster in crunch time. He's a wildly inconsistent shooter. 1 hot game then 3 poor games. His defense is NON EXISTENT. Why pound the defense mentality into a guy who gives up on plays, turns over balls and doesn't hustle back. I watched 90% of the games last year for us, he has no future here.
ant is the shizznit. scoot is a moron and his own teammates dont seem to like him.. trade scoot..
No no no no
Im glad that we wont be trading Ant.. if anything it appears that Joe Cronin is building a team around ant to compliment his strengths and shore up his weaknesses.
I swear Blazers fans would have traded Steph Curry
ANF MUST STAY AND SHOULNT BE TRADED:
1) he just turn 25 and perfectly fits with the rebuilt timeline, as guards can ball till mid 30s (Avdija 23.5, Camara/Murray 24 yo).
2) hes the only good and consistent 3point shooter for Portland atm, Scoot definitely not a shooter, Sharpe yet to prove he can be consistent.
3) atm Anf looks like is much much better player than Scoot can be (things can change but also there is a chance Scoot to be a bust, to be quite open and honest).
4) combo shooting guards dont have a high trade value atm, Miami cannot trade Herro for 2 years and hes part of the Miami scheme that appears to be a better defender.
trading him for a shitty first and some unproven young player is stupid. Its hard to get 2x 1st and that young player that Portland will get still will need development minutes.
5) Between Anf Scoot and Sharpe, they can easily play over 30min a game in the guards position. And if Sharpe plays 10-15min as a SF (which he should here and there) play time shouldn't be a topic of conversation why Anf needs to be traded.
6) Cronin CH said they are acquiring talent, why would Portland give away arguably their best player.
7) Grant Thybulle Timelord must be traded asap (potentially Jabari Reath as a throw in to make it works). If Portland gets 2 more 1st, that we would have more than enough 1st for future.
I cannot understand the argument of trading Anf so Scoot can develop as Anf can play 20min SG and 10-15min PG. Scoot cannot play 48min, and atm between foul trouble hes getting into he can barely play 25min (btw hes not much of a defender and hes much shorter than Anf).
Good report on this Blazer dilemma. I was inclined to keep Simons but not after you showed him telling the reporters that he wants to win now. Better move him if his vibe is not aligned with the current state of the rebuild.
Bro your channel is insane. You’ve already become by far the best blazer content in all of media. 2 weeks in and you’ve dropped like a dozen bangers already. The last 10 days especially have been goated. Idk where you came from but I’m hyped you’re here.
Do not trade Simons!
Zero need to trade him. Also, wont get much for him, hes not quite primetime yet. Let's continue to build him and reach his potential.
Not everyone on this team needs to be 21 years old, and as far as I can tell the only viable shooters are Simons and Deni. I don't want to win necessarily (This year) but the demoralization of getting destroyed every game could effect these competitive young players. We also need some players that have been in the league for a few years.
Simons was so upset we drafted Sharp, he wouldn’t even pass him the ball, even when Sharp was wide open
Not Simons but Grant
Luv Ur video!! Keep going 💪 love tr 🇰🇷
Just bring Ant off the bench as the 6th man, pretty simple.
I totally disagree. There is no need to trade Anfernee yet. There’s a real chance Scoot never reaches Anfernees level. Anfernee is one of the best shooters in the NBA. He’s only 24/25. He’s not in his prime yet. He’s unbelievably skilled, and I want to see a HEALTHY season from him. Last year he got injured on opening night, missed sooo many games, yet still averaged 22.6 & 5.5. You don’t trade that for nothing.
I want the Blazers to get players they actually use now and in the future. For that the most ideal trade would be to the Raptors for Bruce Brown & Jamal Shead. I think both those players fit the Blazers better and would be better for Shaedon & Scoot to have around for guidance and to learn from. Bruce Brown would be a great backup 2-3 and Jamal Shead would be a great backup 1 for the future and can even start if Scoot misses a game due to injury. Jamal Shead is a rookie, but he seems mature beyond his years and seems like a great player to have in the locker room tbh.
Yes he must
They really have no reason to trade him. He fits in with them currently
Hey there brother its great to see another aspiring youtube enter the basketball game. I was curious if you would be interested in a collaboration around the trailblazers going into next season if so let me know!
WHERE'S THAT TEACHING OF A CHAMPIONSHIP MENTALITY AT
GOT THE HEART OF LOSING ACT SOFT SUCKS WHEN THE OTHER TEAM KNOWS THERE GOING TO WIN ..
You gotta remember the CBA. Contract elevations will happen a lot slower. We will have the time to develop players from the bench and force them to be started.
Moronic he's still super young. We develop him for 5 years then trade him? Scoot is 2-3 years away from being a legit starter. He can learn a lot from Ant who learned from Dame and CJ. There's plenty of minutes for Scoot, Shadeon and Ant especially with our injury history. Everyone saying trade ant is short sighted and moronic. 3 firsts value minimum to consider it
