7.13.24 Summer League Coach Vince Legarza Postgame Media Availability | Phoenix Suns
coach it looked like Le towards the end there Ryan kind of hobbled a little bit with his leg is is he good or yeah heard anything yet you know he had the one play where he Dove on the floor um having right thing I’m sure a little check up on him curious just your overall impressions of of the game overall yeah you know what I give the Warriors credit you know they’ve been playing together for a week now I thought they switching really slowed us down and um we got to be better help our guys give them some solutions switching was successful cuz I think our guys kind of just played ISO ball playing for themselves we lost kind of the movement that we’ve been working you know working on during camp and uh so you know that’s something we can work on try to get better this week the only other thing I had was Gillespie I’m I’m surprised he’s not here but what’s the reason call him not yeah just kind of the timing on it and he’s he’s here I mean he’s here in Vegas he’s working every single day he’s getting better um you know working out with our coaching staff our medical staff um and so we just thought it was best for him to get better a different way go a little bit more maybe a little bit different than you yeah no I I think overall Rod you know did a really good job of going out there and competing um you know I’m sure he liked some of the shots to fall um you know and you know we’re as a group guys we trying to play fast again they’re switching we didn’t get to the multiple actions and I think Rody’s a guy that can start maybe handling on second and third actions and we didn’t get a lot tonight so hopefully you know later someone goes on we get more of that and he get more opportunity to do that how would you evaluate Ryan obviously the shot looked good couple of them right online just do ball defensively doing yeah I thought his defense was great I thought he competed again his ability to change shots at The Rim um his effort you know and his competitiveness showed for his entire time out that shots look good shots are going to fall shots are not going to fall he’s working a lot we believe in him so I was really pleased to play what you think of Oso overall he finished the round of Rim Early what was your what was your overall impression of him yeah I think you know it’s a good opportunity for him going against um Jackson Davis from the Warriors guy that’s played a lot of rotational minutes um you know again the switching didn’t let Oso probably create as much as we’d like and then we tried to get the ball in his hands some other stuff um I thought he did a good job defensively you know they beat us up on the boards a little bit early but that’s you know that’s on all five guys getting there and rebounding so you know om I thought also did a great job coach Bud said you know NBA somebody’s kind of interesting because sometimes you see guys do great here some guys that not do so well but then do great in the regular season yeah no I think the the best thing for for our guys you know specifically Ryan and Oso being rookies this is just an opportunity to get better you know they’re here you know they’re getting their feet wet with stuff you know I think Oso is someone that’s going to be a real connector for for our team that can play with other players at a high level and um and Ryan’s a guy that’s going to come in and be able to guard and sometimes those things aren’t valued or seen in summer league but are really important in summer league and during the regular season seems like alsoo is a big time communicator on defense kind of like quarterback cover stuff is that something yeah no I I think we want all our guys to communicate we want everyone to talk his versatility is like super super unique um obviously he’s got to get better at the drop coverage stuff I did a pretty good job switching um you know so his his ability to talk is going to be important on both sides of the ball you personally how valuable are to be able to be the head guy environment like some yeah no it’s it’s huge like I said everyone is trying to get better this week video guys are becoming coaches assistants become head coaches I think really you know seeing day-to-day the things coach bud has to think about and then thinking okay how as an assistant during the year can I help him you know with all the things that he’s doing how can we better organized um how do we communicate with people and things like that so it’s invaluable for me I have probably the biggest opportunity to get better than anyone in here so it’s been great thanks everybody thank you

How they can't find a better format to support better audio is beyond me. This is insane in 2024.
