[Linn] Lawrence Frank confirmed Paul George was initially offered two years / $60M, but that was in addition to his $50M player option.
Frank said the Clippers then upped their offer to PG without asking once they added James Harden.

What does that mean?
I’m assuming they purposefully pissed him off hoping he’d leave and offer the Kawhi deal at the end just to say they tried. They know PG gets into his feelings and no sane person would’ve thought that initially deal was going to be be received well from PG

The 50mil player option was already PGs to opt into. This wasn’t a new offer. They offered him 2yr 60mil of new money after that.
